It's surprising how you all now expect a private person who has not ruled Nigeria/Anambra State, and as far as we know has not stolen from Nigeria/Anambra State to be the one to start giving citizens cheap hospital care. What is supposed to be the role of govt at all levels?
Nobody is saying that its not the role of the government to carryout people oriented programmes. We are all in this country, we all know government has failed woefully. What is the reason of the Biafra/IPOB sovereignty agitation, its because our so called government has disappointed.
But do we that are privileged give up others that are not so privileged? Think.

PvtParts2: The "Nigeria is broke" lie
The current istration has a way of testing the waters when it comes to controversial issues such as negotiating an amnesty package for Boko Haram. This is exactly how they want you to believe that Nigeria is so hopelessly broke and that only solutions to cushion the effects will be:
1. Downsizing the public sector leading to mass unemployment
2. Privatization of Govt assets ( to be sold to western firms of course)
3. Further devaluation of the naira
4. Opening up of the economy to all manner of western goods including food.
5. Taking out an IMF loan package that will not in any way benefit the common man but will end up stashed in a western bank in Zurich thereby ensuring trans-generational poverty and enslavement to a corrupt loan package.
6. The loan which will be drawn out in dollars will ensure we work for the next 40 years trying to repay in dollars thereby enslaving us to the dollar. And with devaluation expected we will have to work 5 times much as we did to repay 1 dollar that is loaned.
This is the deal.
The APC and Buhari are set to sell us into slavery to the west.

DONSMITH123:
* Says we’ll hold FG responsible should there be any civil unrest
Ahead of the Saturday, November 21 governorship election in Kogi State, the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has cautioned the All Progressives Congress, APC-led government and the Police Force to note that there is a limit to which the people of Kogi state can stomach the unlawful harassment and detention of its in the state.
In a statement on Wednesday, by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, the PDP decried that it was worried upon the Save our Soul (SOS) message from its Kogi state chapter, informing the national leadership that the Police is using men of a special squad, to be arresting, beating up and invading homes of key PDP in the state.
The party said information available to them shows that Police operatives, acting on the orders of the APC government have been hounding, beating-up and arresting PDP and ers in Igalamala, Ofu, Dekina, Ankpa, Idah local governments and other areas in the state, ostensibly to intimidate and frighten the electorate and pave the way for some compromised INEC officials to manipulate the electoral process in favour of the APC.
The PDP said: “We want Nigerians and the international community to note that this attack is a clear fall-out from the secret meeting between the Presidency and security agencies and INEC, which we exposed earlier this week.
“The national leadership of the PDP condemns in the strongest possible , this reprehensible partisan deployment of state apparatus of power, which is a yet another clear indication that the Nigerian police may have become a compromised instrument in the hands of the APC federal government in its bid to forcefully take over PDP states.
“This intolerable and provocative operation by the Police cannot continue. Kogi state is a known PDP state and our and ers as free citizens cannot be treated as prisoners of war in a state where they are clearly in the majority. The people of Kogi state are being pushed to the wall and we invite the entire nation to note the avoidable growing tension occasioned by the desperation of the APC to take over the state.
“Consequently, we hereby state that we hold the Federal Government completely responsible should there be any civil unrest and/or breakdown of law and order in Kogi state or in any other part of the country where they have been exhibiting dictatorial and fascist tendencies.”

my advice is that the governor should have future plans on black nd white... starts projects like greater Aba city, this should be around osisioma with overhead bridge across aba-ph express road with good under . Aba phase 2 should be towards ibeme, abala with 2 lane high ways, good stadium, tourist park,a very big fiilm. Village and academy to draw Nollywood(igbo nollywood for dstv content), schools and free trade zone. Good garden streets and street lights. Establish Aba Engineering Company headed by Aba patriots. Make sure that 100% of the works are done with Aba engineers or nigeria Engineers with those with good engineering exposures abroad, overseas. Link all section of the state/aba town with railway. This is not nuclear science. Aba people can do it because they are hard working then ur governor will. Be the best. Thing happening in this Country. Can that woman selling pepper in the market be able to treat her child in this hospital? That's the most important thing not just the beauty of the place.
InyinyaAgbaOku:
Well, we don't want pepper sellers. Just as every hungry person chooses the class of restaurant that he can afford, health care delivery follows same way.
What is wrong with having an upscale hospital around? Must we travel far to access everything in Nigeria?
Yes, let rich people see where they will treat their children in Anambra and Nigeria at large.
People that are not used to aesthetics are usually scared of being reminded they are poor. What is making u think the hospital will cost billions if not for the neat environment and well manicured lawns? Is that not how a hospital is supposed to look like?
I commend the initiative, but will be lot better if a health programme can be considered for the poor, if not the the society has failed, that is what @oyind17 is trying to make out. They also built private schools that only the very rich can afford and allow the poor starve with poor education. You don't just wave off the less privileged as though they do not matter. , the very poor if not well handled by any government or society, can turnout to become security threat to the society and nation at large. How many % rich and educated people really voted in the last election that ushered in Buhari, not up to 30%. One of the reasons the poor voted massively for APC was because they believe that the APC with Buhari at the helm of affairs, will fulfill their campaign promises to improve their standard of living, though they never knew it was a scam. APC was smart to catch them because election is a game of numbers.
Lets not only think of ourselves but of others if we must be our brothers keeper.

Governor Henry Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state has expressed dissatisfaction with some comments made against President Muhammadu Buhari by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Today.ng reports.
Dickson has instead asked his people to come together and the Nigerian leader whom he has hailed for disclosing the economic status of the country.
The Bayelsa state governor, who made this charge while addressing new special advisers at the government house, Yenagoa, on Wednesday, said the way out of the present economic doldrums is diversification from oil and gas sector of the economy.
Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state
He said: “Already, you are all aware of the statement by the President that our country is in a very dire financial situation. That comment has attracted a lot of criticisms but I agree with the president that Nigerians are entitled to know the true state of the economy.

“Investors who want to do business in Nigeria are entitled to know the true state of our economy. Let me use this opportunity to call on all Bayelsans to listen to what the President has said that the entire country is broke. He has made us understand that the financial situation that we are managing is a national phenomenon. It is not peculiar to Bayelsa.
“For the allocation of last month, the Federation Allocation Committee could not meet until the past month because they didn’t have money to share to the state and , even when they met for the first time since I took over as governor, states have started getting zero allocation.
“I don’t know why people are blaming the president for saying that our country is broke because that is the truth about the economy. States can’t pay salaries, we can’t meet our basic responsibilities. I can’t pay allowances to myself and my staff.

“However, even in the midst of that we are managing to pay salaries. Even in this terrible month, we’ve directed that by Monday salaries of workers should be paid.”
Dickson also urged the new appointees to forces with other critical stakeholders of the PDP to mobilize for the party in the forthcoming election.
Chief Lambert Ototo, Special Adviser on Agriculture and Olaitari Ikemike, Special Adviser on Industrial Development are the newly-appointees.

WellNewMe:
If you are looking to improve your health and lose weight, there are certain foods that you should avoid at all costs. These foods are unhealthy not just because they can easily contribute to weight gain but should also be avoided due to the abundance of unhealthy and potentially harmful ingredients.
Having a healthy diet means choosing fruits, vegetables, and meats that are raised, grown, and sold with minimal processing. Packaged foods should contain minimal and readable ingredients, while providing a variety of vitamins and minerals. Often times, this is not the case and indulging in these foods can cause brain cloudiness, bloat, digestive issues, and even result in carrying around a couple extra kilos.
Below are five foods that we believe that you try to avoid when possible. These foods don’t necessarily have to be banned for a lifetime, but reaching for alternatives might bring you better health–and peace of mind.
1. “Soft Drinks”
If you must stop consuming only one thing, it should be sugar-sweetened drinks. The empty calories they provide help fill up your midsection without offering any nutritional benefit or sense of feeling full after taking them. Consuming them on a regular basis also increases your risks for developing diabetes. It is estimated that a can of "soft drink" contains as much as the equivalent of 12 cubes of sugar.
2. Processed meats
Most processed meat products, including bacon, sausage, and hot dogs, contain chemical preservatives that make them appear fresh and appealing, but they also increase your risk of cancer. Both sodium nitrite and sodium nitrate have been linked to a significant increase the risk of colon and other forms of cancer. Avoid having that shawarma as much as you can but if you must, go for the vegetable version.
3. Margarine
Margarine is loaded with trans fat which raises bad cholesterol, lowers good cholesterol, and causes inflammation. This can lead to belly fat and diseases ranging from heart disease to diabetes. Avoid items like pastries, crackers, snack foods, and even microwave popcorn which are packed with plenty of margarine.
4. Packaged Fruits
Choose the real, fresh fruits over the sugar-packed of any kind. These usually have artificial colors that add no nutritional value.
5. Diet/Sugar Free Drinks
Diet drinks and diet foods usually contain artificial sweeteners such as sucralose, aspartame, acesulfame K, and neotame. In small doses, sugar is totally fine. But when choosing artificial sweeteners instead of sugar, you need to be aware that they can reset your taste buds to crave sugary foods. This stimulation of sweet taste often leads to eating more junk food. Additionally, the safety of these sweeteners is controversial.

Dear Nutritionist,
what are the kind of food and soft drinks you can recommend for safe consumption because it does appear all foods and drinks are dangerously going by the foods and drinks displayed for sale at eatery ts, restaurants, shops etc with respect to your article. thanks
