Jagaban2012:
The earlier Nigerian youths were aware of Deji Adeyanju And Omoyele Sowere are using their Pseudo protest to cash out the better for them....

This is the same logic used by the Student Union Government (SUG) leaders of many Nigerian public higher education institutions....

75 percent of the Aluta protests or riots you see in various Nigerian institutions are not organic...someone somewhere financed it...
Omoyele Sowere cashed out with all these kinds of things when he was iSuG leader in higher education and thought he should keep doing it because he is no longer in school...and by this conduct, he has so many financiers all over the world.....

late chief Gani Faweyinmi and some few others who has past on are the people that does not this government or institution with no string attached. As a matter of fact Gani Faweyinhimi lose his SAN position numerous times because he doesn't want to play along with the government of the day.....Gani Faweyinhim lose a lot. ...and this was during the military government . . I doubt of Sowers can attempt this kind of conduct during the miliatry government. .. ......the rest are some protest. ...most especially , the # ENDSARs protest and its conveners. .. from the protest , you will know that people highly and rich people really sponsored that protest. ...though they didn't achieve their aim but they really come for the government of the day

If Sowore, Deji Adeyanju, David Hundeyin, etc are making loads of money from their bold action of speaking to POWER, why are many Nigerians not doing this? Yes, some international donors their causes but believe me, it is a yeoman job they are doing.

I understand that today is #InternationalMensDay. Some have encouraged men to talk about their mental health. Let me talk about mine. You can do any psychoanalysis you want. I don’t care. I just want to vent as a man.

As a man, I am likely to die before a woman of the same age. I can’t complain though. I think I got a good deal biologically. No bodily changes each month. No need to enhance my hair, eye lashes, eye brows, ears, lips, nails, etc. I can just shower, brush my hair, use a moisturiser and go!

I think that my life is a life of sacrifice. I have to protect and provide. I don’t mind that but it can be hard sometimes. I can’t complain though. I think it’s harder having to give birth, nurturing a family, and still be expected to provide as well. And to still have to protect my man from harm, including his inclination for self harm.

Sometimes, I don’t want to talk. I would like some time to think and plan. That I am not talking doesn’t mean there is anything wrong. It doesn’t mean there’s any issue between us. I just crave some silence.

As a man, I solve problems by thinking, not by talking it over with anyone. That I want some time to myself doesn’t mean I am not blissfully happy in your presence or that I want to be with another woman or to hang with boys. It’s just me and my brain.

However, I have been told that that doesn’t work in a relationship. I can’t complain though. After all, it’s not only me. I have to accommodate the fact that my woman may prefer to solve problems by talking them through. I hear that the approach of talking through problems is the better approach. It doesn’t work for me though. I would rather analyse the issue and think through a clear path to a solution BEFORE I talk about it.

It is not that I want to exclude my woman. I just want to deal with the issue the best way I know how. I feel that by the time I come to talk about it, I should have a plan. I believe that having a plan will reassure my woman. I don’t want to go into a discussion of the problem without at least the makings of a plan.

I actually never feel under-appreciated. I don’t feel
the need for any appreciation. I have a duty to do and I just do it. I can’t complain. It’s not a competition. If it were, I would lose every time because her job is harder than mine. However, there is blood flowing through my own veins too.

With financial and career success, my needs have actually become very few. Just love, food, alcohol, sex and peace. However, I must accept that my spouse may want more. Like more talk. More romance. More show of affection. I must try harder.

I feel incredibly lucky. I can’t imagine changing my surname and taking another person’s surname. Some even take the surname AND first name ( like Mariam Joe-Abah). Why? 🤷🏽‍♂️ I can’t imagine leaving my church or religion to take on my spouse’s. I won’t do that for anybody. I also won’t have spent all day at work and come back home to cook for anybody. Not even for myself! So, I can’t complain.

I know that no one is coming to save me. It’s me against the world. I am expected to always be the bigger person. After all, I must never be caught “behaving like a woman.” However, do not be surprised if I say No sometimes. Don’t be surprised if I am sometimes stubborn just for the sake of it, even when there is no apparent benefit from that stubbornness. Don’t be confused about the fact that I am not afraid of death or scared of any living being.

Finally, I am
Incredibly lucky to have the love of a good woman. I am a man. That is who I am. Everything I’ve said is not me complaining. I actually feel incredibly privileged and you don’t know how content I am. Still, today is a good day to celebrate me. When I’m dead, it won’t matter to me anymore.

Happy #InternationalMensDay to all men out there.

End of rant! 😂

Reuben Abati, a former media adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has criticised President Bola Tinubu's sons, Seyi and Yinka, for loitering around the Aso Rock Villa like "men without personal purposes in life."

Abati, who expressed his dissatisfaction on Wednesday, during Arise TV "The Morning Show" which he co-anchors with fellow journalists Oseni Rufai and two others described the President’s sons as ''jobless invalids.”

He also lambasted Tinubu for including Seyi and Yinka among his team that visited Qatar last weekend and giving them more diplomatic preference than his ministers.

SaharaReporters earlier reported how Seyi and Yinka were among the delegation that travelled with the President on a state visit to Doha, Qatar which was scheduled for March 2 and 3, 2024

Reacting, Abati said, “What I am saying is that first Nigerians complain that they should not have been on that list, the issue raised there is that yes if their father is paying for them to be there, fine. I also raised the question if they have relevant qualifications, if they are business people in their own rights, they can bring investment and they will make contribution. Then you will say they have a reason to be there, What I found disturbing in that video that we just shown, we just show the order of protocol, I spent four years studying diplomacy. They were coming on the order of protocol before the minister of the Federal Republic, what are their roles there that they will be put before the minister?

“May we begin to ask, what do the president’s children do for a living? I don’t know specifically how old they are but looking at them, by the time I was their age, I was doing something concrete with my life. I got a PhD at 24. I wasn’t depending on any father.

“People must get to a stage in their lives when they will hold themselves together, I don’t want adults behaving like invalids hanging around just because your father is in a position. All these children of privilege sometimes overdo it, and these are boys that would probably have wives at home. Some of these girls, what they go through is very embarrassing. You can’t have a husband that’s just hanging around, that cannot stand on his two feet as men.’’

The Office of the First Lady (OFL) is the staff able to the first lady of the United States. The office and its responsibilities, while not constitutionally mandated, have grown as the role of the first lady has grown and formalized through the history of the United States. The Office of the First Lady is an entity of the White House Office, part of the Executive Office of the President. It is located in the East Wing.

The first lady has her own staff that totals 11 in number.

Though the persona, activities, and initiatives of the first lady have always been significant to the history of the United States, the first first lady to hire federally funded staff was Edith Roosevelt, who hired Belle Hagner as the first White House social secretary on October 2, 1901. Eleanor Roosevelt became the first first lady to expand the office beyond social and istrative secretaries by hiring Malvina Thompson as her personal secretary and Jackie Kennedy was the first to employ a press secretary.

Under Rosalynn Carter, the first lady's staff became known as the Office of the First Lady. She organized the office into four major departments: projects and community liaison, press and research, schedule and advance, and social and personal; and was the first to add a chief of staff. She was also the first to move her own work office into the East Wing. Though the role of the office has grown over the years, it primarily s the first lady in promoting the agenda and campaigns of the president. Further to that, it provides for the agenda of the first lady, who chooses causes and initiatives to campaign for during their time at the White House.

Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, has slammed the General Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, for faulting the lifestyle of the late singer, Mohbad.

Mohbad died on September 12, and his death has stirred up controversies on social media, forcing Nigerians to demand justice for him.

Bakare, speaking at church event in the United Kingdom on Sunday, however, faulted Mohbad, saying he was “drinking and smoking” and “reaped the reward of his unpleasant lifestyle while alive”.

“My wife and I listened to a tape last night on MohBad. How many of you know Mohbad? The Nigerian artiste who died at 27? Mohbad,” Bakare asked.

“When he was drinking and smoking and associating with evil men, he did not know that the harvest would come so soon and that he would soon be cut down at the prime of youth.

“I am not blaming him, I am just telling you. Is Mohbad a good name? Mohbad.”

Reacting to Bakare’s statement, Dikeh, blasted Bakare who had not spoken against the ills of his fellow clergymen in the past but condemned Mohbad’s life.

The actress said the late singer was old enough to be the pastor’s last born, but said she would not speak much against him because of the anointing of God upon him.

“When your colleagues are caught with their pants down in unholy sexual activities. We never hear your voice, you never speak nor preach about them,” Dikeh said on her Instagram page.

“It comes to the death of a boy who is old enough to be your last born and you say “HE REAPED THE REWARD OF HIS ACTIONS. What Actions? “Please please please KEEP THE SAME ENERGY with your corrupted colleagues as you just did today.

“It’s the anointing of God upon your head that’s making me not go off on this LOOSE COMMENT OF YOURS.

“I have learnt over the years that if you have nothing nice to say, Keep mute (DONT TALK AT ALL).

“Preach your gospel and leave Mohbad’s name out of your ministration. I don’t respect old age, I respect the wisdom you exhibit at old age.”

_...says judiciary has proven to be the hope of the masses_

Hon. Abubakar Kabir Bichi, the member representing Bichi Federal Constituency, has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his victory at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

In a statement on Friday, he said the judgment is a triumph for Nigerians who showed massive for the All Progressives Congress at the last general elections.

Justice Haruna Tsammani, who led the five-person , said: “This petition accordingly lacks merit. I affirm the return of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the duly elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The parties are to bear their cost.”⁣

Thereafter, the four other Justices unanimously took turns to dismiss the petitions presented by the PDP’s Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s Peter Obi, challenging Tinubu’s emergence as President, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission on March 1, 2023. ⁣

In reaction, Hon. Bichi who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, said the judiciary has again proven to be the hope of the common man.

He said the five-member tenaciously evaluated all the issues raised by the petitioners and delivered a clear verdict on the integrity of Nigeria’s electoral process.

Bichi, however, urged the of the opposition parties to hands with President Tinubu to build a better and prosperous nation.

He reiterated the commitment of the parliament to come up with legislation to the various initiatives of the executive in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.

“I congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima over their victory at the Presidential Election Petitions Court,” he said.

“The affirmation of their election in February this year restores the confidence of Nigerians in the nation’s Judiciary and our electoral processes.

“I also commend the for its resolute and firm posture in ensuring that its judgment was guided by the facts available before the court against unsubstantiated claims.

“The PEPC judgment sends a clear message to politicians that the judiciary understands its limit and refuses to be an arbiter on matters within the jurisdiction of political parties.

“I urge the presidential candidates of the People’s Democratic Party and the Labour Party, to forces with the Tinubu-led istration in delivering good governance to Nigerians.

“On our part, we will come up with necessary legislation to the executive to address the challenges facing our nation. This will be pursued vigorously for the benefit of all."

The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has advised Anambra businessmen and women in Lagos State that Anambra is ready for business and investing in the state will be in their best interest.

Soludo appealed to Anambra people to always think home by imbibing the ‘homeland consciousness’ and to also ensure that part of their taxes are paid to the state, irrespective of where they reside or work.

The governor stated these during a town hall meeting with Anambra residents in Lagos while enumerating some of the progress made so far by his istration after one year in office.

He told his audience to strive to contribute their quota to the development of the state, adding that God did not make a mistake by making them Anambra people.

This is according to a press statement by Soludo’s Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, on Friday.

The governor, therefore, ened the people to reflect deeply on it and do everything possible to contribute to the growth of the state.

He said, “This is the same question I ask myself every day. And we have a responsibility to leave Anambra State better than we met it.

“The need to change Anambra State from a departure lounge to a destination, the homeland consciousness must be inculcated in the perceptual mind of every Onye-Anambra.

“Your host will never respect you if you don’t have a livable and prosperous homeland.”

Soludo further assured his audience that his government is determined to resurrect Onitsha by returning it to its former glory as the biggest commercial city in the South East and beyond.

He insisted that his istration has drastically reduced the menace of killings and kidnapping to the barest minimum with the security architecture put in place by his government.

He commended the Army, Navy, Police, the state’s vigilante group and other paramilitary agencies for their dogged efforts in contributing to the successes recorded so far.

The governor reassured them that law and order has been greatly restored in the state compared to the impunity that held sway before he came into office.

To boost the power supply in the state, he stated that his government recently signed an MOU with the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company for 24 hours supply of electricity in the state.

He, however, ened anyone interested in collaborating with his government to set up Independent Power Plant in the state, is welcome to do so.

He informed the audience that Anambra Investment Summit will be coming up soon in September, urging every business-conscious person to the rest of the world at the summit.

He added that the summit will be “all about closing deals” and agreements’ g. “Anambra is loading and the options are open.”

The event featured key Ndi-Anambra businessmen and women as well as of the State Executive Council.
