aQUINandmore:

As someone from Edo, I find myself drawn to the Yoruba culture of Nigeria. It's not just a fascination; it's a deep appreciation and love that I hold for what I consider to be the most beautiful culture in Africa. It might seem unusual for me to have such an affinity for a culture outside of my own, but there's something truly special about the Yoruba heritage that captivates my heart.

The Yoruba culture is a tapestry of history, a masterpiece of traditions that have withstood the test of time. It's like a living museum of Africa's past, present, and future. I can't help but be entranced by its richness and depth.

What stands out most is the way Yoruba culture weaves together a complex fabric of language, spirituality, art, and community. The Yoruba language is like a dance, with its melodious flow and expressive words that seem to carry stories within each syllable. It's a language that can paint a picture with its very pronunciation.

Their spiritual beliefs are equally captivating. The Yoruba pantheon of gods, the Orisha, is a fascinating blend of mythology and reverence. The intricate rituals, divinations, and ceremonies that honor these deities are nothing short of mesmerizing. I ire the profound connection they maintain with their ancestors, believing that the spirits continue to guide and protect them.

Yoruba artistry is a realm of wonder. The Adire and Aso-oke textiles are not merely fabrics; they are works of art. Each pattern and motif tells a story, preserving their history and heritage in threads. The intricate beadwork, the stunning masks, and the sculptures are a testament to the incredible talent and creativity of the Yoruba people.

Music and dance are like the heartbeats of the Yoruba culture. The talking drums, the rhythms of Sango, and the energy of Ogun's dance, all come together to create a unique and exhilarating symphony. Their festivals, like the Eyo and Osun, are a spectacle of color and joy, a testament to the celebratory spirit that runs through their veins.

What's most striking is the strong sense of community and family in the Yoruba culture. I, from Edo, can't help but appreciate the way they embrace one another, the warmth in their interactions, and the strength of their bonds. They place great importance on names, known as "Oruko," and I ire how they cherish their ancestors and carry their legacies forward through generations.

It's worth noting that my love for Yoruba culture does not diminish my love for my own Edo heritage. Rather, it serves as a testament to the beauty of diversity in Nigeria. We are a tapestry of cultures, each offering something unique and beautiful. The Yoruba culture, in all its magnificence, adds vibrancy to the mosaic of our nation.

So, as someone from Edo with a deep iration for the Yoruba culture, I can't help but celebrate their traditions and their profound impact on Nigeria and Africa as a whole. The Yoruba culture, with its language, spirituality, art, and sense of community, is a treasure that enriches us all.
Eledumare shall bless you. The truth you know will open doors of hidden blessings for you.

It is constitutional matter.
Ghostwon82221:

1) in what sense is LG chairman more powerful than a first class monarch ?
2) lg chairman bows to first class monarch, I don't recall the opposite happening
3) ambassadors and foreign leaders do visit first class monarchs, but they don't visit LG chairman, why is that ? Are they unaware of your "ranking" ?
4) presidential candidates do visit first class monarchs, but they don't visit LG chairman, why is that ?
5) when people just repeat sentences without using their brains and asking themselves how the sentence even makes sense...

I totally agree with this opinion. The ajegunle man might not be the biological father. Even the mother may not know the real father among the numerous sperm donors.

[quote author=jesusjnr2020 post=109996380]Just imagine how shallow your reasoning is.

You are the one with shallow reasoning here. Your thought has no foundation from the context of john2 :1-11.
After water was turned to wine, the ruler of ceremony accused the organizer of serving stale wine before bringing out the fresh one. In verse 10, he said the stale wine is better served after the guests would have got drunk when drinking the good wine which was the one made from water by Jesus.
Mark the word DRUNK. Can you associate word drunk with non alcoholic wine.

Were you ever an introvert that turn to talkative? Did you suffer a set back that made you recoil. Are you trying to come out of situation to become talkative again. If the above fit into your situation, then the case is phycological or mental health challenge. Try harder, don't give up and you will overcome.

I truely feel your pain because I can relate well to your condition. In addition to what you stated, l was an accurate introvert. But nobody will ever guess that I was once like that. I simply train myself to be an extrovert. I drama group and gradually came out of my shell. I started talking in tutorial classes; make more male and female friends with no immoral thought. I talk freely in church.
I carry object like pen with me that I can be pressings at will when anxiety show itself.
You just have to train yourself to be confident...
Don't ever cult, it could end in sorrow and tears.

Wrong ! The bible is your command to you being a genuine Christian. Not one verse or chapter

A Christian is one who follow and practice the teaching of Jesus Christ. Matthew 5,6 & 7 is a complete undiluted teaching of Christ especially for a beginner who is getting confused by too much of doctrines.
And of course, you read bible everyday as Christian. What I recommended is that to become a genuine Christian, try to read the direct and unambiguous teaching of Christ (mat. 5,6&7) at least once in three days. That will not affect your daily Bible reading.
alaafin(m): 2:40pm On Jul 29, 2018
To become a genuine Christian, all you have to simply do is
to read the book of Matthew chapter 5, 6 & 7, at least once
every 3 days. Your view of who God and Jesus are will
change you and you will never submit to erroneous doctrine of men again.
There is nothing confusing about Christianity, but many have distorted the teaching of Christ, applying the Bible verses to suit there preconceived agenda
When you read the Bible with open mind, not subjecting yourself to ordinary task of confirming pre-supposed teachings, the truth in the words will be clear to you. Nobody with be able to twist the word just in order to enslave your conscious and subconscious mind.
Everything you need to fulfill a balance in your secular and church interactions are embedded in Matthew 5, 6 & 7.
You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.

Senior Secondary School Examination in 1981?

FAKE

Up to 1980, what we had was WASCE (June) which comes with Division classifications

From 1981 to 1988 or there about, there was GCE (June) without division

Senior Secondary exams came under Babangida regime around 1988.

How come Adeleke sat for Senior Secondary exams in 1981?

Even the dull reporter interpreted the number-listing of the Summary of Result as the number of distinctions, credits and es.

So you too noticed this fraud?

However, the question can be rephrased by asking anyone on Nairaland who has poor relatives in the rural areas who are benefiting from the scheme.

Outspoken media personality, Charlyboy, popularly known as AreaFada, has shared his opinion on the ongoing agitations for Biafra by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB.
The activist said it’s insane to think that Biafra is the solution to Nigeria’s problem, urging Ndigbos to ‘focus on their homeland and begin to demand ability and responsibility from many of their scammers, riffraff’s and fraudsters in the Ibo Kingdom called leaders.’
He also pleaded with President Muhammadu Buhari to ‘show mercy’ on the leader of the IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, who has been in detention since he was arrested by t he Department of State Services, DSS last year. .
In an open letter, he wrote: “I guess it’s about time I break my silence on this matter. From 1967 to 1970 my youth was scandalized with the horrors of the Nigerian civil war. I was never on the front-line as a fighting soldier, but I was in the boys’ brigade transmitting from the naval headquarters then in Oguta.
“With the daily air raids and the smell of death all around us, we were thankful every day we managed to stay alive. I a sight that has never left me till today at the tail end of the civil war. I was walking down the street on my way to the stream to fetch water, lo and behold was the sound of death (air raids).
“As we all ran in different direction looking for a safe place to take cover, I turned around to figure the direction my friends were running in, all of a sudden I saw the head of one off them yanked off the body, as a result of the fighter jets that killed innocent civilians for fun, what a horrible sight for a 17yr old. The words of plato “only the dead see the end of war” were forever engrained in my thoughts.
“I am a proud Igbo man, a home boy and a native fowl. No demo. My friends call me Igbotic not because am a nerd, or a jewman, but because I represent and symbolize all the characteristics of a typical igbo man pre the civil war.
“The Igbos may have short circuited their political growth, but it doesn’t take away the fact that we are great Nigerians. I have learnt to be more Igbotic than I ever expected. As an igbo man, I have learnt to be more profitable in the things that I do. I have perfected the art of being tenacious in any dream I chase; to be industrious, consistent and powerfully focused.
“All the lessons I learnt from my brothers in the tribe have made me dogged, hardworking and exhibiting the ability and capacity to survive in any kind of weather. I am an original Nwa Biafra. Needless to say that the igbo man is known to be one of the most entrepreneurial mind in the country.
“So it is particularly pathetic and unfortunate when some ignorant youths talk about this illusion called Biafra. History should teach us that Nationhood is Bloody, Hard and almost impossible when fantasy is the currency of demand.
“Even as Nigerians, see how our docility is killing our humanity. Didn’t the fall of Biafra after the genocide and the suffering of my people teach us anything? Haven’t we been marginalized enough? I Believe the Failure of the Igbo nation is the fault of the people elites and decision makers. Why have we not poured our energy, capacity and Ability into making the South East the Dubai of the Nation as well as the engine room of the Nigerian Economy? Who would be our leaders when the south east is infested with political power grabbers, 419ers, mindless criminals and looters of our commonwealth and resources? Need I mention names?
“See how we have migrated to different parts of Nigeria and the world which is good, made it home and developed our immediate environment. Why are we neglecting our home base, why are we running away from developing the South East?
“Our problem may not after all be the man in Aso Rock from Daura or the ordinary Hausa or Yoruba man on the Streets of Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Warri or Ogbomosho. The problem is the lack of men of integrity and a progressive mind set. We lack the right kind of leadership that will fight for the interest of the People. Let it be clear to all that the suffering of the People from the South East is also the suffering of the people from the other geopolitical zones in Nigeria.
“It is therefore retrospectively insane to begin to think that a people with a problem would suddenly be relieved when they are attached with a tag #BIAFRA; What Nonsense and Insanity! Now how do you begin to imagine that while the agitation for the state of Biafra is being demanded by the gullible Ibo youths, those who have been or are in position of authority are either not interested or are continuing their expansive investments in other part of Nigeria? Who dem dey deceive? They divide us daily with Religion, Tribalism, Ethnicity and Petty Bigotry even among the Tribes and Ethnic composition in the South East there is divisiveness. Why is Namdi Kanu yet to realize that the Dreams of Nationhood are lost in the Altar of Deception.
“Have we even considered that the population of my people from the south east outside the Region is twice the population of those in the south east? How can we who are supposed to be looking at making the South East the centralized Industrial Hub of the Nigeria Nation be the ones who are driving a wedge of unrealistic fantasy between Nigeria and our own people?
“When President Muhammadu Buhari sings the localisation and Nigerianazation song; We should be the ones to drive the narrative, because We Can.. When you have a willing Partner, who is interested in the Nigerianization of the Nigerian Economy; Why are some of my people busy creating or Poisoning the environment that are ordinarily designed to favour that which will promote the industrialization of the South East. Why have we become the enemy of our own home? Why hasn’t the “think home mentality” arrested every igbo billionaires and millionaires? Why are we eliminating the chances of Ibonising the Nigerian Economy by Nationalizing the Ibo Thought for a United and Prosperous Nigeria as well as for the benefits of all?
“I cannot STAND here and tell you there are no problems of trust in Nigeria. I will be the last to say that the Ibo nation has not undergone persecution. I will be foolish to ignore the hunger that was used as a tool to starve the Ibo Nation during the civil war. I am perfectly in the know about the problems of the Nigeria structure, Abeg make we know our History but use am to work today to perfect tomorrow.
“No one can argue the facts, and the facts are clear. The major problem of the Ibo Nation is also the major issue with the Nigeria State. ‘The Mindset’. The Mind must first be liberated, the thoughts must be harmonised and the people of the South East, my dear brothers and sisters must know that the development of the region is horrible because the leaders in the region have failed. Politically, Religiously, Societally and Communally. Over the past decades; where is the ability from the leadership with regards – FAAC; IGR; LOCAL BONDS; FOREIGN DEVELOPMENTAL LOANS; AIDS; GRANTS & BUDGETARY ; THE MANY FEDERAL PROJECTS IN THE REGION etc.
“The Failure of Leadership is evident in our agitation for Fairness, Justice and Equality for every Nigerian not just for every Ibo man. And so the Mind of the typical Ibo Leader Needs a Revolution to be realigned for the Interest of the People rather than the interest of their pockets. Biafra is not the Solution, I truly don’t think so.
“So, Igbo ndi Oma. Let’s focus on our home land and begin to demand ability and responsibility from many of our Scammers, Riffraff’s and Fraudsters in the Ibo Kingdom called leaders. Let’s us pause on the fantasy tagged Biafra for now. Let’s us dutifully work ourselves back into reckoning, by industrializing our home base.
I know we can, and we should. I also urge Mr President to show mercy on our brother Nnamdi Kanu; Him be Pikin.
“Biafra, my Igboticness is always on my mind because #OURMUMUDONDO.”

The story did not add up logically. Jacob and moses are centuries apart. And so is christianity and the jihadist. It is absurdity brought foward when people of southern nigeria will always want to be identify with fugitives from foreign land. History estabished the fact that these foreign fugitives met people on ground. War more than any other factors had been the reason why people were displaced in history. And because we have rely much on creation acount of middle east, reasoning have been discarded on begging questions. How can we explain why subsahara africa is the home of world dark people? We may never know how we get here, but our children should be proud of here like the black americans are proud to be americans.

malele: Why must southwest always gang up with the north nawah oo
But is that not what the east has been doing since the 60s? The west probably have step up knowing playing regional politic is not the best. For any region in the south to lead at the national level, the north must be in full . The abrachadabra population census figure is in northern favour. And instead of the south to work together for economic and political emancipation of its people, they are busy taking sides with awolowo and ojukwu who have played there parts and long gone. I have said it on another thread and i am saying it now; how respected nigeria will be in comittee of nations depends on east-west aligance.

I dont see anything that is suggestive of war in this. Rather it a responsible gesture from a govt to its citizen to make them better in those fields listed. This should be emulated by other state govt. And as i have said in another thread, i want to say again that easterners and westerners must work together if this country will have to take its right place in committe of nations. We need to work together to restle the country from our oppressors who are not necessarily northerners, but our elders who have sold our right for a bowl of poradge. Generations of awolowo and ojukwu children may never need to work in there life time because our wealth resides in there families. We keep on druming surport for those polithiefcian even sometimes on empty stomach while there unborn children are already billioniers. East and west must open there eyes before the southsouth wealth is completely drain into the desert.

Thanks op for this post. In as much as i will not want to bring triabalism into this topic there is no way it can be separated from the woo of this nation. Even our constitution is guilty of it. It recognises place of origin rather than place of residence. But as tribalistic as the yorubas are, they welcome strangers with open arms. That is why the west seems to be better than the rest in of infastructure and economy. The people of south east have contribute immensly to social, political and economic life of south west. But did easterners ever give room for strangers impact in the east? God did not just give us natural resouses, he also give us human resourses in aboudance. When easterners embrace the westerns putting behind them awolowo and ojukwu, that day nigeria will seat in its right place in committee of nations. As long as the east still feel contempt for others, they should not expect any tangible development. Dont think that a good government is coming to perform miracle because public money in nigeria is meant for salary and the rest for emblezzment. Before you pronounce me triablist; i am a yoruba man, my wife urobo and my children half yoruba half urobo.
