It should
555w * 3 = 375k
12v 2kva 230-260k (cworth/SMS)
12V 100AH LFP * 2 from cworth (less than 400k)
Or 12v 3.5kwh LFP 450k (if he doesn't mind wooden box)
PV cables, 2.5mm corper cables , breakers (if he isn't buying the brands) will cost him about 120 - 140k

Thank you so much for this insight, really appreciate it. Sorry to bother you further, Is the Cworth batteries coupled with bms already? I would prefer a coupled lifepo4 ready to use battery for him as he's not a DIY person.

I have a neighbour who is interested in solar because he saw how reliable my own system is, problem is that he has a lean budget (1.1m). @valto and other gurus in the house, can his budget setup a reliable 12v system with a lifepo4 battery+hybrid inverter+reasonably sized solar s?

What would you recommend? My setup is a 24v system, and he can't afford that. Thank you

be more creative and read more before buying to avoid further wasting of money and time. I know the domain is already more than 60 days old for dynadot to send you this. So no need of refund. That little resources can turn to big if you invest right.

Hello Boss, is this domain a good name that i should renew: colorslot.com ? I don't know if i should renew as the renewal fee is $13.

Thank you

Good afternoon bosses, hope business is going fine. I ed the below names last year after training, and I only outsourced once, but didn't have much time for domaining again as I'm occupied with some other hustle.

Below are the names:

bostonkitchenremodeling/king
chicagogarageconstruction/king
lasvegascraneservices/king
richmondcardetailing/king

I don't plan to renew them as I do not have the fund nor time to outsource, is there a way I could put them up for sale like a bundle for a change? If not, whoever is interested should look out for them...

Thanks

45W is in accordance with stated Idle consumption <=50W.

Nice inverter, I just hope they will honor warranty.

Is there a reason you did not add a 6th (550w) to make the Maximum output power of 3300w for the pv?

Do you know if your installer followed the inverter manual stated Breaker sizes and wire gauges?

1 - It was because of financial constraints at the time.

2 - I am not sure, but I think he did.

whats the voc of the 550w s, what is the maximum instantenous harvest you have witnessed, and what is the max and average daily harvest?

I can't the voc... I bought it from Techland solar.

So far, I've gotten 1.7kw instantenous harvest (not as much as i was expecting), but I made a mistake of telling my installer to split the s at different side of the roofs (2 at the front and 3 by the side) I later read this could affect yield because of diff temperature and lighting...

I don't know if I've used a separate mppt, I would be getting more yield... however, I'm satisfied with the current yield because it cover my needs at the moment.

I have no source to see what my daily harvest is..

Nice one, thanks for update.

Did you connect all the listed Appliances at same time?

Did you also connect the inverter to earth system/grounding?

Are you batteries Lead or LIFEPO4?

My battery is a Lifepo4, I do connect fridge and freezer while pumping at noon.

My setup is 24v. 5*550w Canadian solar s, and my battery is 228ah (24v pack) lithium.

I didn't do the connections myself, I have a close relative installer who did that. But I believe he connected earthing wire to the inverter, and it's the one made for the mains (even though I'm not connected to mains anymore, I'm fully offgrid).

Hello bro, do you mind sharing your experience with your SRNE hybrid inverter?

Hi boss, the inverter is working great. No issue whatsoever.

I'm using it to power my freezer and fridge (not inverters ones), 0.75 interdab submersible pump (during the day), lighting, fans, laptop and other small stuffs. However, I haven't gone over 50% load capacity yet since I've gotten it.

I don’t know much about headphones but I can say this is hands down the best 11k spent on any headphone
This particular model was gotten on Saturday from a vendor from Nairaland and I kid you not
The packaging is impressive
Sound quality is awesome and yes
The noise cancellation works like magic
The moment I have it on
Every other things stay out of my head,it’s just me and my headset in another world
You won’t hear a single voice or sound from your environment
I’d score this headset a solid 8.5/10
Price is good, sound is amazing and lastly it can last for 7-8 hours on a single charge (I confirmed)
And uses a usb type c(included in the box)

I just got one too from @ceenachi, he has a great customer service and went out of his way to deliver the headphone to me... The headphone sounds good as well and I like the packaging.

The JiaBaida BMS has an 8S version. If you are in doubt about the version you need, you can message the seller directly to guide you on the specific model that you need to select before making payment. The active balance function is meant to keep your cells balanced and spreads the cells voltage from high voltage cells to low voltage cells. This function occurs over a period of days as you actively cycle your cells. This is not the same as top balancing new cells before connecting them to a BMS and starting to use it.

Top balancing a cell depends on a lot of variables chief among them being that the internal resistance of your batteries are closely matched as possible. Another is that your cells pull the full capacity of their name plate 280ah should pull 280ah or higher not 220ah. To be sincere with you, most of the people i know and even i will recommend taking the time and top balancing your cells well with an external charger before commissioning them. Even with Lead Acid batteries. This is because the cells arrive at a lower state of charge (30%) and charging them to full saves you a lot of headache in the future. You can go ahead and couple the cells together and charge them with the BMS with the expectation that the active balancer will smoothen things over time but why take the risk of a runaway cell voltage bringing your system down.

Thank you so much for the in depth explanation... Fully comprehend it now. Stay blessed

Daly BMS is a good BMS brand and affordable. Another two brands you can check out also is Jiabaida & Jikon BMS both on AliExpress. They come with active balancers and are in use by many DIY enthusiasts on this thread. I however prefer the Jiabaida (JBD) for its use by multiple OEMS like OverKill BMS https://overkillsolar.com/ who customize it further and update the software.

After in depth research, I've gone for the JBD. I realise I could just ask the JBD CS on aliexpress questions I might have bothering the bms installation. smiley
Total ordering cost = $84

Thank you boss. This Jiabaida (JBD) BMS looks complex (but interesting) to me compared to Daly. What's really confusing is the number of wires that came with it. The Daly for example came with the right amount of cable mouth (8s = 8 pieces of cable to attach to the battery) which seems pretty straightforward. I am expecting a 24v battery setup which will use a BMS 8s, where will the rest of the wires go assuming I'm using a JDB BMS? I have attached a screenshot of the wire that I'm referring to.

Additionally, does the balancer that comes with the JBD means I won't need to worry about my Cells not having a balanced charge out of the box, meaning that once I use JBD bms, it will balance them automatically, and I won't have to worry about looking to balance the cells before setting them up?

Kindly enlighten me on these... Thanks!

Edited: Also boss, from the little research I've carried out, I want to ask if it's necessary to top balance the lifepo4 cells when you buy them from 3.2v to let's say 3.5-3.6v?
Would the output performance became worse overtime if I didn't?

Because I noticed that to top balance a battery, you need a power source that needs to run for hours (if not days depending on the cell capacity you have), set to a certain amps, and I noticed that this needs to be done by someone that knows what they are doing in order not to fry the battery by overcharging them.

Some videos I watched even claimed that the active top balancer that comes with bms is not entirely reliable...

@ojesky
@valto
Kindly help share your thoughts on this.

Thanks

Your welcome cool cool.

Glad to hear it worked out. You can add a wifi dongle to the inverter for remote monitoring & communication later as an upgrade. cool cool

Try and get those Yingli s from their office since its been confirmed to be in stock. You won't regret it. Hope you get a very good 100A BMS for your LifeP04 batteries. Don't forget to use rated breakers and surge protection in the install of your inverter. Also, let it be properly grounded and connected to your earth system to avoid surge/lightning strikes that can damage your system.

Hi boss, is this BMS brand okay?

I'm planning to buy all this small stuffs before getting the s next month.

I will recommend you get a 24v 3.5kva SRNE Hybrid inverter with a built-in MPPT (150v). A 3.5kva should be able to handle all your current & future loads (deep freezer) and with a built-in MPPT saves you the cost of buying a separate charge controller. SRNE is also a good brand with an authorized dealer in Lagos for your warranty issues. But dollar prices are going up so you may need to adjust your budget a little. Mr Ugo below for a quote. For solar s, i recommend you get Yingli solar s from their dealer in Lagos. A 380W or 450W should be okay for your setup (8 pieces). Yingli solar s are budget friendly and far more reliable than those nameless chinese s that are flooding the market.

Good start you can either run 12v in Parallel (cheapest route) if your inverter s lithium charging or you get a 24v inverter and run your cells in 24v....all the best

Thank you boss, I'm planning to setup a 24v system with the batteries, so I know I will need to buy a new 24v inverter. The problem is that I don't know which brand of inverter to buy yet that is not too expensive but reliable (the Microtek I bought developed fault within 6 months of usage) and the capacity that's ideal for my setup... Also whether to buy inverter first or be buying s one by one.

Might I add that I currently have #200k to invest this month towards the project, so I want to invest it wisely... Thank you
androsurf: 5:33am On Nov 01, 2022
I hail and thank all the bosses in the house, and I appreciate the immense effort of everyone helping we the newbies.

I currently have a 12v setup, which includes:
2 x 100ah lead acid
4 x 100w s
12v 1050 microtek inverter (it doesn't charge with grid anymore, only from solar s. It used to charge from both source when it was first installed last year Oct).

Now, I planning to upgrade, and people around me said the battery is the first component that one needs to acquire, so I ordered 8 pieces of CATL130ah from Alibaba which I'm expecting to be delivered around Dec/January.

I plan to be getting the other materials needed little by little because funds are not readily available. I need help on what to focus on getting next which is very important and can help with my system.

And I also need the best setup recommendation to get the optimum output functionality from the batteries. I currently have a load of around 1020 watts: (1 TV, 1 fridge, 1 laptop, 1 ps4, 2 qasa rechargeable fans, 1 OX fan (rated 150w) and several light bulbs (security light included)) and I hope to get a freezer in the future.

I'm planning to buy all components one by one (depending on my financial capability) and then call an installer to help with it as my knowledge is not enough to DIY at the moment.

Thank you...
