Firstly please don't get me wrong, I think Nigerian polity is a charade however, all those suggesting that the minority party cannot produce the leader should ask themselves 'what about Tambuuwal(forgive my spelling if I am wrong)' ?. In as much as political parties should strive for sustainability, it should not be at the detriment of the electorate. They are servants to the people and the people come first. Shalom.

irunoobo: interesting comment from you Madame, considering that they made a wrong choice in looking for a means to self sufficiency. However, you my dear are the personification of everything wrong and deceitful in our beloved country, tribally bigoted, and having to use other peoples ingenuity to make yourself look and feel consequential.(Remove that colored thing and wear your natural hair, make we see if your ego go still dey find who you go yab). Shalom Madame. 5 Likes |

dickrider:I see that you and those who liked your comment are from the "Yoruba kingdom of Southwest Nigeria". Grow up and ask yourself and your elders what caused the civil war, I am sure the straight forward ones(if your kingdom has any anymore) will tell you that the Igbo's were too successful and the north and south westerns were myopic. Have a good life dear nairalander and realize that we are NIGERIANS'. |

Dear Nigerians, the elections are here again, a supposed time for our nation to elect individuals that will ensure growth and security. Having read various campaign speeches from some political parties I am amazed at why no individual, group or organization is asking for how various promises will be achieved, rather some people look back at what their candidate has achieved (which is a fair analysis as it shows what the person is capable of) rather than how their plans will be made possible in the present economic situation. The two MAJOR political parties involved in this presidential election are the PDP and APC, their candidates the DR Jonathan and Major General Buhari, the formers government saw 20 billion dollars vanish from the system(alleged), the latter ruled during the military regime where he was the law and the law was him. It is obvious that both men are called good and bad dependent on the point of view of the caller however, who they are or what they are called is immaterial to the prosperity of our great nation.(my point of view, whoever can get the job done, give him or her the job). It is already January a few weeks to the election day, if our media houses and journalists were pro active, various interviews should have been conducted where each candidate states their plans (how it will affect the nation at least 15 years after their time) or a ed debate for various and all the aspiring candidates. My sisters and brothers it is with pain in my heart that I write this, unless tribalism is removed from the minds of men, we will be lagging behind in comparison to the rest of the world.
