More clarity needed here. When did you come into the country and what visa were you on?

I came to the country 2021. I am on spousal visa 5 years route. Just asking if I still have to wait one year to get apply for British citizenship after ILR? My spouse in now Citizen, but wasn’t a citizen when I first applied to enter.

Good day everyone. So I came to UK when my spouse was still on ILR. Now my spouse has British Citizenship. Does the 1 year waiting time applied to me or not ?

One of my concerns. band 5 just gave me a call after interview that I got the job. By the time they are done with their checks, my induction and resumption date for band4 would have ed. This band 4 took 4 weeks before checks were completed. DBS, OT and references check.

Hello Gurus in the house. Thank you all for your wonderful contributions to this group and your contributions have been so helpful. But I need clarification for a dilemma I am in.
So I got in to UK November and got a band 4 position in NHS here in London that include inner London high wages. Their checks were concluded just last week, received unconditional offer and I have giving my word through email to the HR about my starting date. She replied that I have been schedule for an induction and appointment contract will be sent by next week. However, yesterday I got a better offer in Band 5 in an interview I did early this month with higher pay and nearer to my house....
But I already gave my words to the HR of the formal offer work, with all arrangement for inductions now in place.

What can I do ?

Guys I need to change my phone because the screen is broken. Where can i get a used cheap phones for now? someone suggested ebay or Facebook market. I am in Hayes area

While I am not certain nor sure about the route for psychologists, I know it will not be difficult for you getting a job as MHSW.

Your experience in MH will be useful but most organisations require at least 6 months of UK experience, so you might have to get in to other jobs then move into MH once you able to.

Also, you will need some trainings such as PMVA and MAPA, this is based on Trusts and some agencies give you for free.

It would be helpful if you give a background on your previous experience in Nigeria.

The quick jobs you can do her the regular manual jobs like warehouse operative, care jobs, security etc.

It’s Xmas season and there are currently a lot of these jobs available. So, it shouldn’t be difficult getting one.

You can also check around for agency that speed up getting these jobs.

Thank you for your reply. I hold a BSc psychology and MSc Clinical psychology from University of Ibadan, with over 2.5 years of combined clinical experience in mental health settings. I resigned as the lead clinical psychologist in one of the biggest public/private partnership specialist hospital in Abuja.
I am hoping to get a mental health worker job for a start and then progress to assistant psychologist and finally to trainee clinical psychologist ( As You have to live in the UK for 3 years before you can qualified for trainee role because it is NHS funded).

Vatican boy. I flew British Airways on Thursday, and I have a British Airways voucher worth $669
my brother bought BA one way ticket to surprise me , and I bought another not knowing that he already bought for me. Now the don't do refund so I can easily transfer the ticket to another person for a discounted amount or use it some other time .

Please those that are yet to travel you can ask me questions on covid, what you need to buy and customs, immigration etc .

Please do yourself the favour, buy thick Jacks and cardigan, wool hat, thick scarf, plenty underwear, (boxers & singles), thick Joggers for staying indoors thick stockings too. This is my first winter here , so the thing they shock me sef. Don't bother to bring all your Nija cloths , just pick what you will wear during summer. Your fine cloths can't stand this present weather.

1. You will need to show that white paper that came in through mail( or came with your port as the case may be ) at the immigration. So keep it close.

2. Book and pay for your day 2 covid test if you are fully vaccinated. Print out the payment details and keep it with your port.

3. Your vacation certificate , print and hold it and carry that vaccination card they gave you at the hospital you got vaccinated.

4. Fill your enger location form and print and hold it with your port. ( search for it on the UK.gov site . )

5 when you arrive go through declarations in customs . If you have food stuff, go to the the part that says (if you have Goods to declare this way ) this will save you time . Because people like you with food stuff will say they don't hav things to declare and so search is been carried out most times, but on this other route only you or few persons are there and they most likely won't check , they will just ask verbally . I hope this help someone.

People that are full vaccinated can go out after their day 2 covid test. He said is is fully vaccinated.

When will your visa start reading, I learnt it is 3months. so your own is from which month to which month is your deadline to enter UK.

I am waiting too, but I am still able to track my application. to your visa application via UK website. Then click on biometric and then click continue, it will take you to your TLS portal. You will see track Application.
But the waiting though...... omooooooo
