Your hand luggage? Not possible.

The check-in luggage? Lol. They checked it. You just did not know. All the terminals it went through especially in the US it was checked. If you used a lock you would have known because they would have broken the lock and put a slip there telling you they did.
That’s it.....my bag was locked and the lock was intact

I put it in my check-in luggage but in a Ziploc bag. Thing is, their scanners can tell if a drug is there but they won't act until they sense it is too much. They flung my toothpaste from my hand luggage because it was too big. Not connected to my first response but just giving it as FYI to anybody who is about to make the same mistake I made.
I didn’t go tru this.....my bags weren’t checked in JFK at all

My Transcript

Visa approved at Lagos Embassy, 30th July 2019

School: Clarkson University

Funding: 66,000$ (Tuition and stipends)

Course : Msc Chemical Engineering

This was my 9th attempt, 7 in Lagos, 2 in Abuja

Here is my today's visa transcript:

V.O: (Looked at my i20) I see you have a teaching assistantship, what will you be teaching?

Me: I will be assisting prof. ... in grading students papers, invigilating test and exams, other teaching duties will be assigned upon resumption

V.O: what was your undergraduate Major?

Me: chemical engineering

V:O Where do you work and what's your duties?

I currently work as a process engineer at D***y Industries Limited and stated my duties

V.O: (Started typing for a long time and checking his system, he was shaking his head too and my mind was beating fast.) He asked, have you travelled outside the country before?

Me: Yes, I have been to Ghana

V.O: is it by flight or road and how many times

Me: I travelled by road and that was sept last year and came back same month

V.O: (Went to meet another V.O, he stayed there for like 4mins, I don't know what they were discussing). After he came back, he asked... What's your plans after graduation?

Me: Upon completion of my masters degree, I will be resuming a new position at my current place of work as a senior process engineer and I am going to be on a paid study leave (I brought out the letter, he saw it and said he doesn't need it, I pushed my letter back to my file).

V.O: (Typing for a very long time and checking stuffs on his system) you have been to Abuja embassy last time, what transpired there?

Me: During my last interview, the V.O wasn't convinced that I am a credible student and hence I was refused. I have come to demonstrate my credibility as a student, I wrote GRE and scored 324, had a good grade (1st class) and believe i definitely do very well during my masters studies at Clarkson University. (He nodded)

V.O: (Started typing again and checking stuffs on his system), You applied for safety science at Embryl Riddle Aeronautical University in 2017, why the switch to chemical engineering (For my mind, e don come again o)

Me: That's was when I finished my National Youth Service and was working with a firm so i needed to increase my safety knowledge but since I changed place of work and now dealing with chemicals, I needed to develop knowledge in the area of chemical catalysis and plasma processing which will be needed when I resume a new position at my place of work. (He nodded)

V.O: Do you have anybody in USA?

Me: No, I don't have anybody

V.O: (Typed for ages, for like 2mins and was checking his system, my mind was beating fast. He took my port and those blue papers, I was like it's finished, another refusal. Immediately he brought out the white paper and circled a location, then said the golden words) YOUR VISA HAS BEEN APPROVED, then ed my i20 and sevis receipt

Me: collected my i20 and shouted Thank you sir!!! I ran out of the embassy and people were shouting what is it, I was running till i reached where I entered cab to my house cos it was like a dream or like i was watching a movie.

That's it... I saw God's favour today
Wow this is beautiful...... I even thought you were in US already..... I'm so happy for you man.... congrats

Hello house , I’ll soon be traveling to the US as an f1 student , I have questions.
1. As an f1 student do I need to take my tuition fee with me ?
2. My apartment is not ready yet so I’ll be staying in an hotel before I get an apartment, will this be a problem at the POE?
3. Someone said I need to have document of how I will be paying tuition, does that mean I’ll have to take my sponsors bank statement with me ?
4.has anyone used the GTB MasterCard abroad before , does it work?

Once submitted, you can't change it. Except you will go to retrieve application, you will answer some security questions, and automatically your info will be added except your travel experience to US. Then you can edit this. that you will have a different ds160 bar code. Do not cancel the one you used to book appointment except you want to reschedule and pay another visa fee. You can submit the new ds160 form, and on the day of your interview, you go with the two different ds160 confirmation pages. The one for your visa appointment and the updated one. Do not worry, because all these will appear on the VO screen with your name. Albeit, you should only do this, when you have more than three days left!
He can fill in another DS-160 form and update the one on his visa appointment page....don't give out wrong information please

Yes, some people get fake ission here in the east
Please remove fake ission from your transcript.... I have never heard it before and what if the VO doesn't understand what it means too and unnecessary questions that you didn't prepare for start arising?

Good morning NL family, please help me scrutinize my proposed transcript
@ Lagosismyhome, fairheart, sharwama, walspring....please seriously look into my matter.
School: St. Cloud State University
Course: Computer engineering
Level: undergraduate
Age: (1996)

Vo: Good morning, port and I20
Me: (ed them)
Vo: Have you been here before?
Me: Yes, I have
Vo: So why was your visa not approved?
Me: I was denied because I failed to convince the visa officer that I was a genuine student and not an intending immigrant
Vo: So what's new from the last time you applied?
Me: Well, I have known so much more about my program, my confidence has improved, and I have even a better financial
Vo: Are you trying to tell me you never knew about your course before?
Me: No, not at all. I am actually saying that I have known more about my program ... We learn new things everyday
Vo: OK.... Where are you going?
Me: Am going to St. Cloud State University for my undergraduate degree in computer engineering
Vo: Why this school?
Me: Apart from the fact that I got a generous in-state tuition waiver which am very grateful for, I also chose this wonderful school because it has a very committed focus on the academic excellence of her international students and a very diverse cultural community that helps international students feel settled. Like this is not enough, this wonderful school offers a lot at a very moderate rate.....
Vo: When did you graduate
Me: 2014
Vo: What have you been doing since then? It's been about 5 years now!
Me: Yes, it's been quite a while but after my graduation in July 2014, I started computer classes at Royals Computers Cybercafe where I was offered a management job after concluding my program, I chose to handle the job to get management tactics which would enable me run my own ICT firm in the long run. In 2016, I got itted to Abia State University, but later realized it was fake ission so I dropped. Currently, am a freelancer and a blogger.
Vo: Why not just get this degree in Nigeria or some other country?
Me: When it comes to STEM courses, the U.S schools offers the best programs in this area. They have a well-structured educational system that maintains a balance in practical skills and theoretical knowledge. I need the best possible education for my career plans.
Vo: what will a degree in computer engineering do for you?
Me: A degree in this course will fortify me with the knowledge and skills required to directly secure a very good job in one of the top ranked innovative technical firms in Nigeria upon graduation. As Nigeria is at the dawn of what I'd call a "technological revolution ",where engineers with a degree in my field are highly sought for by top companies like: Andela, Flutterwave, Jumia, Globacom, MasterCard, etc,a degree in this course will be a one-way ticket to actualize one of my career plans in Nigeria. A degree in this course will also help me partake in this technological revolution coming from my very country, a revolution that will sky-rocket the economy of Nigeria, and at the same time have them ranked amongst the best technically advanced countries in the world.
Vo: Tell me about the course and the program?
Me: Computer engineering is a branch of engineering that integrated several fields of computer science and electronics engineering required to develop various computer software and hardware. This branch of engineering does not only focus on how computer systems work themselves but on how they integrate to larger pictures
About the course, am expected to take prerequisite courses before getting itted to the major, graduate with a minimum GPA of 2.5,and 106 credits
Vo: Can you list some of the courses you'd be taking in your program?
Me: I'd have to take courses in General engineering,Physics,Maths and statistics, Calculus, Embedded systems, Engineering orientation
Vo: Do you know some of the professors you'd be working with?
Me: Yes, I already know and communicate with Prof. Ling Hou our head of department and Prof. Michael P. Glazos, the assistant professor
Vo: What will you do upon graduation?
Me: I'll come back to Nigeria after my undergraduate degree to have my compulsory nysc, then afterwards, hopefully secure a job in one of the top ranked ICT firms in Nigeria or go for a lecturing job in one of the Nigerian universities. In the long run.... I intend to own my own ICT firm.
Vo: Did you sit for any standardized test?
Me: Yes, I took SAT and had a score of 1030
Vo: That doesn't look like a very good score, how did you manage to get this scholarship?
Me: Yes, it's not that high but it still kept me in a position to qualify for the in-state tuition scholarship, plus I have a very good high school GPA of 3.46/4.
Vo: Do you think you qualify for this visa?
Me: Well, I believe I do: I have an ission from a good college, I have academic record as well as criminal record, I have a genuine intent for traveling to the u.s,plus I have sufficient sponsorship,so in all ramification, I think I qualify for it
Vo: Who's your sponsor and what does he do?
Me: My maternal uncle. He's a lawyer by profession but has a lot of businesses he manages. He has a school here in Abuja, he is also into estate business, and has a couple of lodges here in Abuja too
Vo: Why would your uncle sponsor you and not your parents?
Me: since high school he has been the one sponsoring my education without stress, and is still willing to continue. It has never been an issue for him, he feels entitled to the responsibility.
Vo: Does he not have his own kids to take care of?
Me: His kids are all graduates and now independent.

You as a visa officer, decide my fate.
@ 1st bolded.....what does fake ission even mean?
@2nd.....you have a criminal record?
