Howdy my people??! Longest of the longest time oo. Just checking in to see if this thread was still active. I hardly visit Nairaland site these days sha... Anyway I'm doing good. Well to catch you all up whilst I've been away I don become marathon runner o lol.. No be small thing o, I run races and get medals etc lol who would have thought?! My days of Billy Blank Tae bo and Jillian Michaels are over..infact dvds in general. I love the great outdoors, rain or sunshine winter or summer- I'm out there enjoying my runs. This is what has helped me reach my target weight this year and keep it off so far. I ed a running club to keep me motivated and on top of my game. I'm able to eat and not diet and still enjoy my food whilst maintaining my trim figure. I still do some cross training with free weights and ride my bike. So that's me so far. I'm sure I've used my fitness pal before..I've all these fitness apps on my phone but sometime it's just another thing to fill in etc and then the novel wears off. It does help some people though.

Weighed in yesterday at 68kg. So down 0.5kg this week. Going down slowly but surely.. my mood has been a bit down lately and I nearly succumbed to a binge eating episode yesterday(my binges generally involve white bread and lots of butter ![]() And so I continue... 1 Like |

Sadly I gained during the last 2 weeks of January and actually went up to 70kg ![]() I will weigh in again next monday. |

Glad to read you are back on track Tearoses. 0.5kg loss for me this past week so 67.5kg I'm trying to keep focused...so much on at the moment that sometimes mindless eating creeps in. IF is helping keep things steady. |

Congrats Tearoses and Destinygirl, nice loses. Sts is better than gain HG scales can be funny and best to use the same one each time if you can. I have been using the same mechanical one for over 4 years..no battery change required...only thing but it doesn't show up tiny loses or gains. But on the other hand it doesn't make me obsess. Well done all. I'm 68kg starting weight. Will update next weigh in. |

Hey guys, great thread here and I would love to the weekly weigh ins. I'm currently doing IF (intermittent fasting) as a way of life for my eating, I eat between 12 and 8pm. I've never really been a breakfast person and read up about IF last year and found it works for me(check out leangains.com). It has been the key to helping me maintain my weight and not gain (I'm a fast gainer) while I had a hiatus from working out. Without going into a long essay my mojo for working out up and left sometime last October and it's been a struggle to get that excitement and motivation back since. I was all geared up to start Jan 4th when I got some sad news from home on the 3rd..so this first week has not gone off to the start I envisioned but a bonus is my appetite went and so no over eating. I've not weighed this first week so I will just update with my current weight on Monday. I'm into strength training and hiit as my workout. Modath well done on those burpees and 180's..that Jillian eh?! Hitting the road is a surefire way to speed things up. Best way is build up to it..I used c25k each time. Yest went for brisk walk for 60mins. Lots of uphill terrain. Nice feeling in my hammies and glutes this morning. Sadly it's raining today so no outdoor action for me. I love being in the open air as it clears my head and kids are on half term so everyone is in my space... Foodwise: low carbing. Enuf bread and rice causing it's own palava so giving it a wide berth. Good day all. |

@Agaby: Salsa dancing..nice cardio and for an hour?! ![]() Cool push up work too...I'm still struggling to get my chest fully down to ground for full push ups without compromising on form..my upper body strength is slightly lacking but practice makes perfect so will keep doing them. Yes good old Billy Blanks and the lycra clad crew ![]() I need to shift this stubborn fat faster without doing restrictive dieting. Tae bo worked for me in the past and hopefully it will again..mixed up with my lifting days I'm hoping I'm on to a winning formula ![]() So right now I'm off to get some sleep so I can wake up refreshed ready for my date tmrw @ 5.30am with Billy.... Happy new year folks! Thank you so much Efosa for starting this online class. One of my new year goals is to learn how to sew and I have had my equipment (standard sewing machine and a mini one I bought in October) all set with the other tools for a few months now. Hubby has been bugging me about when am i going to start learning etc.. So far I've just been researching online how to go about starting so this thread is timely indeed. Happy New Year house! Hope you've all had a good break over the festive season? I've enjoyed the break and ready to embrace the new year! What I'm currently doing: I have started a C25K running programme this week. I aim to build up my runs strategically each week following this plan. By the end of 8 weeks I should be able to comfortably run a 5k run in 30 mins. The plan is to run 3 times a week however I will still incorporate my Jillian Michael and Tae Bo dvds during the interval days and rainy weather. In this month of January I aim to drink more water and eliminate snacking between meals (except fruit/nuts). So what are you fitness/ health related plans or goals for this new month? |

Lol Mody at your 'conversation' with your friend C in your head! Guess you know them well enough not to bother explaining the virtues of a fit and healthy body! I need to step up, somehow this month has been a bit patchy with the exercise. @agaba: i agree that roller equipment is the bomb. I have one gathering dust in my cupboard. I recall the diff in my stomach muscles after using it just a few times. It's so simple but effective -and form is key. Slow but deliberate movement, ripping those muscles! @ HG:how far now, hope cool? |
