Nollywood actress, Ruby Ojiakor has shared a video of her daughter ‘’officially'' meeting her newlywed husband, actor, Moc Madu.

Recall that Ruby and her colleague, Madu got married traditionally in her village, Amaraku, Isi-Ala Mbano in Imo state on Saturday, February 1, 2025.

Ruby who has a child already from a previous relationship, said Madu has come into their lives to make she and her daughter happier and shine brighter.

Sharing a family video on her Instagram page, the actress wrote;

The Police Command in Imo has launched a manhunt for the abductors of Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) President, Mr Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, who was kidnapped in Owerri on Saturday.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Henry Okoye, confirmed this in a statement on Sunday. He also confirmed that Igboayaka was not arrested but remains missing.

“The Imo Police Command has initiated an investigation to determine the whereabouts of the OYC President, Comrade Igboayaka,” Okoye stated.

He urged anyone with useful information to promptly notify the police.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered that Igboayaka was abducted around 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

According to a source, gunmen dressed in black and numbering about seven stormed the scene in a Sienna and a Lexus SUV before taking Igboayaka away.

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has sanctioned Ethiopian Airlines, Air Peace, and three other airlines for various issues.

The other airlines are the Royal Air Maroc, Arik, and Aero Contractors.“Yesterday, the five airlines received their letters of sanctions.

The five airlines mentioned in that case have received their letters of sanctions officially,” NCAA spokesman Michael Achimugu said in a statement.

“Apart from this first set of sanctions, we are still gathering evidence and monitoring the officials to be able to come down harder on them in view to fine them a record N200m for their chronic infractions of the resolution.

The Nigeria Police Force has denied rumors of the reinstatement of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).




The force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement on Monday, dismissed the rumours as misinformation.

“The Nigeria Police Force wishes to debunk circulating rumors and misinformation speculating the return of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) with a reformed set of rules,” Adejobi stated.

Adejobi noted that the SARS, which was disbanded on October 11, 2020, remains dissolved and is not back in operation.

The policeman, however, urged citizens to treat information about SARS reformation and rules of engagement with caution.

He also encouraged Nigerians to the source of any information before accepting it as true.

“To ensure receiving accurate and reliable updates, citizens are advised to follow the official handles of the Nigeria Police Force on social media, viz @PoliceNG on X, @ngpolice on Facebook, and @nigeriapoliceforce on Instagram. Your safety and awareness are paramount; stay informed and vigilant.”

SARS was established in late 1992 to address crimes such as robbery, motor vehicle theft, kidnapping, cattle rustling, and firearm offenses.

The unit became controversial due to its connections to extrajudicial killings, forced disappearances, extortion, torture, framing, blackmail, kidnapping, illegal organ trade, armed robbery, home invasions, and the rape of both men and women, along with child arrests and violations of privacy.

Gunmen have k!lled Reverend Bala Galadima, a presiding clergy of the Evangelical Church Winning All in Lubo community, Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State. 

The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, February 9, 2025.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident said it was a robbery case.

“The issue is a robbery because they entered the house at night and maybe they attempted to rob him,” the PPRO said.

“Unfortunately, from the way he was shot in the back, maybe he was trying to escape, which is natural and normal, and he was shot.”

Abdullahi disclosed that Commissioner of Police, Bello Yahaya, visited the hospital where the body of the deceased was taken and deployed a team of special squad to maintain peace assuring that the culprits would be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.

A resident who identified himself as Ahmadu said that the gunmen entered the pastor’s residence from a civil defence personnel compound.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has reiterated the need for stronger collaboration among stakeholders to eradicate female genital mutilation (FGM) in Nigeria, describing it as a painful, degrading, and harmful violation of human rights.


Speaking in Abuja on Thursday during the commemoration of the International Day of Zero Tolerance for FGM, the Executive Secretary of the NHRC, Dr. Tony Ojukwu (SAN), reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to eliminating the practice.

He urged citizens, healthcare professionals, and policymakers to intensify efforts toward ending FGM.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the NHRC’s Director of Corporate Affairs and External Linkages, Fatimah Agwai Mohammed, highlighted this year’s theme: “Stepping Up the Pace: Strengthening Alliances and Building Movements to End FGM.”

Dr. Ojukwu recalled that in 2017, the NHRC, in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Civil Resource Development and Documentation Centre (CIRDDOC), developed a training manual to address human rights concerns linked to FGM.

Chief Imam of Yorubaland, Sheik Abdulraheem Aduanigba has said the practice of Sharia can never work in the South West zone of the country.

Sheik Aduanigba who said this in a viral video warned that any attempt to impose Sharia on the people in the six states of the South West could ignite war.

While adducing many reasons which make Sharia impracticable in the zone, he said that three religions are distinct which are Christianity, Islam and traditional religion and any attempt to foist Sharia on Christians whose population is 27million and traditional worshippers who are 10million will fan ember of disunity and chaos.

He stressed that since Muslims are not dominant in the zone, it will amount to an invitation to war if Shari’a is introduced.

His views contradict that of the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III who threw his weight behind Shari’a in the South West.

According to the Chief Imam, “Sharia cannot work in Yorubaland because our general language is Yoruba. When we talk of Yoruba, there are three distinct religions. Our original religion in Yorubaland is a traditional religion before the advent of Christianity. When Christianity came, it gave birth to Islam. In Yorubaland today, we have 27 million Christians, 23 million Muslims and 10 million traditional worshippers”.

“In Yorubaland today, there are 972 traditional rulers. So, if we say we should introduce Sharia, it will contradict the system we have been using in our own law”.

“We, in the South West, are aware that some of us celebrate masquerade festivals; some mark Christmas and Easter; some celebrate Ramadan and Ileya. So, if some of us in Yoruba decide to use Sharia, Sharia means women should cover their heads and we will start quarrelling with women who don’t cover their heads; those who drink alcoholic drinks, Sharia will frown at them. Yorubaland can’t allow such a system.”

“Sharia cannot work and the reason is that the money generated from Breweries in Lagos is the money given to the North who practice Sharia; the internally generated revenue from hotels where there are commercial sex workers is given to the North who cannot allow such things. That’s why I’m happy with the Tax Reform Bill that President Tinubu initiated that each state should be given the fair share of its IGR. So, that’s why Sharia cannot work in Yorubaland if we don’t want to cause war.”

“It could cause war when someone wears knicker(shorts) on the road and Muslims pick her up because she has flouted Sharia. It’s not that it is only we Muslims that dominate Yorubaland.

So, Sharia cannot work in the South West. Sharia is an agenda by the North”. “What they want to do is to first use Sharia to settle marital crisis, they are deceiving us. Thereafter, they will say whoever wants to share their inheritance in the Muslim way should do so. If they apply that, in Yorubaland, a father may have children who are both Christians, Muslims and traditional religion worshippers. “

“So, if a father who is a Muslim dies and some of his children have converted to Christians, in Yorubaland, all of them will have access to the inheritance. But, if they apply Sharia, the Sharia Court will say, since the child has left Islam, he is not entitled to the inheritance of his father who died as a Muslim. Therefore, Sharia cannot work in Yorubaland if we don’t want to ignite war”, he concluded.
