cheesy

Now, the Attorney General can cover his face in shame.

Nigeria official's $35m refrozen

Mr Ibori's assets are said to include a jet and London property
The London High Court has ordered the refreezing of former Nigerian governor James Ibori's $35m (£17m) assets that police think are the proceeds of crime.
The assets, believed to include a Bombardier private jet, were the subject of a restraint order in August.

It was lifted last week thanks in part to a letter from Nigeria's attorney general saying Mr Ibori had not been "charged, tried or convicted".

But now Mr Ibori cannot use his assets while the police make their case.

He is one of several former Nigerian state governors who remain wanted for questioning in London on money-laundering charges.

The AGF is not in tune with latest advances in technology and how Nigerians have embrased ICT as the world turns a global village.

He thinks we are still in the age when a public servant does anything they like merely because he has the of the President. Spins anything they like in the Nigerian media hoping nobody will know the truth.

Virtually every Nigerian who wants to has a copy of his letter to Ibori's counsel in their computer, and posterity will judge him on the path he is towing.

All you need do is to check the antecedents of Ibori. He has been winning all the civil cases brought against him - even when he was Governor. The odds are much against his detractors. These people should find something worthwhile to do. And I can assure you all that he's going to win this one again.

Between, I think people should come up with facts and not fallacies. The first story I read on this matter said the guy stole £35 million. Now it's £70 million. Smacks of incompetence on the part of some people. Nonsense. Beside, the Crown Court in London said Aondoakaa did not in any way influence the ruling of the court.

I'm beginning to think that IBB is innocent of the charges brought against him. I will take some time out to go and see that Hiltop mansion in Minna so that I'll not be fooled by rumour peddlers.

You have spoken like a true patriot. First you claim the man was loved by all of his people in
Delta state, now you are certain he will emerge victorious. Hey,I didn't know charges were
brought against IBB (I must have been napping for a long time. . .). I do know one thing for
certain: a lot of people in Nigeria have benefited directly from corruption that their interest in
seeing the anti-corruption crusade dead is understandable. You have the lawyers (virtually
a good number of the so-called SANs) and you have the courier buys who shuttle funds back
and forth all over the world. In that sense, the loyalty of these crop of people to the looters
is understandable, although misplaced.
