You are cowards, Oshiomhole replies The Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State has called for the overthrow of the current leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC). The PDP described NLC and TUC leadership as ‘’corrupt, insensitive, rebellious, partisan and must be overthrown’’. State Publicity Secretary Matthew Urhoghide was reacting to the rally organised by NLC and TUC in solidarity with Governor Adams Oshiomhole. He said the current leadership of NLC and TUC ‘’must be replaced by one that has enough dignity and honesty.’’ Urhoghide said the NLC and TUC lacked the legal rights to impose a governorship candidate on Edo State workers. He added that it was surprising that the state governor refused to obey an order of the National Industrial Court which issued an exparte order to stop the mass rally. He said, “This state came into a halt. Workers did not go to work. It is rude and callous. It is wrong.” But Governor Oshiomhole said the PDP acted cowardly by using the C as front in getting what he called frivolous injunctions. Oshiomhole, who spoke to reporters yesterday, said the law regarding personal income tax has been ed. According to him, “Some of these guys are cowards. Rather than come out and stand on their feet, they seek politicians of no consequence to fight cases for them while they pretend not to be interested. ‘’ It shows that they were cowards. They know that what they were doing was wrong.” http://247nigerianewsupdate.com/pdp-calls-for-overthrow-of-nlc-tuc-leadership/ |

There is nothing wrong with NLC and TUC campaigning for Oshiomole, they have every right to do so. People shouldn't be unnecessarily sensitive. |

^ is that you beaf? Anywhere oshiomole is GEJ's boy boy. In other news I NLC/TUC to be disbanded completely. They are no longer useful to the masses/workers. It has become an organisation used to fight personal interest through the masses. In this case, what of workers that doesnt like oshiomole. NLC/TUC should never be political. |
Beaf: 12:47pm On Mar 25, 2012 |
^ Is there any law that says they shouldn't be political? Dude, politics is the right of every man an institution, except those that must be neutral (judiciary, police, army, civil service etc). NLC and TUC are ok to take any action within the law that they feel would benefit workers. |

Nlc and Tuc are not suppose to be partisan wen ot come to political matters but de Nigerian virus of if U don't de party in power either in Ur state or de country has continue to affect everybody and even de Unions and de activist now belong to de political entity;meaning nobody can condemn any political decision or action in nigeria and go free...

^ It has nothing to do with Nigeria, my guy. In almost all countries, labour movements are involved in politics; political parties with names such as, Labour Party, Workers Party etc generally began as workers movements. Even USSR's Communist Party was supposedly all about workers, just as the UK's Labour has worker roots. |

oshiomole should quickly bury that ugly statue he calls face in shame. because the first quarter of SURE funds is about to be released. shut up and enjoy your money nitwit, d least interferance you need now is NLC abi? we heard you |
MrGlobe(m): 3:16pm On Mar 25, 2012 |
Beaf: ^yes, politics is the right of every man but not an institution that represents workers who may be pdp , acn, apga or other parties. The NLC does not have the right to tell their who to vote, it is undemocratic. They are to protect the interest of the workers from whoever that has been independently voted into power. What if oshiomole fights against workers (like he did with the subsidy issue) what moral justification will the NLC use to check him when they ed him. Its just the partisan politics killing Nigeria. Tommorrow the police will also a candidate. |
MrGlobe(m): 3:28pm On Mar 25, 2012 |
Beaf: ^Adams Oshiomole is not a candidate for labour party. He is a candidate for ACN (an ethnic party). Having said that, across the world the political party system is often divided into liberal and conservative. The Labour party you stated happens to be known as a conservative party not the labour's party. The name is not very much significant. What the party stands for is. There are many workers in the UK who are against labour policies. Also our system of govt is modelled after the US, so give me an example from there 1 Like |

Nlc n tuc both hv da right 2 openly show there for da guv'nor, after all he was one of them but, making workers stay out of work for dat reason is kind of abusing da power of their ofis....

I thought oshiomole openly ed PDP'S anti people policy of subsidy removal of PDP government? Why PDP would not want to pay the gov back by at least allow him a easy ride to second term in office baffles me.

Beaf: There is nothing wrong with NLC and TUC campaigning for Oshiomole, they have every right to do so. there is every thing wrong with NLC & TUC campaigning for a political party. These are supposed to be independent, non partisan bodies, established to check the excesses of government. If u campaign for political parties, then you have been compromised, they are no longer credible and independent. Quite unfortunate! |
