The question we should ask ourselves is simple, apart from the MM2 development, which other construction has this company embarked upon - in relations to a huge infrastructural development like road construction and maintenance. If we can't answer this question, then I'm afraid the PDP govt gave this contract without going through the proper process of selecting viable companies that should be vetted. Going by the average mentality of a typical Nigerian company, most of them haven't got solid background in their choosen fields. They think that on the job learning will be ok. This kind of project is normally given to consortium of companies that have got good financial backing either privately or with well established financial institutions. When the contract was given to this company, I just know that we're all been taken for a ride. Three years after, that's exactly the situation. |

I think most of us in Nigeria like to show off by buying foodstuffs which are imported due to our attitude towards locally produced foods. It is a status symbol when people boost of eating imported foods, as if the locally produced foods are fake. To make it worse our fellow country men who lives abroad when coming on vacation to Nigeria, will load suitcases with foreign food items for their family. The average family food item now comprises of Cereals, Noodles, Spagetti, carbonated flavour drinks etc. We just need to change our orientation and learn to accept that our locally, naturally produced foods are very good. |

In my young mind, I think it is the Millennium Phase - where baby steps democracy was implemented and the advent of the Blackberry generation.

This is a very funny pix. At least they're starting from somewhere - Digital black board information service. Brings to mind one of Mr.President's election promises to build airport in all the 36 states of the federation. Why can't he just start by implementing a fast track upgrading of all existing airport in Lagos, Kano, PH and Abuja. We're still crawling in Nigeria, |

Another airline that barely started recently already winning fake awards. As mentioned earlier by another poster, why can't a consortium of rich Igbo businessmen pull resources together to float an airline that will cater for the travel needs of the people in the South East region. I see a region that will rapidly develop if there is an international airport in either Enugu or Owerri. Can anyone imagine the combination of Chinese manufacturers with our indigenious Igbo guys doing serious business together. |

There is definetely no monopoly of being a terrorist in the country. As usual, everything is about competition and zoning in Nigeria. Maybe it will be the turn of OPC or MASSOB to throw their hats into the ring. |

We're trully blessed and enjoying the better things in life. On the other hand, what will happen to our economy if the stated amount is what we receive for exporting those food items to other countries. We can and able to provide these foods, why importing. |

Another link to engineering development by the Chinese. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-13981547 When are we going to get the simple projects in life done. We still have a very, very long way to go. |

Those in position of authority has turned embezzlement into a competition. It is about who is smart enough to out do the other fellow. There is no self conscious attitude for why they invlove in this act. |

If by going with what he did when he came in through the back door in 1984, I think things will have improve a bit in certain areas of the country, notably the National Assembly.

It goes to show the level of corruption in the Nigeria landscape. If the government cannot that this project can be completed by the firm, this is no good enough. It is now over 3years, now the blame is on Nigerian banks and unforeseen forces - we keep deluding overselves. The Lagos - Ibadan expressway can be completed within 18months if the right company is in place. When are we ever going to get things done properly in Nigeria. In some countries with proper procedures and legislation, the managers of this company will have been prosecuted. So the suffering continues for the masses using the road |

There should be no excuse whatsoever for both ladies and guys, should know who to cook basic Nigerian foods. Most especially ladies, as they are viewed as life sustainers. |

In my own case it was the other way round, she first had a crush on me since JSS1 which i returned in kind. Even until now that she's married we still remain very close 'crushers' (if there's a word like that), her husband still thank me for allowing him to marry her. |

@ reply #39/#40 There should be no reason for the National Assembly to be in a long recess after election. Let's assume they went for recess, it still shouldn't take them the best part of a month to interview all the ministers It was in the news daily, the number of times the list of selected ministerial names keep changing. So who is to blame, unfortunately the buck stops with Mr President. If he knows that he doesn't have any agenda, at least he can borrow the 7-point agenda used by his late boss. He can focus on 5-main points - Corruption - Power - Security - Infrastructural Development across the regions and a sustainable alternative to Crude oil (Agriculture). The truth is that if these 5-points can be maintained and followed through, Nigeria will change by 5% before the next election. This is not rocket science. |

I don't think this will happen, they can continue to day dream. Please someone should inform these people in National Assembly to be more resourceful and not engage themselves in activities that will not help the country. The last thing the people want to hear is another round of mud fighting about extension to useless amendement, when what is needed is to get power, fixed roads and railways, dredge the river Niger, upgrade the facilities in all the major airports etc. |

It has been very well known all along that some powerful northern politicians are sponsoring this sect. Once they get what they want, it will all die down a bit - a classic example - MEND. |

It is so simple, let each individual country take a proper stock of what they have and then channel their brains into developing political and economical ideologies that will suit their developmental goals. The USA, and largely the Western Europeans should not be the ones to dictate what kind of ideologies to adopt. In my own opinion, capitalism, democracy, communism and all other fancy ideological words are just frauds. |

It is said that a picture can tell a thousand stories. What else do we need to make us understand that so-called intelligence agencies in Nigeria are complete useless. They are only known for one thing, harassing the lives of hardworking, peace-loving fellow human beings. It's a big shame on those in govenment. 2 Likes |

I'm afraid the signs are all there to be seen by the blind and for the deaf to hear that what is happening now in Nigeria is just not good. In all the six geo-political zones, there is nothing to write home about on - security - transportation - power etc We don't need a prophesy to let us know that a dictator might take over soon. |

After 2years of being a Vice President, 1year of being Acting President through the back door, and 1 year of being President. Mr President still doesn't know how to move Nigeria in the developmental direction. So we're to expect another 4years of wasted promises without any plans. I pity of the folks that voted for him in the last election, now we can all see him for who he is - 'real drunken fisherman without any shoes' If it took him almost 6weeks to get his cabinet in place, what hope does Nigeria have. |

We delude ourselves to think that we're start, but unfortunately we're just mentally lazy to understand the simple concept of life and how we can be resourceful to our existence. By the law of corruption that is in our system, we do things that are just plain stupid. A good example, after all these years (12 years of PDP govt) we can't even upgrade the MMA International Airport. Yet within the same period, Dubai has turned its airport to be the sixth biggest airport in the world. Our so-called smart leaders will be bragging about how Nigeria can still develop. Unfortunately, we still have a long way to go. Let us all go back to the basic and start to think in a very analytic way, instead of looking for the fastest way to get things done. |

He has spoken right, why should anyone want to emulate him. What we so called younger generation should aspire to do is to create our own ideology that will help in the development of Nigeria. He has done is very best to try and move Nigeria forward. A big thank you to him for all what he has achieved in Nigeria, we still need people like him. Happy Birthday Sir. |

Why can't some people keep quiet and get the proper job done, instead of making comments which everyone knows cannot happen in the decades to come. Ordinary website to promote the Nigeria Vision 2020 is not operative and we are 9years towards that year. I guess the commentator is in dream land. We should start by making a big challenge to battle the cancer which is corruption, before any development can really start. |
