Two Nigerian college students Mustafa Azmir and Jude Nnamdi Achonye were on Wednesday December 20, handed the death sentence by a High Court in Shah Alam for trafficking 3.5 kilogrammes of methamphetamine.
Shah Alam High Court judge Datuk Abdul Halim Aman made the ruling after finding that the prosecution had proven a prima facie case against the accused, Azmir, 28, and Achonye, 30.
According to the criminal charge brought against them, Azmir and Achonye were accused of trafficking the drugs at an apartment in Petaling Jaya at 3.30pm on Sept 2, 2014 which is an offense under Section 39B (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
The facts of the case stated that the accused, who studied at a private college in Kuala Lumpur, were arrested by police when they accepted several boxes containing the drug which was delivered by a courier company at the apartment.
Abdul Halim, in his ruling, said the court had studied testimonies from 13 prosecution witnesses and two defence witnesses, alongside 73 exhibits tendered during the trial.
"The defence had failed to raise reasonable doubt at the end of this case and presented no testimony that thoroughly refutes the prosecution," he said.
"Besides that, there were also discrepancies in testimonies of the accused and their defence only amounted to denial without concrete evidence," he said.
Deputy public prosecutor Mohd Rehan Mohd Aris appeared for the prosecution, while the accused were represented by lawyer Leonard Anselm Gomes.

Most times, our android phones and tablets tend to develop lagging issues which are caused as a result of bugs that may have been ed through the sites we visit and so on.
Now, you would want to format your phone using the easy method by going to settings, then proceeding to factory settings to restore your phone back to its factory settings. Doing that would lead to loss of all data including phone numbers, messages, music, pictures, videos and other important data stored on the internal storage of the device.
Let's get right to it...
* Backup of files in the internal storage: You would need an SD card that has a lot of memory space, it can be that of 8gb,16gb or 32gb depending on the size of the internal storage. It should contain a lot of free space, preferably it can be empty. It should then be inserted into the device, then you proceed to storage, then enter the internal storage where most data are contained, you are now to mark all the folders and move them to the SD card, in doing this, you would be able to save all data that contains your music, pictures, whatsapp messages, etc.
* Phone s & messages: This tend to be the major reason why people do not want to format their phones. Well, your worry is over... To preserve your info, you'll need to an app from playstore called SMS backup and restore, which you'll install on your device that would enable you backup your your phone logs and messages in both your mail and file storage. This would enable you restore them back to the device after the format occurs. You can also preferably move all your s to the SIM cards present in the device. lalasticlala, pictures are attached below...

please, naira landers I need your help.I transfered 100,000 twice (200000naira)from my gtbank into my ecobank but only 100,000 was credited into my ecobank instead of 200,000naira.pls what should I do to get my money back?
Eyaaaa, this thing no hard nah. just send them a mail with your numbers on both banks with the transaction date. They will rectify it. Their email address is [email protected] or chat on 08087603717. also send to the sending bank too. Both of them will confirm where your money is.
Did you sent them an email on [email protected]? whenever i sent them an email or chat them on WhatsApp on 0808 760 3717, i always get positive response.
The intent of my post is not to insult or embarrass any person or group of persons, but to enlighten you on a situation I feel is worth sharing.
FEB 1st 2017 I was credited by a Bank's ATM, whilst I never was paid. I complained on that same day to the customer care representatives of my bank (ECO - BANK) on-line, they promised to return the funds within 5 - 7 working days.
Today happens to be the 8th working day, 12 days away from the reported date and all I can get from Eco bank is to give them more 48 hours to resolve the issue. I tried calling the customer care number +234700 500 0000, but to my surprise after lodging my complaint they totally have barred all my calls.
The money might be little and not of much value to a lot of people, but please, can someone point me to an authority that looks into such?
I can only but imagine how many people / families suffer such maltreatment, and wish to ask that we figure out a way to curb such rot.

Please what will be the interest rate of 500k for three months? I really want to go into this TBS ,as shares is not paying me anymore. And which of these banks will give me a better rate, GTB, ECOBANK, UNION BANK, Fidelity BANK? I will appreciate ur response.
chemystery:
ok...thanks a lot for the info. But it seems things change like you can see others above me complaining as well cos i know vividly well it wasnt like that when CBN gave the regulation.
IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THAT. JUST THAT IF YOU ARE OPPORTUNED TO USE ONLY YOUR BANK'S ATM. YOU MIGHT NOT REALISE THAT.
chemystery:
Oh! is it 3 for a month? I use to think N65 should be deducted after every 3 withdrawal. Like for instance: If i withdraw from other bank 12times, i'd be charged 4 * 65 = 260. But from your own explanation it means i will be charged N650 provided i make the 12 withdrawals within a particular month. Am i correct?
Yes. You are correct. After the first 3 withdrawals, you will be charged N65 for subsequent withdrawals from other banks ATM. it’s applicable to all banks.
