Once again, the stand alone tank stand and the roof cage mounted water tank base.
They both supply water stored from an overhead tank, aided by the force of gravity. They have some advantages and disadvantages.
The steel mounted tank stand takes some compound space, some people has this fear it will fall, its a little costlier.
The tank base built on top of the house mostly mounted on a decked portion of the roof is cheaper to build and does not consume compound space but can cause big problems for the health of the building if it ever leaks. Leaks can occur as water from broken ts, rain water falling into the decked tank base or even water overfill from pumps.
Rubbiish:
Which is costlier & stronger between concrete stand alone tank stand & steel sir?
Oga spyder kindly do justice to this question, i am about erecting one.
I would like to know the advantages & disadvantags associated with both.
Thanks

I don't think I've seen a house floored with asphalt. It's a semi solid form of petroleum. It burns. It smells.
Some compound of top politicians & churches are floored using asphalt.

@BARRYTON, angular bar is good but the capacity of the water tank will determine the angular bar thickness to be used
Thanks my brother
It is a two storey building

Do angular bar have various thickness?

I am almost 7ft tall and no water on my ceilings.
POP can retain or repell water to a very extense.
There is no justification not to use POP in a bathroom.

Lol, the country is just coming out of recession, some Nigerians are more concerned now with what to eat than erecting a building, my friend who is an Engineer with one of this Opic properties & estate and has built for several clients told me recently that everything has slowed down unlike in the past, only few people are building in his estate, although there is exception to every situation, hopefully, things might improve in the first quarter of 2018 when the government releases money for their various infrastructures mapped out in the new year, money will circulate and construction activities will pick up
Hopefully

Not on top. You need to access the coordinates on the beacon at all times to avoid confusion with your neighbours.
Thanks

Thanks alot sir
About to fence a plot
So it is advisable to do it within the beacon & not on top?

Hello. The N150k is for the digging, setting of blocks and plastering.
Are they also plastering the soakaway?
is decking also included in the labour?
|
Barryton: 2:16pm On Jan 09, 2018 |
diordaves:
The block is not on top the beacon, the beacon is on its own in front of the fence. So the bricklayer is using the beacon as a point of reference to erect the fence.
Something like the illustration below sir?

You are not answering the question.
Is the N150k for digging only ?
If it is that is too much.
I just done mine which is 10x10and 12ft deep.
And 6x6ft.
I paid N50k for it in Abeokuta just because of hard Land that have Rock .
Normally it should cost me N35k but because of the rock l have to paid 15k more.
Yours should not be more than 60k due to the size.
Was the septic tank & soak away linked with a pipe?

This is very good advice. Just align the block work to expose the beacon on the outside of the fence. So from the outside the beacon is there for all to see (First photo) and from the inside the fence is perfect (second photo). This is how it is done.
Sir from the photo below, was the block vertically placed on top of the beacon?
Will that not still cover the beacon?
