After series of meetings with the traditional Rulers of the various villages where they have been one form of Fulani herdsmen attack or any form of attack from herdsmen, the Governor came up with this resolution.
Resolutions reached yesterday by the Governor of Benue State Samuel Ortom, Security outfit and the Idoma traditional Council:

1. Fulani Herdsmen are free to graze the pastures anywhere, but must not be
hostile to host communities.
2. Fulani Herdsmen/host Community must co-exist mutually in sincerity of purpose.
3. The host Communities/Fulanis must have records of Fulanis settled in their
communities via a t meeting and assessment.
4. Fulanis must have representative and spokeperson to the host communities.
5. Indigenous Fulanis (Fulanis born and brought up in the host community)
must not allow external Fulanis to encroach the host communities either by visit or by grazing.
6. No party should take the laws into their hands should any tres is done
either by Fulani Cattles or Host Communities' Farmers; instead reports should
be made first to the Community Leader who will carry out further investigations with necessary security agency.
7. Local committees. Formed in each community with a larger body at the Local
Govt Headquarters, both comprises of Fulanis living in such communities.
8. Arm amnesty extended to zone c
9 Local govts for one Month with strict adherency as defaulters would be forced to submit arms amidst tough stances. This is with references to the restiveness and cult related activities in Otukpo and Okpokwu and Oju Local Govts. Amnesty committees would be set up within the 9 LGs immediately.
9. Both Benue and Nassarawa State Govts would hold a t Security meeting
that would stop external Fulanis' migration from that axis into Benue. It has
been noticed that such were the ones either hired or invited or aggressively
encroached our land to carry out terrorism acts.
10 All Idoma traditional Leaders in all the villages are of the committee set up to be watch-dogs of their immediate communities; as well, the representative of the Fulanis inclusive.
11 The Police Commissioner is to hold an urgent security briefing and meeting
with all political Parties. To Warn against using Thugs and miscreants as this
would endanger the lives and properties of the land. Such meeting would involve
all contestants and aspirants.
12. Such town hall security meetings would be from time to times to enable peace and tranquility in the land.

Meanwhile, it was noticed or said that there are no more Fulanis in Apa and
Agatu LGs, but in the remaing 7 LGs. Also youths are advised to submits arms and collect financial compensation as those who willingly submit their illegal arms will not be punished or arrested for any crime!

Former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, visited Governor Samuel Orton of Benue State some weeks ago and urged the All Progressives Congress (APC)
government to fulfill all campaign promises made to the people during the
campaigns. It is now up to APC to heed the advice or not, but whatever their
finally decision is on the advice, here are 5 reasons put together by
INFORMATION NIGERIA on why they should heed Obasanjo’s
advise…
– Campaign promises such as bringing back Chibok girls, eradicating terrorism
and insurgency, stopping corruption, creating two million jobs every year, providing
uninterrupted electricity supply among others must be kept otherwise it would only
undermine the change they stand for.
– It would give Nigerians the impression that they are not different from the
PDP after all.
– It would undermine their chances of returning to power in 2019.
– It would make APC a party of lies and Buhari will forever loose his integrity
before Nigerians.
– Nigeria needs to develop ASAP, and the government of the day has a vital
role to play in ensuring this happens, therefore Nigerians will not forgive the
APC if things remain thesame after four years.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Oyegun has described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP’s) comment about President Buhari being afraid of Sambo Dasuki’s 2019 presidential ambition, as childish.

Oyegun also said the PDP should have known that the law will catch up with them for mis-managing Nigeria.

Speaking through the party's National Publicity Secretary, Edegbe Odemwingie, APC’s helmsman said “Clearly, the PDP has chosen to blame everyone but itself for the sorry state it finds itself. The PDP should have known that it will pay for its years of impunity, recklessness and shocking mis-management of the country’s commonwealth. PDP who are genuinely inspired by the APC-led istration are welcome to the APC fold. It is their right to abandon a sinking ship and one that is smooth-sailing.”

Oyegun also added that PDP’s antics will not stop the President from prosecuting anyone found guilty of corruption.

He also assured Nigerians that the war against corruption is not selective, as reported in most quarters.

The National Chairman said “The PDP speaks of a presidential directive to security agencies and judiciary to “coerce” and “convict” PDP leaders and officials of the immediate-past istration with corruption charges. Clearly such abuse of presidential directives was a concept invented and effectively deployed by the PDP during its defunct 16-year rule. The APC is a law-abiding party and cannot adopt such diabolical concept. The APC believes strongly in the rule of law, as against the kind of impunity Nigeria witnessed under the PDP for 16 years.”

Adding that “The preoccupation of the APC and President Muhammadu Buhari is to deliver on all the promises made to Nigerians by the party during the 2015 election. Looking back at the last seven months, there are clear indicators showing that the APC and the President Buhari istration is on the right track to delivering on its Change Agenda.”

Oyegun also said it does not concern APC, who PDP chooses to field as their presidential candidate, adding that the law has stipulated the requirements for anybody who wants to run for political office.

The spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Olisa Metuh, recently released a statement claiming that President Buhari and other APC leaders are afraid of former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

Metuh also said since the PDP zoned the presidency to the North for the 2019 elections, APC has come out to persecute anyone that may likely emerge has PDP candidate for the election.

No president of Nigeria EVER takes an oath to uphold the rulings of the Supreme Court. His oath is to uphold the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and to see that the laws ed are faithfully executed....as Bryan Fisher rightly puts:
"It is a legal fiction that Supreme Court rulings are “ law.” They are not . They are just what we call them , rulings . A ruling is not a law".

FAREWELL 2015...

Farewell 2015, God Bless You
Good years in a wink
The cup is broken before you finish a drink
The bad ones each day, a hell, an inferno
Sheepishly creeping in, you made tall promises Peace, tranquility, harmony,
End of conflict, strife and poverty, Rule of Law, good governance,
redeeming of grievances

Your promises fell by the way side
The high and mighty you served
Like your predecessors You reincarnated Hitler, Mussolini and Caesars
Humbleness vanished, ruled arrogance and pride
To Syria & Iraq you gifted ISIS
In Afghanistan and Pakistan you created crisis
Nigeria and Camoroon the cruel hands of death were let loose
For the afflicted, anguish and pain you choose

You were a silent spectator to Israel’s atrocities
Like Nero you fiddled when Nigeria burnt
The cries & wailings of Nigerian women & children fell on deaf ears; didn't
melt your hardened heart
You unleashed sufferings to Nigerians in Borno
You saw the kidnap of school children in Chibok
You sat and observed the wickedness of BH And kept alive our corrupt
leaders in Nigeria

Which good deed will you boast about
It is best for you now quietly to slip out
And allow me to welcome two thousand and sixteen
See the seed of New Year’s dawn sprout
With radiant shine & glow of hope on its face
The new year may as well enter the race
May through Almighty's sublime grace
The conflicts & sufferings to leave no trace

Exit 2015, enter 2016
May tomorrow promise a life tranquil and serene

The Idoma culture is perhaps one of the most fascinating cultures in Nigeria.
Exceptionally proud of their native heritage, the Idoma people have preserved many of their ancestors’ traditions, a number of them present in their mixture of elaborate traditional tales, artistic expressions, music and varied culture elements.
Like any other society, Idoma People reveal their customs, traditions, beliefs,
norms and lifestyle through the distinctive behavioral traits.

The Idoma people are not only found in Benue state.
The popular idea is that the Idoma are an ethno-linguistic group primarily found in the western areas of Benue State, Nigeria.
This is because they are the second largest group in the state and occupy 9 local
government areas (L.G.A.’s) which include: Ado, Agatu, Apa, Obi,Ohimini, Obadiah, Oju, Okpokwu & Otukpo .

Aside from the western parts of Benue, this tribe have sparse settlements in
other parts of the country, including Nassau away and Cross Rivers States .

Below are five interesting facts about this great nation:

1.The men are obliged by tradition to pound yam for their wives Unlike other cultures where the woman is expected to perform all culinary chores, the Idoma men are not always exempted.
The traditional head of Otukpo, Och’Otukpo John Eimonye, stated in an interview with Daily Trust Newspaper that the job of pounding yam is one of the
expectations of the Idoma men and serves as a masculine chore when considered from hygienic, social and cultural viewpoints. This interesting detail thrills not just outsiders who learn of it but the indigenes who practice it as well.

2.The people strongly believe in the ‘ Alekwu spirit’
With the advent of Christianity and other foreign religions, the traditional belief
systems of most ethnic groups in the country has been influenced by western practices.
However, a majority of the Idoma people still believe strongly in the Alekwu , which is seen as a link between the living and the dead.
They host an annual ‘Aje Alekwu’ festival where traditional religious practitioners
commune and make sacrifices in worship of their ancestors across the land.
The Idomas have strong attachment to the worship of Alekwu- spirit of the ancestors which is believed to stand as an invisible watchdog of the family and communities while checkmating vices like adultery, theft and murder.

3. The groom and the rooster
While the marriage rites and customs of the Idoma people is not unlike that of the Iron and some other south- eastern cultures, there are specific aspects that clearly distinguish their tradition.
One of those specific aspects is the fact that the groom and his family have to present the bride with a rooster and some money on the marriage day after the dowry has already been paid. If she accepts, it is a sign of approval and disinterest if she reject the gift. While there are no certain reasons to justify the need for a rooster, it remains an interesting part of the ceremony.

4. Language Diversity
Classified as a minority ethnic group and often mistaken to be part of the Igbo tribe, the Idoma people are known for one language – Idoma, which is classified in the Akweya subgroup of the Ideford languages of the Volta–Niger family.
With a population estimated to be about 3.5 million, varied dialects have over time
emerged from the umbrella of this mother-tongue and they include ‘Western Idoma’ chiefly spoken by the Okpokwu and Ogbadibo local government areas; ‘Central Idoma’ spoken by Otukpo and Ohio initial people; ‘Southern Idoma’ largely spoken
by Ado communities and ‘Northern Idoma’ spoken by the Agatu & Apa regions.

5. The Okoho Soup
The Idoma people are known for their love of food, as there is an annual food festival in Benue State to celebrate women and the various traditional cuisines.
Most popular among their delicacies is the Okoho soup which is made with the peculiar Okoho plant, bush meat and many other ingredients.

obua:
You are in error. 1 kilo of chicken contains about 250 grams of protein
Sir, what's your point of argument
Pls correct me where am wrong, mister ITK..!!!
aoyih(m): 3:16pm On Nov 24, 2015
The average Nigerian consumes about 100 grams of protein a day, which
is much higher than actually required by the body – 55-65 grams per
day if you weigh 150 lbs.
Could excess consumption of protein be deleterious to one’s health?

Proteins are the building blocks of our muscles. Having 10-15 grams of
protein per meal or snack can help maintain satiety. In recent years, protein
has emerged as the only nutrient people feel good about consuming. Fat has
been vilified for decades, and is high in calories, while carbs are considered
fattening as well.

The risks of excess protein intake can be divided into 2 areas: kidney
disease and cancer.

Protein metabolism requires work by the kidneys. Excess protein means a
strain on kidneys. For most people, this is not an issue; folks with kidney
disease need to reduce their protein intake. Another problem with too much
protein is calcium depletion which can lead to osteoperosis and kidney stones.

Some studies have shown that a very high protein diet is correlated with an
increased risk of some types of cancer. However, a distinction needs to be
made between the sources of protein. Apparently, plant based proteins are
not harmful at all, while intake that is based mostly on meat and dairy
protein may be harmful.

New research presented this week at the European Congress on
Obesity points to a risk of weight gain and death when people with a
potential for heart disease consume a high protein diet.

If you are dieting, you may be confused right now. On the one hand protein
helps with satiety, yet on the other hand you should not eat too much.
The answer is to distribute your protein consumption evenly throughout the day.
Don’t wait till dinnertime for a huge steak with 50 grams of protein.
Have some protein as a part of every meal and snack.

Often I have heard people say a lot of shabby things about dating or marrying an Economist.
For a better understanding, I have taken out time to increase and tutor you more on the reasons why you shouldn't Date an Economist.

Below are 21 Reasons why you shouldn't Date an Economist:

1. Economists may be dangerous. Watch out for the
invisible hands!

2. It won’t matter what you supply, they will always
demand more.

3. They consider selfish behavior the most natural thing
in the world.

4. They prefer doing it with models and dummies.

5. Economists habitually deflate everything.

6. They like their love lives like they like their markets:
free and open.

7. On average they are pretty mean.

8. And definitely too trendy.

9. They will never be happy with you as you are, they will
always want you to grow.

10. They require a lot of stimulus in order to expand.

11. They will spend their lives trying to predict your
behavior.

12. They consider you perfectly substitutable.

13. They’ll only like you if you have plenty of elasticity.

14. They will always think that there is an acceptable
level of unemployment.

15. As soon as you are happy in the relationship they’ll
burst your bubble.

16. They’ll only be into you if you have plenty of boom
and bust.

17. They’ll never say “I Love you” only that “You optimise
my utility”.

18. They will rate your kids’ advancement into a Human
Development Index.

19. They will establish very clear household property
rights to avoid the tragedy of the commons.

20. If you ever get depressed, they’ll lower their interest
rate to zero.

21. They might collect a stratified household survey of
family and friends, run regression and cluster analyses
and check for heteroskedasticity before deciding to
commit to you. (On the plus side you might get to see
what your love looks like as a formula).

I hope you now have a better reason not to date an Economist...

Similar to cigarettes, hookah smoking delivers the addictive
drug nicotine and it is at least as toxic as cigarette
smoking. While many hookah smokers may consider this
practice less harmful than smoking cigarettes, hookah
smoking carries many of the same health risks as
cigarettes.
Hookahs are water pipes that are used to smoke specially
made tobacco that is usually flavored. They are also called
a number of different names, including waterpipe, narghile,
argileh, shisha, hubble-bubble, and goza. Hookah smoking
is typically practiced in groups, with the same mouthpiece
ed from person to person.

In recent years, there has been an increase in hookah use
around the world, most notably among youth and college
students.

The Risk
According to a study published in the 2012 issue of CDC's
Preventing Chronic Disease (PCD ) , many hookah smokers
believe that smoking a hookah carries less risk of tobacco-
related disease than cigarette smoking. However, hookah
smoke contains many of the same harmful toxins as
cigarette smoke and has been associated with lung cancer,
respiratory illness, low birth weight, and periodontal disease.

According to a report from the World Health Organization
(WHO), a hookah smoking session may expose the smoker to more smoke over a longer period of time than occurs when smoking a cigarette. Also, due to the method of smoking—including frequency of puffing, depth
of inhalation, and length of the smoking session—hookah
smokers may absorb higher concentrations of the same
toxins found in cigarette smoke.

Hookah Smoke and Cancer

The charcoal used to heat tobacco in the hookah
increases the health risks by producing smoke that
contains high levels of carbon monoxide, metals, and
cancer-causing chemicals.

A typical 1-hour-long hookah smoking session involves
200 puffs, while an average cigarette is 20 puffs. The
volume of smoke inhaled during a typical hookah
session is about 90,000 milliliters, compared with 500
to 600 milliliters inhaled when smoking a cigarette.
Using a hookah to smoke tobacco poses a serious
potential health hazard to smokers and others exposed
to the emitted smoke.

With this, you should therefore be informed that smoking Shisha doesn't make you a different from someone that smokes cigarette. Just know that smokers are liable to lung cancer and thus are liable to die young.
