We promote nonsense in this country, among every important bill that could change lives ,like Bill on death sentence to public servants that steal public funds especially politicians and others that can grow our economy, na seats for women be their focus...women will claim what a man can do a woman will do better yet their lives depends on men ....the difference between China that gives Nigeria loans and Nigeria, is that in China they kill thieves that steal public funds but in Nigeria we reward criminals willfully with more power to continue to steal...is a disgrace that Nigeria with population of 200million people will be borrowing from China that have more than a billion people....imagine if China politicians are allowed to steal public funds with their population, their economy would have been completely ruined more than any other country.....

Which seats are you guys talking about? The constitution doesn't envisage a situation where one gender is given a preferential treatment against another in position of authority. If you are fine go out like others and contest and not go through the backdoor to have a preferential treatment which is unconditional.

I guess women should also advocate to have an extra position of authority as bricklayers, plumbers, electricians, engineers etc. It shouldn't be the positions that has to do with power it should all round. We can't all be educated under one platform and then turn around to give preferences to one gender above another. Equality only when it's sweet is no equality at all, go out and contest like others.

I would suggest that they encourage more women to contest for elective positions before they can now talk of special seats

I don't the idea of special seats for women. Any woman that wants to occupy any leadership position should slug it out with her male counterparts in electoral contests.

Everything shouldn't be rigged in favor of women!

cool
What kind of "special seats" is that? This gender just want everything given to them on a platter without any effort.
Where's equality and justice in that?
Akpabio should be careful not to be a willing tool in the hands of this blackmailers and manipulative gender

I don't understand.

No make it make sense.

Special seat for what

This gender wants to institutionalize advantage. They do not want to do the work at all.

Women in Nigeria are numerous enough to form a political bloc and push their interests through the polls, like everyone else is doing. But as usual, they want to be special. They don't want to get involved.

Rubbish bill.
