They want to kill Dangote refinery..?

China will floood your country with cheap cars and batteries including charging stations. And effectively make u a non fossil fuel .. all just to shore up sales of it's EV and bring back money to main land china
lol…that’s a myopic pov, even ev’s in europe sometimes use fossil generators to charge. Both can coexist side by side depending on the comparative cost advantage. What is wrong with you with shortsightedness?

If they could educate and employ Nigerians. That's a win because China typically utilizes their prisoners to carry out menial jobs and generate revenue for their government. I hope they're not looking forward to taking advantage of our teeming population to their advantage.

Where did you hear this? This is false.

The first page is filled with complainers.

Well, there is it again, as I predicted - Big Daddy China is investing in factories in Nigeria. Your darling West isn't.

Tomorrow, they will say China do this and that. Pretty sure I will see an EUV machine at Ladipo once the Chinese get a grip on its production. grin

Nigeria is gradually becoming china dependent. It's a shame these morons allow china to monopolize everything. The amount of rip off china is exploring unopposed is overwhelming
The benefits are actually there. The Chinese are setting up FACTORIES where Nigerians will be employed and you're lamenting. What/Who stopped the US or Ukay from doing the same? Why are German firms not opening factories in Nigeria?

You people complain about almost every other thing! Don't you get tired?!

That's why many EU and North American countries were careful with allowing China to enter their market. Hope FG is calculative enough.
You mean the same Western countries that shouted everyone should adopt EV and climate change is coming yadayada only to place sanctions on renewable products simply because China has upped its technological power? So we should invest in solar and wind energy when the so-called climate was bad, but as soon as China is roaring, we shouldn't buy from the Chinese?

Why should the federal government be apprehensive when we don't even produce EVs in the first place? Here is China opening a factory to produce EV meaning we can leapfrog the technical gap of petrol driven cars production. Literal free technical transfer. Shouldn't you happy? Before this announcement, did we produce EVs?

Stop looking at issues from a single shallow perspective
Look at the benefits in returns for the people

I spend around 60k on fuel weekly, minimum of 40k weekly just on fuel!.
Imagine how much relief I would get just to recharge my battery for 5k monthly
Imagine the millions that would be saved annually
I would be able to spend my money on other things with more meaningful impact on quality of life!

What an irony for a country with very poor electricity supply, I suppose they will use generators to charge the vehicles.

If Dangote really needed just to refine and export only , he wouldn't site his project in Nigeria... There are extra cost doing business in Nigeria, there is a large bereaucracy and a large mentally of "pull him down syndrome"..

He needs the naija market as much as he also aims for export... We have competitive advantage in the use of fossil fuel to power our lives.. let's not allow china with it's insatiable determination to dominate every nation derail our own very need
Renewable energy and sustainable mobility are where the world is heading to. there's nothing we can do. Heavy industries Will still rely on fossil fuels for a long time. plastics, polymers, fertiliser, etc industries Will still need Fossil infeed. Lastly, the purchasing power of the naira Will surely postpone the fossil fuel Doomsday in this side of the world. We need to get our youths and workforce EV ready for the future.

Do u know about the international copy right act..?

Do u know anything about the climate change mandate by the UN and how countries lines up to stop or extremely reduce the dispelling of dangerous gases into the air..?

Do u or have u ever heard about the nuclear non proliferation pacts signed and binded by world leaders ..?

Now if u hv ever read articles on this agreement and how china refused to sign them all because as they said.. it will mitigate against their national growth...

For copy right: china doesn't know a thing about technology nor science.. but is willing to learn ND is ambitious about learning.. so because the owners of this techs ND science are keeping the secret to it close to their chest...

China refused to sign the copy right act.. instead encouring her firms to duplicated someone work and refusing to b held responsible for it..... With an argument that they never signed not copy in exactness someone else's tech without recognition...

U can read about the other two and China's argument not to sign them..

But u here and African man who has just fossil fuel as him. Mainstay of resources and should use it to ur advantage to grow ur nation, blabbing about how u must fall in line with China's personal ambition...

Come to reality man!

Mom ND dad are not there to fight for naija again.. we are the naija ourselves now

Again u should know that government of nations looks at the big picture and not what a specific individual will save..

U have ur pocket to save from drowning, they have the economy to safe from drowning..

We have had crud oil decades yet we have no internal combustion engines vehicle manufacturing plants in the country

Now you want to build electrical engine vehicles while THERE IS NO POWER TO RECHARGE THE FREAKING CARS cry

What an Irony
Our major source of revenue is crude oil while the world is moving away from fossil fuel.

In no distant future Nigeria will suffer if we don't diversify our economy and move away from crude oil

By that time those asking for Biafra will be granted their Biafra and they they will reject it

As far as I know China doesn't take bribes to conduct business aboard which is a norm in Naija. Back in their country fraudulent business activity/corruption is dealt with very severely.

You dey whine? No dey cap wetin you no sabi. Dey play. For China bribe be like agege bread and agoin. Na red envelope 🧧, expensive rice liquor & cigarettes, gifts, gift cards be their modus operandi.
