If setting up a place for Ndigbo in Gabon and Guinea is for "stategic" reasons like military and manufacturing et. al, then I welcome the idea. I responded the way I did because no Igbo man should vacate hi father's land for our detractors to take over-NEVER. We should rather expand our teritory.

I'm even advising most young Igbo males to get some kind of militia training if they can. I really had high hopes in the Bakassi boys  until they got compromised by the politicians. Them guys were ridding Igbo land of criminals. So much ideas I have, but I can't share them all on this site for strategic reasons. I will just wait until I become a full member of Ohaneze. Again the idea of Gabon as a strategic "base" is splendid.

You sound like one of the "e go better" people.  Reading through some of your post on NL makes me laugh in my biafran accent. grin grin grin grin

Today you want out of nigeria, tommorrow you want nigeria intact, the next you want true federalism like you don't know it will never happen when there is still oil,

another day you want southern nigeria union,,,,,,,,,blah blah blah, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,. You are a typical 'one nigerianist" who will never leave nigeria, but will readily

sabotage the effort of those whose desire is to leave. Again, I de laugh  grin grin grin grin grin grin

I'm really disappointed in you guys, ye men of little faith! You want to leave your land to another because of the presidency. If the survival of the Igbo race depended on you guys in 1966, Ndigbo would have been "toast". The great Ikemba who was born with a silver spoon will have left us to our fate if he had the kind of mentality both of you are displying on this thread. I will advice you to stand your ground, we will get it. We are now playing the real 'nigerian politics' and our detractors don't like it. Ohaneze knows the game, hence the endorsement of GEJ. Ndigbo don't have a problem with a GEJ presidency.
Nigeria will be our playing field, the game the enemy is playing is very easy, all we need to do is beat them in it. Think deeply for a second, why all these article on Igbo political plight. Why don't they quench the fire on their mountain first before trying to quench ours!

Justcash:

My point is that there is need to divide Nigeria. Let people choose their destinies. We cannot be tied down because Abokis needs to catch up.
If the South South decides that they want to be on their own, then why not? Igbos won't force them. Same with mid-belt and mid-westerners. But fact remains that we need to have the right to exercise how we want to exist before progress can be experienced.
Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan is visibly Ijaw, yet with some sign of Igbo in him. So, If he has some Igbo blood flowing in him, then he is Igbo too. That is my point. Peter Odili is Igbo, but he is called a South Southerner.
There is need for Nigeria to divide into different parts. Until we do that, there will be no progress. It will continue to be 1 step forward, 50 steps backwards.

You are very correct, but haven't you realise that we have the "e go better" people who don't want to leave nigeria but will do everything possible to keep people like you in that nigerian dungeon. They will tell you that we need each other, we will be more powerful by staying together, blah, blah,

For me, thees are the people I fear more in of any secession than any govt./aboki action.
alex101(m): 7:04am On Jan 30, 2011
Only a fool will take this writer of  yoruba extraction as being "concerned" for Ndigbo political plight. Everybody seem to be trying to extinguish the fire in the SE while ignoring the fire that is engulfing their zone. To my Igbo brothers, I sense a "political trap" to set us against our eastern minorities. Our for GEJ should not waver, we must remain steadfast in our so as to put the Eyo Ita issue to rest once and for all.

The enemy is despearate and does not want to see a political union between SS and SE, hence trying to sow the seed of acrimony. Ohaneze saw this game of desperation and has defeated in their devilish game. The so called "experts" on Igbo affairs have a problem with a minority (Jonathan) ruling Nigeria, and Ndigbo does not.

The most important thing to note is that Jonathan is not representing the Ijaw. If he were, MEND would not be threatening to resume bombing of oil installations.

I really think that for the first time in a very loooooooooooong time, Ndigbo are actually doing first things first.

I am deeply suspicious of all these non-Igbos who write these articles as if the world would end if an Ijaw or any other Eastern minority operates at the center of evil Nigeria more than us.

NO THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT AND WE LOSE NOTHING.

These same people would wear masks and accuse us of dominating the Eastern minorities and always recite Eyo Ita issue.

Now they are crying that Ijaws are "ahead of Igbo" in national politics. Only a fool would believe that. cool
But even if so, why is it any of their business? Could they love us more than we love ourselves? Definitely not.

I would even want Ndigbo to wait until whenever Jonathan leaves office before attempting the presidency again.

Nigeria is not ending tomorrow, and even if it does, we will still have our Eastern brothers to live with.

Enuff said.

May the wisdom of Solomon and the greate Kings of old be with you and your lineage. AMEN!

@ Ezeuche and Obiaju, think very well, why are our enemies so concerned about our so called political well being all of a sudden. We wll get the no 1 spot at the appropriate time

Thank God you see what I am seeing, this is what I'm trying to relate to mazi Ezeuche, in that it is not religious, but rather ethnic. Ndigbo are not the only group with christians in them, our freinds of the sw have a subtantial christian population in them, so they too should be concerned. For, me I like the idea of our people acting in self defence and not taking side(s). Anybody who will blame Ndigbo for not siding with their "christian brothers" ( I sense a trap) should be reminded of western regional crises and the subsequent good intention of the 5 majors, which was then turned into an "Igbo agenda".
alex101(m): 1:31am On Jan 30, 2011
@ Ezeuche and the rest of my Igbo brothers

I don't want us to see this as a religious conflict, for it is absolutely not. This in my opinion is more of ethnic problem. I emphasize ethnic because I don't want Ndigbo to make the mistake of the '60s. the crisis of the old western region in which 5 patriotic majors thought their actions were going to be received nationally, but instead it turned out to be regarded as an "Igbo agenda" I know we (Ndigbo) share religious faith with berom people, but we must maintain neutrality. We are not their savior, afterall they have all their "brave generals" who can lead them to victory against the hausa/fulani.
We should only defend ourselves if under attack. I say these things not because I hate anybody, but because I love my own people first. The Nigeria of 1966 is very much alive in the Nigeria of 2011. He who has ears let him hear!

@OP and the rest of my yoruba people, I dey greet una "good morning oh!" But why do you people want to leave na, oil in the niger delta is not finished yet, ACN still has two more states to sweep in the SW, and "God father" Tinubu will soon become nigeria's VP under the "messiah" Ribadu. The future is very bright for the SW in "ONE NIGERIA". God bless!

Let me help you understand some things.

I believe that the main job of the COAS is to protect or defend the state (not even the government) against enemies. In Nigeria, it is more like ensuring that there is no coup. If the COAS does that, his job is complete. cool
The army is not the police or the other security agencies whose job it is to keep law and order.
Gen Dambazau did not resign until Yar adua died because of this same reason.

Gen Ihejirika is not going anywhere because the life of the president, and the entire Nigerian state is in his hands. Gerrit now?

As for death of innocent folks in the middle belt, it is easy to see why it is happening. Nigeria's history is pretty young. Nemesis is a b&tch. But as a Christian, I would forgive them if they (as fellow Christians) ask us for forgiveness.
I would not offer forgiveness to anyone who does not ask, because the person would mistake it for weakness and foolishness.
So the bloodbath continues.

As for your fears about a southern Nigeria where Muslims (like yourself) would be in the minority (hence your preference for the status quo), well, that is part of why Easterners may not want it either undecided undecided, because we may not want to continue having sizable number of Muslims in our new country. undecided For that to happen, they must gradually convert to Christianity or revert back to African religion. Both religions understand the sanctity of the human life.
There is something brutal and "Hobessian" about Islam.

There you have it.

@OP, These Igbo leaders sometimes don't cease to amaze me. I am from the school of thought who believe that for Ndigbo to survive and assert themselves anywhere in that nigerian dungeon, they must see nigeria of 1966 as no different from the nigeria of 2011. Only with this 'essential' mindnest will we as a people assert ourselves and those who think they can toil with us will think twice. I'm glad the Igbo in Kano understood this. Igbo business men should arm themselves to the teeth, and defend themselves aainst any uwarranted aggression from this hausa/fulani cowards. Nobody has monopoly of violence.
alex101(m): 8:04pm On Jan 29, 2011
@ wan nem Ezeuche,
Biko stay away from all these so called "southern separatits". If they are really interested in forming a southern union, they should take the lead. Ndigbo will not be the savior of any group again. If the jos/berom/middlebelters want out of the union, I believe they still have Gowon-by theway where is he?
how some soldiers try to restore order during the fracas in the old western region, and it was branded an Igbo agenda. We(Igbo) should concentrate on building our home front. Thanks and God bless. Nigeria of 1966 is still very much alive in the nigeria of 2011.

The people of jos should get the outside world like the UN involved
alex101(m): 6:36pm On Jan 27, 2011
This is the 21st century and borders are being redrawn worldwide, true freedom seekers in the african continent should not miss out in this once in a life time opportunity. Any Nigerian group/geopolital zone that want out of the devil's paradise called nigeria, should press ahead with this quest if it is what they so desire without any fear. They should stand their ground and involve the UN if they can. (MEND can also incoporate international diplomacy into their militant effort if they so wish). The colonial masters carved up africa to suit their selfish desires, it's time to undo this injustice.

To the one nigerianists, again I rebuke you all, woe betide all of you who will not leave the nigerian devil's dungeon but will sabotage the effort of those who desire to forfeit that devilish yoke of a mere "geographical expression". May you and your generation unborn rot in eternal hell fire, where you and your lineage will forever gnash your rotten teeth!
alex101(m): 8:07am On Jan 27, 2011
The parents of these histroy revisionists have fed their children lies about their role in the events leading up to the war. Their forebearers covered up their role in the genocide against biafrans. From kano to jos to lagos to benin, these southern saboteurs ed their hausa/fulani masters in the pogrom of 19966, hence their trying to re-write histroy. We are not fooled. below are facts :
Were middle belters involed in the genocide of 1966: YES
Were Yorubas Involved in the genocide of 1966: YES (in Lagos, Abeokuta, Ibadan et al)
Were midwesterners involved in the genocide : YES ( in Benin)
Now, to the war proper, it is a well known fact that it was the British, USSR, arab league represented by Egypt that gave the overwhelming (full military and diplomatic) to nigeria. Biafra was blockaded by british naval war ship masquerading as nigeria's, with british personnel manning the warship. The soviet bomber jets were actually flown by soviets and egyptian personnel. Even at that, nigerian evil doers who have made a deal with the devil had to resort to use of starvation to finally subdue biafra. So all those one nigerian revisionists can write all they want, the facts remains! On judgement day, we all give of these injustice/wickedness of neighbors against neighbors. I am not interested in convincing anyone to not re-write histroy, or not to cover up the genocide of their parents against mine. All I know is we (biafrans) are proud of our parents' war effort and we shall never forget. Today, I look at the Igbo race with radiant pride and gratitude to God for giving us a leader like the Ikemba Ojukwu during our darkest hour.
alex101(m): 6:11am On Jan 27, 2011
This is to my beloved Igbo brothers: "a su umu wonke lu cha ogu, umu wayi e kwu o kwu di na e". When men are done fighting, the women come out to do the talking! I will like us to ignore all these histroy revisionists who feel it was a bad thing for Ndigbo to stand their ground and fight against aggression. The war effort of all these southern revisonists were and will remain inconsequential in any future conflicts. Smart and discerning folks knows the truth.
Again, ignore these trolls for even if Jesus were to come down from heaven to tell them the truth about the biafran war, they will not believe him. Their hearts have been hardened to believe all the negative stereotypes about Ndigbo. Ndigbo should be careful and seek knowledge/truth about the war of 67-70. The nigeria of 1966 is very much alive in the nigeria of 2011. If any Igbo needs any evidence to this stated fact(s), just take a look (read) around Igbo topics on nairaland.
alex101(m): 5:04am On Jan 27, 2011
Those who don't want to leave the cesspit called nigeria should not sabotage the effort of those whot want to. All these talk of 'e go beta one day' is all bull@hit. If any of you 'one nigerianist' sabotage any attempt at secession, you and your generations unborn will rot in hell! angry angry angry angry angry angry
