THAT IS WHY I LOVE MY RIVERS STATE. YOU CANNOT HEAR SERIKI THIS OR EZEIGBO THAT OR OBA OF YORUBA COMMUNITY. YOU CAME TO OTHER PEOPLE'S REGION TO LOOK FOR YOUR BELLY, NOT TO START CREATING TERRITORY IN A TERRITORY

This is not true. If you are from River state and not current with events in the state you will think this poster is saying the truth. The Rivers state government through the State Assembly ed a law handing over all missionary schools back to the curches and also asked the various state-owned institutions to handle their staff nursery/primary and secondary schools by themselves because the tertiary institutions are profit-making institutions that is capable to run their own staff school. There is an established law on that. Let us not be deceived. Governor Wike is the best governor of the PDP extraction, for now, commissioning and awarding people-oriented projects on weekly basis in Rivers state. This is the bad handi-work of Amaechi who has never brought a single project home since becoming a minister in Buhari's cabinet except for confusion and crisis. Wike is Working

Muhylonaire007:
Somebody predicted this headline when the news broke out that they killed 44 farmers.
He said tomorrow morning, headline will be like "Buhari condemns the killing" grin grin grin grin grin grin.

Nigeria is blessed with a mumu president that only condemns, not pro-activity whatsoever.... Spits. 2023 is far, many will still die before then. Just pray you and your household are spared.

RIP to the farmers

EXACTLY AS I PREDICTED AND WROTE FEW MINUTES BEFORE NOW grin grin

It was a day never to be forgotten as suspected of OSPAC ( a foreign vigilante group) allegedly brought in by the local government chairman of Etche, Rivers State, Hon. Obinna Anyanwu extra judiciously and sacrifice-like-manner murdered 13 innocent youths both girls and boys and removed their organs before dumping them into the otamiri river bridge in Etche LGA. The chairman has hitherto not made any useful comment on the incident. He us being accused by youths of the area of being the mastermind behind the killings....more details later

I am a SMAW welder from Rivers state of the Niger Delta region. If and when I am given a 10million naira grant or loan. I will set up a pipe/structural welding training centre ( I already have a perfect site for it) for the teeming youths that comes out of secondary on a yearly basis. I will use the money to acquire the necessary welding equipments and a power generating plant for the centre, employ three welding instructors ( subsequent instructors will come from the pool of the best youths i have already trained). Youths will be trained at a very affordable price , by so doing, i would have engaged a lot of the youths and also make a lot of money for myself and also pay back the grant with 24 months period

This group have hitherto been a group of respected indigenes of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area of Rivers state. But since the neighbourhood watch vigilante group proposed by the state governor was stopped when soldiers invaded the training camp, the OSPAC vigilante group has been activated and they are carrying out extra judicial killings.

“Not Too Young To Run”: INEC To Disqualify Candidates Below 30 In Bayelsa, Kogi Guber

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that it will disqualify ‘underage candidates’ in the November 16 2019 Bayelsa and Kogi States gubernatorial election, Igbere TV reports.

This was as the Commission expressed its resolve to publish the personal particulars of all candidates in the forthcoming polls in both Kogi and Bayelsa states.

According to INEC, in a statement obtained by Igbere TV from its Twitter handle on Thursday, some of the nominated candidates fall below the age limit allowed by the Electoral Act.

The statement signed by INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye said the particulars of all candidates would be published on the notice boards in its offices in both states on Friday.

“Under the “Not Too Young to Run Act”, candidates standing for governorship elections are expected to have attained the age of 30”, he said.

But the Commission said its preliminary review of candidates’ particulars showed a breach of the law, as most of the candidates fall below age 30.

“The publication of the personal particulars of nominees is for of the public to make any claims and objections regarding these candidates, as required by law.

“Similarly, the Commission has observed from a preliminary review of the list and personal particulars submitted by the political parties that some of the Governorship and Deputy-Governorship candidates are below the minimum age prescribed by the Constitution for these positions”, the statement added.

Although, INEC has no legal power to disqualify candidates legitimately forwarded to it by political parties, the electoral umpire said it would notify concerned parties and as well consider further action.

“The Commission will notify the concerned parties soon and subsequently consider further action”, the statement said.

The statement added; “in accordance with the Electoral Act and in line with the Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the Bayelsa State and Kogi State Governorship elections, the Commission will on Friday 13th September 2019 publish the personal particulars of nominated candidates for the elections.

“The personal particulars of the nominees will be published on the notice boards of our offices in Yenagoa and Lokoja.

“As required by law, the Commission monitored the primaries of the political parties and the list of aspirants who emerged has since been published on our website and other platforms.

“From our records, 64 political parties conducted primaries in Bayelsa State as against 59 in Kogi State. Out of these, 52 political parties for Bayelsa State and 49 for Kogi state respectively submitted the list of candidates and their personal particulars at the close of nomination at 6pm on Monday 9th September 2019.

“While some of the political parties that conducted primaries did not submit any list and personal particulars of candidates, a few failed to submit within the time limit prescribed by the Commission.

“Out of the 101 nominees for the two States, 91 are male, representing 90 per cent, while 10 are female, representing 10 per cent of all the nominees. Of the 52 nominees for Bayelsa State, 6 are female, while 46 are male.

“The corresponding figures for Kogi State are 4 female and 45 male nominees.

“As we continue to prepare for the Bayelsa and Kogi Governorship elections scheduled for Saturday 16th November 2019, the Commission once more reminds the political parties of the timelines in the Timetable and Schedule of Activities and requests strict compliance with them.

“We look forward to working with the parties and all stakeholders to make the forthcoming elections in the two States free, fair and credible”.
