It’s good The 3mz v6 engine is very reliable, consumes lesser fuel than 2gr engine and less expensive to replace if it breaks down and needs change. The rx 330 design doesn’t look anywhere old. Lexus used the same body shape from 2007 and only changed it after 2009. The gearbox is also less expensive to change compared to rx 350’s It’s an SUV, so you are cleared to put head in any Nigerian road, weda the road is bad or not. Just make sure you buy a sound one. Take a trusted mechanic who knows what he’s doing for inspection so you can buy a car you can enjoy. Generally, the car doesn’t give problem, unless you buy a lemon car. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

So sad What most mechanics are doing na trial and error You will buy parts that has nothing to do with rhe problem your car is facing. |

My avalon ship was having this problem. The car vibrate as I accelerate and then stops. When I get to 40km/hr it starts vibrating again. I took it to the mech he said that the bearing wasn’t fixed well. And when he fixed it, the vibration stopped. Then, before I traveled, I worked on the legs(changed my break pads and serviced some other things on the legs) Then I noticed that this vibration started again. I took it to another mech he brought out the shaft, and examined the three bearings on the shaft and where they are plugged into(I don’t know the name) We took it to someone who said he the bearing sitting part of the shaft needs filling, that some parts are worn. He also said that this is not the problem but can contribute to the problem. He did the filling, and the car was coupled. The vibration stopped reduced drastically but in some cases it still vibrates just a little on acceleration and stops(not quite noticeable) |

Wow… Is this not the same wall gecko that kids born in the 90s roasted and ate believing it stops bed wetting ![]() If it’s actually as harmful as they claimed, lots of kids for don die since. They should carry out autopsy on the deceased and know the cause of death not mere speculations. I was even expecting to read that the police came up with this conclusion after carrying out autopsy, only to read rubbish speculations. |

So guys, I need expert insight on this issue. I am looking at getting a Nigerian used Toyota Camry 2006 for my dad. After looking around I found this neat and well maintained ride. I took my mechanic and a friend who knows alot about cars to inspect the car. The two drove the car around and attested that the car drives well and the gear box and engine is good. The car selects well and it will be a good buy. I asked for the price and went home. The next day I made up my mind to go for the car. I called the owner to meet me somewhere. When we met he was telling about how somebody wanted to buy the car that very day but because of something the guy said after inspection, he refused the guy from paying. I asked him what did the guy say, he told me that the guy’s mechanic adviced him not to buy the car because of the gearbox is about to go bad. When I prompted him to explain more he continued talking that he noticed that in the morning, whenever he starts the car to move, the car takes some time before it actually moves. He continued that he called his mechanic and his mechanic told came and checked the car and told him that the fault is not a bad gear box but the gear box oil pump. That once it’s changed and the gear oil changed also, the issue will disappear. On hearing this. I had to retreat, my friend that went with me initially, said I should cancel off the car that the issue is the onset of a faulty gearbox whch will eventually pack up and require me buying a new gearbox. I called my mechanic and narrated the issue to him, he said it’s a minor problem and repeated exactly what the seller’s mechanic said about the gear box oil pump. That it can be fixed with 50-60k and the car will stop doing that. That it’s not something to cancel the car for. Now, I am left on a cross road who to believe. Go with my friend who’s saying the mechanic is out to get paid because once I buy the car, he’s sure he’s the one that will fix the issue and it’s likely that the issue will project into other things giving that most mechanics do trial and error. What do you guys think. The car is really neat, well maintained and drives well. And it falls within my budget. It’s actually the neatest car I have seen since I started my quest to buy this big daddy |

Who’s trying to compare Toyota maintenance cost to Benz? Are you alright? A civil servant earning 100-150k per month can comfortably own a Toyota camry Spider and maintain it very well. But with that income, you will struggle to maintain even a simple C class talk more E class or S class. Abi you wan go into GLk, ML, GLE and so on? A luxury car is a luxury car for a reason and a simple Camry is a simple Camry for a reason. Stop deceiving ppl. Do you know why Nigerians always go for Toyota Corollas and Camrys? This is because, most of the small small components that can easily go bad can be replaced with cheap and china made components and these cheap components might go a long way to last you for a long time. Or in some cases, if you don’t have the money to buy even the Chinese parts, that’s where you see your mechanic tying something with rope or filling it up with plastic he picked on the ground and the car will just run and work for you on management level pending when you have the money to replace buy parts. But with benz, you can’t try this type of thing. It’s true that parts take time to break down. But when it does, you must buy and replace with the direct OEM part or it might not work. And these direct OEM parts are not cheap. Please, stop deceiving ppl. It’s not good A young man earning small income will see this comparison now and use his money to go and buy benz because em wan drive benz and after some months he will discover he cannot even cope with the routine servicings and will end up parking the car somewhere in his compound. 1 Like |

Funny enough that’s the price of the car. It’s around 3.5-3.9m It’s a known fact that automobiles are getting more expensive because of various factors that have made it it so. It’s not the car dealers fault, he needs to recoup a reasonable profit from the car sale to keep his business running. My take is, if you are going to spend that much on a car, let it not be a corolla, because when the car starts being boring to you, you will hiss all day. You can add small money and get an 07 Camry or a Lexus Es 330. It’s all about value for money here and not the price. The truth is, before you can get any good toks vehicle now in Nigeria you should be looking at between 3.8m, 4m and upwards. 1 Like |

The car you want is a pretty good ride and suitable for Nigeria and it’s roads Being a Toyota you are covered because of its durability. You just have to make sure you get a clean tokumbo, well inspected by a trusted japanese automobile engineer(not those that will follow you to the car dealer and collect money at your back from the dealer and recommend a bad unit for you) I know lots of ppl will tell you to avoid the v6 and go for the i4 because of fuel. Please, whatever you do, don’t listen to them. The v6 is your best bet. It’s much more durable and doesn’t come with the oil burning issues the i4 engines come it. Again, it rides alot better (although if you are concerned about how your car rides, Toyota shouldn’t be your option) But with the v6, you get a little taste of a good riding vehicle. Plus, the fuel consumption isn’t that bad on the v6. It’s just like using because of fuel consumption you go and buy an I my neighbor generator instead of a bigger sumec spg 3800 generator that will serve you better. With the i4, there are lots of problems you will be facing down the line and the first will be the oil burning problem which you will definitely face if you end up with an unrecalled unit of the 2007-2009 Toyota camry. It’s not that the i4 engine is not good. It’s Toyota engine and it’s reliable. But once the oil burn starts happening, lots of things in your car starts getting messsy. 84 Likes 11 Shares |

I pray for a Nigeria that it’s citizens can confidently plan for a long road trip to any part of the country without asking about the security atmosphere of the paths they are going to ply through.
