I think Yoruba are the ones hating Igbo, they don't like Igbo but don't want the country separated.

Yoruba are always loyal to the North thereby betraying other southerners

Even though I have my personal reservations with the Biafran ideology and movement which I wouldn’t want to delve into now, it doesn’t blind me to the fact that everyone and every single human being has a fundamental human prerogative to self-determination, actualization and progress within the confines of an unadulterated, non-oppressive, all encoming laws of humanity and laws of the land they find themselves while been firmly rooted on a foundation of equity, justice and equality. These are the true factors that propel societies forward on the path of greatness.

The Ultimatum given by the Northern Youth Association in Kaduna recently is a direct, reckless, insensitive and flagrant declaration of war on a people (Igbos) who aren’t even completely united on the Biafran cause and a people (including the agitators calling for secession) who have largely been 100% peaceful to the best of my knowledge going about their businesses, dealings and struggles with other and ethnicities of the Nigeria.. Such an ultimatum is not only TREASONABLE but a flimsy excuse to brutally and violently assault and repress the Easterners in the north once again like they have always done in the past through riots for no justifiable reasons - nothing less. I was born, raised and lived in the north (the shugabban kasa of the north, Kano state to be precise) for 20+ years and still emotionally connected to that region so that qualifies me to know exactly what I am talking about in addition to knowing precisely how the average mindset works over there..

The Easterners who have been the most wronged (as Wole Soyinka rightly said), most mal-treated, most persecuted and most violated ethnic group in Nigeria, who lost millions of its people to an unnecessary brutal genocidal civil war, has every inch of human right to honour their dead or heroes in whatever way they deem appropriate even if it means sitting at home for a week or a day as they did on May 29th since the Nigerian confederation/government has failed to officially do so by setting a day to specially commemorate the dead which would have gone a long way in pacifying aggrieved and offended minds of the Igbo people but unfortunately, arrogance, pride, loathness and a false sense of political correctedness wouldn’t allow the Nigerian government do so..

In sane climes around the world, such a statement made by the Northern Youth Association would be a culpable offense taken very seriously with steps put in place to check-mate its occurrence. Unfortunately, in this jungle called Nigeria, the reverse is the case as a particular group of people are always given special executive privileges to commit and monopolize on violence with impunity. If such an ultimatum was issued by a group down south, east or west, the DSS and the security outfits would have been in full swing to brutally clamp down on them - a strong case of nepotism, inequality and injustice which has always been the bane and curse of this country since its inception by our colonial masters and one of the major issues surrounding the civil war still left unaddressed till this very day.

Irrespective of anyone’s ideologies and opinions regarding the way to go about our collective existence, sustenance and co-existence as a people and nation, I would always maintain my stance that what has so far got us neck-deep stuck in all these mess of national development we always find ourselves is solely as a result of BAD LEADERSHIP and a DEGRADED MINDSET and SPIRIT of Nigerians (poverty of the mind and spirit syndrome as my dad would say).. And until we find a way to relief ourselves of these two demons or diseases, it would always be the same pathetic situation for this nation – accept it or deject it. The leaders we have always had are a total reflection of the people we are.

That notwithstanding, I want to use the opportunity to call on everyone to VEHEMENTLY REBUKE and proactively CONDEMN the statement and proposed action for the eviction of all Easterners from the Northern region by the Northern/Arewa Youth Association who ignorantly claim and believe that all Easterners are part of the agitation for a sovereign state of Biafra.

I implore everyone to take a stand against the insolence and excesses of this group in any way and any form.

No one or group of persons in this country has the monopoly for continued violence or should be allowed in any capacity to engage in the violation of human rights and disrespect for the of human lives..

We all as Nigerians of diverse cultures and believes from the North, South, East, West and Middle Belt regions still share the common values of peace, tranquility and progress and irrespective of our obvious differences, we must always explore all avenues of positivity to enable us work together and hopefully get it right instead finding way of ways of tearing each other apart.

SAY NO TO THE DECLARATION OF WAR ON THE EASTERNERS BY THE NORTHERN YOUTH ASSOCIATION..
SAY NO TO VIOLENCE..
SAY NO TO NEPOTISM..
SAY YES TO RECONCILIATION..
SAY YES TO PEACE..
SAY YES TO PROGRESS..
SAY YES TO GOOD AND ABLE LEADERSHIP FOR ALL..
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH..

I agree. It is a tough time to be an ibo.
The Hausas are threatning the ibos.
The Yorubas are deporting the ibos.
The Niger Deltans are denying the ibos.
The Middle Beltans are rejecting the ibos.
The whole country is marginalising the ibos.

It must be really sad to be an ibo

There is widespread anxiety in the South Eastern part of the country. This is sequel to an ultimatum issued a Coalition of Northern Youth Groups directing Igbos residing in the northern part of the country to leave the region within three months or face violent attacks.

Worried by the declaration, of the Igbo Socio-Cultural organization, Ohaneze Ndigbo have called on the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies to urgently wade into the matter and stop possible violent expulsion of the Igbos from the North. In a statement issued by the Deputy Publicity Secretary of the group, Chucks Ibegbu, the group described the call as treasonable and intended to incite one section of the country against another.

The statement reads in part “The DSS, the police and other security agencies should take note of the statement by the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum and the other Northern groups for issuing this threat against the Igbo. It should not be seen as an empty threat; urgent action is needed to foil the plan to attack the Igbo in the North. It happened in the past and we don’t want it to happen again."

The statement further added that the character that issued the ultimatum "should be arrested by the DSS immediately. We are watching to see what the DSS would do in this situation. Yerima Shettima’s statement is treasonable; he is inciting one section of the country against another section and we know from experience that this sort of thing could lead to a civil war. His utterances could destroy this country.”

Vigil360 had earlier reported that a coalition of frontline Northern youth organisations, issued an ultimatum (See: SECESSION: North Hands Igbos Ultimatum To Leave Region) which will elapse on 1st Oct, 2017 to all Igbos’ to leave the region as they will begin ‘visible actions’ to prove they are no longer part of the federation.

The Middle Belt Youth Council (MBYC) has offered the Igbos accommodation if the Northern youths send them away from their states
It was earlier reported that the Coalition of Northern Youths (CNY) in a statement on Tuesday, June 6, in Kaduna, issued a three month ultimatum to Igbos to vacate the northern region or be evicted.
Information gathered says that MBYC in a statement signed by the president, Emma Zopmal on Wednesday, June 7, said they were ready to offer Igbos safe haven in their land for them to continue with their life.

"We wish to express our profound gratitude to God for keeping us alive today. Middle Belt Youth Council is extremely concerned about the ongoing regional tension in Nigeria today and we want to make our position clear to the world.
In the light of incessant threats to one Nigeria posed by killer-herdsmen, we want to call on good people of Middle Belt to first of all, the Anti-grazing Bill.
Grazing by Fulani herdsmen on our land has become the major cause of conflicts in our region therefore, we're calling for total ban on open grazing so as to save the lives of our people and their farmlands.
Secondly, it's no longer news that our country Nigeria is facing a daunting challenge of peace and unity but we want to assure the good citizens of Nigeria that we have been a peace-loving people and we'll continue to be.
But, in an event one part of the country decides to go away as a separate entity, Middle Belt is also ready to make an independent statement.
We want to clarify those who think that the Middle Belt is part of the North: God created everywhere and everyone and He gave it to whom he chooses and Middle Belt is a creation of God and not man (Usman bn Fodio).
Therefore, we choose what to use our land for, how to run it and where we want to be. Middle Belt has been a home for the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, South-South and the South-West without any form of discrimination against anyone.
We've accommodated every Nigerian for centuries now. We deserve respect and commendations."
