I can confirm that the confirmation number of the DS-160 is one of the fields you will fill before you pay and I believe that the Embassy has your details starting you have chosen Lagos. I think we should be relieved that at least an action has been taken. Let's see what the new week will bring. Cheers.

Choice of embassy was chosen before making payment and I guess the files would have been created for one on that embassy system, it’s safe to pick Lagos again as they might do something better this time around

This is an update in case of anyone facing similar issue. Mine reflected this morning and it's now in the pre-approval stage. It took them over two weeks to process.
Things I did which I don't know if helped was creating a ticket with my complain and attaching my payment receipt and also sending them an email with my complaints and receipts.

How long did you stay in preapproval stage please?

It is just a bit unsettling when you read of people getting dates in Abuja after 2 days wait. When I saw that the site is allowing payment again, then I figured out that maybe AVITS is allowing people have that chance but the process is devoid of useful information. The system is also very unyielding. I would have created another visa application and paid if not that I do not have a spare 320k to pay. I hope you find the information useful bro.

I have ed my i20 since 31 August, 2024 and I have been waiting ever since then, all efforts to Lagos embassy have been frustrated, the email I sent to them was replied with a very unprofessional response saying the email will never be read and I should AVITS where there are little to no information.

The issue of mrv payment in bank is really not embassy dependent, it does happen to anyone.

The safest way to make payment is by card coz it’s an instant processing
