[s]Buhari is sowing impunity in the polity. If he continues this way, The Senate should impeach him as soon as possible, Besides, I don't even know his use in that presidency, all he does if fight perceived and imaginary enemies - A very heartless and vindictive old man.
I don't understand a situation where he's always interfering in the matters of the legislature, is the legislative arm not suppose to be an independent entity?, I stand with Senate on this.
Instead of working on delivering his campaign promises, He's scheming on how to remove the Senate principal officers because they outsmarted his dull brain to attain those positions.[/s]

Many industrial firms, especially those operating in the food, beverages and conglomerates sub-sector had about a decade ago, relocated to Ghana after being offered incentives like 15-year tax holiday, free land and other policy initiatives which would drive their businesses.
Throw in stable power supply . . . and that's how you lure in investors en masse.

I hate how it sounds, but come to think of it.. This bill when ed would benefit IMO people a lot..
This is a wake up call for all Igbos to go into farming of livestock etc..
Don't look at it from the point of, 'they are coming to Islamize us'..
We it from the point of what are we really going to achieve with it when it's ed into law..
This means, you can gently walk into the market, buy cow and feed them off these fields without disturbance from anyone and make your cool cash when time is right..
Every right thinking Igbo should surport this bill and try make judicious use of it when/if it comes to existence...
Forget all these PDP nonsense, No one can Islamize Igbos again, at least not in this life time..
Nice one. If the state can afford it, it will at least bring peace, save crops from damage, and FH wahala, while the people of the state can also take advantage of it.
I hope the state charges a fee for it though -- not everything is about hardheadedness, don't be surprised if other states follow Imo's model if it works.

These are the kind of investors we actually need.
Portfolio investors are way overrated.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Privatization, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, has said Nigeria has no business g rail deals with China, when the tracks can be produced in the Ajaokuta Iron and Steel Company.
Murray-Bruce, who stated this on Tuesday in Ajaokuta, Kogi State, when he led the Senate and House of Representatives t Committee on Privatization to Ajaokuta Iron and Steel Company, said such deals with China makes no sense and shows lack of coordination.
He said the present state of the steel company which was almost 90 percent complete but abandoned by previous governments does not speak well of the country.
He said: “For 22 years they should have had a plan through the minister of national planning. The minister of national planning should be the one integrating the policies of any government in power at the particular time.
“When you go through the detailed presentation and listen to arguments it is difficult to draw conclusions. When you don’t listen to the reasons why you are here in the first place?
“That is why it was important for all of us to listen to the arguments and understand the reason why. But let me say this, I am really touched by the presentation and the kind of leadership you have here. What is really clear to me is that the management of Ajaokuta Steel plant has on board very patriotic Nigerians because you must never sell your soul for money.
“First of all, you are a Nigerian, secondly you want to develop this beautiful country and create job opportunities for your people, and more importantly you want to create an environment where those of us in office will look back and say while I was there I did something for my people, but obviously this is not the case.”
He said the committee will meet with the Minister of Solid Minerals and Steel, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, and hold a public hearing on the Ajaokuta Iron Steel Company on Thursday.

If they want to employ 100% Koreans, so be it! At least Nigeria would no longer import fuel, we would save billions of dollars in forex, we would kiss fuel scarcity goodbye, fuel prices would drastically drop and the trickle down effects would definitely be possitive.
This is a welcome idea by all standards. Let them build first, then we can later worry about who they employ.

At this period of scarce resources and dwindling income, that is the least of our problems. We have similar schools right here in Oron and in Kaduna. Come to Oron and see that the school still has the capacity to take in more students. How well have we maximised what we have currently before going for another during this scarcity.
I put it to u that that school was meant to be another white elephant project to be used to siphon money for tompolo and his gang however Jonah-daft loss limited Nigeria loss. He has already pocketed over 12 billion and more was to come.
You are 100% correct!
However, I have come to realize that the people from some part of Bayelsa and Delta are just like the almajiris, they reason alike. You can't use conventional sense of reason with them . . . if you get what I mean. For peace and progress, just let them wear their plastic crown.

So, Tompolo duped his people, but Amaechi and Buhari are the scapegoats for trying to right the wrong -- wonderful!
ND, I dey hail o!
It is either Kachikwu just wants peace to discharge his duties effectively, or has something to hide, or he has been severely threatened lately.
My Verdict: Make provisions for the project either this year or next, while hunting down the fraudsters -- you can do both, even if it involves buying another land for the project, for peace and progress sakes.

I understand this arrangement. Land and Resources in Nigeria are owned by the government. Locating oil blocs to 'people' in Niger Delta instead of the community is flawed. This arrangement will continue to enrich few pockets and impoverish the people more. How does this arrangement help the Niger Delta communities?
Locating the blocs to the community will make more sense than individuals. Oil blocs are collective treasures, as long as we remain one Nigeria - it should be shared judiciously.
Government should resist intimidation whatsoever and act right.

As long as they can afford it.
Oil underneath your feet, does not directly translate to money in your unless you invest in the process -- that requires a lot of money . . . and you know those who have that kind of money and what they will still do to the poor people of those communities . . . it never ends . . .
