No manam! These are the people who will be quick to shout fraud and corruption at politicians. Forgetting that they're just as corruption. Let's hope they will know from this day that they are seeking to thrive through deception and thievery.

Everywhere you go you will find dickhead politicians. Look at Cameroon to understand what happens when stupid politicians think repression can be used to manage pent up anger. Someone warned that the situation in Southern Cameroon can spill over into Nigeria. This could be it! It started in a similar way. ehinmowo: |

Two Nigerian men have been arrested for allegedly scamming a German state that tried to buy 2.3m euros (£2m) of personal protective equipment (PPE). Nigerian police say they cloned the website of a Dutch company to obtain an order from the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. When the PPE didn't show up, a state government representative visited the company's offices in the Netherlands. The company then informed him that they had never done business with him. The representative notified the Dutch police and investigations led to Nigeria where the two suspects were arrested in the capital, Abuja. They are due to appear in court soon. Africa Live: Updates on this and other stories Why journalists in Nigeria feel under attack The suspects, Babatunde Adesanya and Akinpelu Hassan Abass, were of a "sophisticated transnational criminal network", Nigerian police said in a statement. The pair allegedly cloned the corporate website of ILBN Holdings BV in order to carry out the scam on Freiherr Fredrick Von Hahn, who represented North Rhine-Westphalia. The PPE was needed for the battle against coronavirus. Two more arrests have also been made in the Netherlands. According to Nigerian police, Mr Von Hahn was "disturbed" when the PPE did not arrive, only to find out that "the company never did business with him and that the transaction was a scam. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/world-africa-54051424

The global population is likely to shrink after the middle of this century, triggering shifts in economic power, a new report suggests. There will be around 9.7 billion people on the planet by 2064, but that number will decrease to 8.8 billion by the year 2100, according to a new report in medical journal The Lancet. The analysis says that improvements to modern contraceptive methods and the increasingly widespread education of women could be a catalyst for a decline in global fertility rates. https://news.sky.com/story/decline-in-fertility-will-see-global-population-shrink-triggering-radical-shifts-in-economic-power-report-12028364 |

In January 2010, two Irish businessmen secured a 20-year contract to turn Nigeria’s vast gas reserves into power. But the government never built a promised pipeline to feed gas to the processing plant, and their British Virgin Islands-ed company, Process and Industrial Developments, or P&ID, never so much as put spade to soil on its planned site in a riverine corner of southeast Nigeria. P&ID, founded by Michael Quinn and Brendan Cahill, says it hoped to provide gas to generate power for millions in one of the least electrified countries in the world. Instead, a little over two years later, the company began an arbitration action against Nigeria that accused the west African state of a breach of contract. In 2017, a of three arbitrators voted 2-1 to award P&ID the full sum of its claim for future profits tied to the original project: a stunning $6.6 billion. With interest, the award has ballooned to almost $10 billion, or a quarter of the foreign reserves of Africa’s largest economy. After missing multiple deadlines to appeal – and only after P&ID applied to the British commercial court, a branch of the high court, for enforcement – Nigeria challenged the award. On Monday its lawyers will ask a high court judge in London to allow them to present what they say is newly discovered evidence that both the contract and Nigeria’s arbitration defence – under a previous istration – were, as President Muhammadu Buhari said in a speech to the UN last year, “a sham” that was “attempting to cheat Nigeria out of billions of dollars”. P&ID denies any wrongdoing, and says that Nigeria has invented the accusations to avoid paying what it owes and to delay the seizure of state assets. “The government is firmly committed to overturning the injustice of the award – no matter how long it takes,” attorney-general Abubakar Malami told the Financial Times. “We will pursue all available legal avenues in our fight to secure justice for the people of Nigeria.” https://www.irishtimes.com/business/energy-and-resources/the-6bn-judgment-pitting-nigeria-against-irish-businessmen-1.4303141 |

why complain when Nigeria get branded a rogue state? If yahoo yahoo brought in more money and naija ought to be proud then you might as well just submit for the 'trade' to be legalised. Sometimes you wonder why Nigerians complain when they are treated as criminals everywhere, but it's obvious when you read write-ups like these. How can someone spent so much energy to talk positively about crime but then claims he does not crime? Does that even make any sense?

A university lecturer has inadvertently captured the cringe-worthy moment that she caught a student giving a hand job during a lecture. Lectures can be pretty boring things, especially if it's in a subject that you're not interested in. While many of us might nod off, listen to music or doodle in our books, clearly some people enjoy playing with their or someone else's doodle during class. The awkward moment was revealed during a livestream of Sydney's Macquarie University Laws1000 class. She says on the recording: "Oh my God. Give me a minute guys, I just want to bleach my eyes and brain. Um, I love y'all but give me one sec. We're going to have a talk now." "I know that precedent is a very sexy topic and I love when my audiences are excited and animated and engaged, dear Lord, but there's a limit to that. "If you'd like to have special love time with your partner, there are some perfectly sanitised and malleable bean bags over at News, and I'm sure that there's an empty cinema around here trying to make the movie Cats work that's empty. Go for your life." "But, this is the second time I'm saying this in my career, no below-the-belt touching in my lecture theatre, please." We are now dying to know what the first time was regarding. The lecturer continued: "I'm not going to name and shame, but just to clarify this is a mentoring unit so I will give some sort of mentorship here. The strategic placement of the hoodie on the lap only draws the eye more. "I said I was glad they kept the university open today, but now I don't know." The video cuts off before we're able to hear how the lecture was brought back on track but you can imagine it would certainly have been an awkward moment for the couple involved. Macquarie University has acknowledged that an 'incident' happened during a lecture and has commended the unnamed lecturer for her conduct. Students have been reminded to have a squiz at the university's Student Code of Conduct on how to act during class. http://va.newsrepublic.net/al/mwehve 1 Share |

This historic chair — temporarily unsat upon — is available at M.S. Rau Antiques. Background: During youthful doings when he was youthfully Doing It in Paris, Edward VII, the Prince of Wales/later King of England, had a “Love Chair.” The thing was made to measure and thus to peut être perfectly accommodate his regalness’ perfectly corpulent behind. The maker? Monsieur Louis Soubrier. It was 1890. Pre-Instagram so he was très discreet. The siège d’amour, or “seat of love,” got delivered to the Parisian bordello of his choice, Le Chabanais, for HRH’s immediate needs. Infamous, this “playboy prince” amused himself — thanks to the chair — on occasion with two ladies at the same time without crushing his female partners. Kiddies, Mother is telling you that this original gem is now owned by the great-grandson of its original 19th-century manufacturer. It’s one of only three still existing that was based on the original design. Another’s on display — fortunately not being used — at the Sex Machines Museum in Prague. The following is additional information, if you have nothing else to do but need some reading matter while perched on your own pissoir: Houses de plaisir were legalized in around 1802. Closed 1946, when brothels were outlawed. In 1878, one of high standing, Le Chabanais, opened. Among great bordellos of fin-de-siècle Paris, the place was renowned for its extravagance. Exotic bedrooms were decorated in styles like the Turkish Chamber, the Pompeii Room, the Japanese Salon. On occasion, accompanying the busy future King Edward VII, some foreign dignitaries made pit stops. M.S. Rau Antiques in New Orleans has clients like Oprah, Ozzy, Nicolas Cage, Prince’s wife Mayte — but so far nobody’s bought the Royal Sex Chair. They’re selling the very private privy for $68,500. (Toilet paper not included.) When this newspaper suggested it as a wedding gift for piggy me-me-Meghan and her unemployed former Highness husband — who some speculate just glommed as much as $1 million off oinking to JP Morgan types in Miami and are sponging free as houseguests right now — it was listed at $128,500. I mean, we’re talking almost half-price now. Might the couple spring for this historic, possibly useful keepsake? I’ll work on getting them even more of a discount. 1 Like 1 Share |

Be yourself and live life to the fullest. Do not give room for any stupid thoughts to germinate in your head. ![]() |

Only in naija can you hear this type of skewed arguments. Power fears nothing, not even God. You don't need to look further than your nose to see this happening. How well is Burundi governed by their God-fearing man? What about zambia, is it not the same man i hear was a pastor who on his coronation pretended to be possessed by the spirit that is today giving the country away to china for free? Why not just keep Buhari and his vice, aren't they god-fearing already? Whatever that means.

A lecturer in the University of Buea, threatens to eliminate a females student who had to give herself in exchange for marks to a course. The lecturer acting like a mafia boss ranted through text messages shared on social media by the female student in question, how he was capable of getting away with anything because people of his kind were the ones in control of the town. This for a lecturer is just unbelievable and despicable. People like these who prey on the vulnerable in our communities need to be exposed and shamed.

cleatoris: THE ABDUCTION OF CAMEROON DISSIDENTS IN ABUJA: A PROTEST General Buhari is a specialist at kidnapping and abduction. In the months following the military takeover which brought him and Tunde Idiagbon to power an attempt was made to kidnap Umaru Dikko in the UK and to smuggle him out of London through Heathrow airport in diplomatic luggage. The plan was simple but deadly. An Israeli anaesthetist was hired to anaesthetize their target and stay with him in the big box which was the Nigerian diplomatic luggage. Unfortunately, police dogs at the airport were able to sniff it and Umaru Dikko was rescued. It is therefore not surprising that Buhari's military instincts in the era of brutal dictatorship are still very alive. Nigeria must not allow this man to ruin the reputation of this country. It is no secret to all Nigerians that the Anglophone people of the Cameroons are maltreated by their francophone counterparts. I studied with many Cameroonian in Uniben and UI and the stories I knew about that country were the same from two sets of people in different locations. Cameroon is a perpetual police state where rights are abused, elections are rigged and extra judicial killings abound. We Nigerians have embraced a thriving democratic culture and must not condone our government's attempt to promote tyranny on the continent. On Friday 5 January, elements of our secret service, working in tandem with the police state of Cameroon kidnapped twelve dissidents from a hotel in Abuja. The plane and everything needed to hand the dissidents over to Cameroon had been finalized, but a Brigadier General cautioned that some time be given, because he feared that they will be executed summarily. The cost of the operation was 500,000 USD, cash, paid when the Cameroon minister of interior last came to Abuja. My Fellow Citizens, it is no news that our country has suffered Hunan rights abuse before and saw people like Ken Sari Wiwa hanged, Shehu Musa Yaradua injected with a poisoned needle, with Obasanjo only surviving narrowly from the poisoned needle of Colonel Yakassai, etc. The God fearing people of Nigeria should think of the pain they once suffered under Abacha and not allow such pain to be visited on the Anglophones in Cameroon. I am making this very loud call to the President of the FRN to desist from adding salt to the injuries of the English speaking people of Cameroon. In the days ahead, I will personally mastermind an international campaign against the Federal Govt if steps are not taken to release the twelve dissidents. Buhari should not give Nigeria a bad name. We are freedom loving and peace loving. Osagie Dare, Esq. Ikoyi, Lagos Nigeria |
https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2018/01/07/gunmen-abduct-cameroon-separatist-leader-in-abuja/ The Nigerian government should not break the brotherly relationship that have always existed between Nigerians and Southern cameronians the arrest of unarmed southern cameroons leaders by heavily armed Nigerian government agents was a show of aggression that have shocked most southern cameronians around the world. the feeling of betrayal is high because most southern cameronians have always considered Nigeria as a second home. the shock and frustration is turning to anger in many towns and they are already calls by some hot headed people who cannot manage their frustration and anger for retaliation by attacking Nigerian businesses and families. Though many reasonable southern cameronians would not fall for this cheap campaign the risk of something stupid happening is high, in fact very high. Despite separating from Nigeria in 1961, in a fraudulent plebiscite organised by the United Nations Southern cameroonians have always maintained their attachment to Nigeria through business and education. In 2015, Nigeria exported goods amounting to 732 million dollars to Cameroon. Of this amount, I suspect over $500 was consumed by southern cameronians. The trade between these two people is huge. In addition to trade the people of Southern Cameroons and Nigeria share many common values. The trade and hospitality shown to Nigerians by Southern cameronians disturbed the francophone government in Yaounde in the 1990s at the height of the Nigerian movie industry that a senior French speaking government official who visited Kumba in southern cameroons thought he was in Nigeria. He was so shocked that he recommended that something be done to break the relationship with Nigeria. Soon after a campaign of harassment of Nigerian businessmen began but quickly failed because many southern cameronians gave cover to their fellow English speaking Nigerians. Such was the relationship and it was expected that the same hospitality will be shown southern cameronians by Nigerians if circumstances demanded. It was thus shocking for many to see the Nigerian government show such aggression towards people who ran to Nigeria to seek refuge in the belief that they were among their kind and thus safe. |

It would be interesting to know what they would be charged for. Holding of a meeting without notifying the authorities? Why was the police not used if it was a case of breaking the laws of the land? I thought Nigeria was a Liberal and democratic country where human rights and freedoms are respected. Why use the DSS armed to the teeth to effect the arrest? Was the government expecting the group to be armed and ready to resist arrest? Is the group considered a terrorist organisation? So you think it is ok to go to a neighbouring country to discuss how to push your home government out of power? We're they given assurances or clearance to do so? Do you realise what you are really talking about ? Are you speaking out of hate for the government or what is right to do?
|
