How does it sound when you hear a man saying Jesus Christ hate poor people?

Some people think they are above mistakes, instead of ibeayome to come out and correct his mistake he is saying the holy Spirit visited him in the bathroom and said he is not wrong.

I wonder if some pastors take drugs or alcohol before preaching. And his fellow pastors refused to call him to correct his mistake.

Jesus associated with the poor to save them from their poverty. Just had no liking for poverty so don't confuse it. Just as Jesus associated with the sick to save them from sickness.

Are you sure?

Our pastor, David Ibiyome said Jesus hated the poor, and never associated with them.

Being born again and having moral principles are 2 different things

Here in Nigeria, many Nigeria only believe that they can only be moral because they are born again

They don't understand the concept that you can be moral without being a Christian or being religious at all.

Then those born again christians have gotten it wrong.

Many of us don't think we are moral because we are born again. LIke the alcoholic who has stopped drinking alcohol 30 years ago still calls himself an alcoholic, we ...I myself...think I am a sinner who needs God's help to live a life that pleases him, not a life that makes people think I am a moral or good person.

Look at Nigerian Christian doctrines

I don't cheat because I am born again
I don't steal because God saved me
I don't tell lies because I am born again
I don't fornicate because I am born again.
I became rich because I am born again

The funniest stuff is that you don't need to be born again to have principles as a human being or to be rich

Even Jesus doesn't hate poverty! Jesus can be said to be extremely poor according to the Bible.

I can see your subtle dig at the Christian belief and Bible.

Look at his eyes and then compare with all those men who do 419 back in the days.

An alcoholic who stop drinking 30 years ago still feels he is an alcoholic because of the guilt trap of the pastor interpretation of the Bible

They guilt trap the former alcoholic making him think he is still one so that he can always come to Christ for forgiveness.

Whereas, there are people who are not religious but ex alcoholic since 30 years who are free of it.

They took personal responsibility over their lives and don't live a guilt life because of that they have forgotten about their past live, learn the lesson and go on to live a fruitful life.

It is more about personal responsibility, letting old wound heals and not trying to remind yourself through guilt of your past life.

How do you get mentally healed if everyday, you have to live through the torture of ing that you were a former alcoholic and telling Jesus to forgive you everyday

The same format being used by our Nigerian politicians. Keep them poor so you can continue to control them.

Poor man have no say in the society, nobody respect poor man not even his wife. Pray to God for riches that wont make you deviate from the path of God.

Sharap that is not what he said.

And who said jesus hated poverty. How come he made a parable and said it wld be easier for a horse to through the needle hole than a rich man to make heaven.

You're wrong.
Jesus was never poor.
He had a treasurer who was even stealing from the purse without them knowing.

Do you have a treasurer sir

Sharap, Jesus was extremely poor while on earth.

Omooba77:
- Jesus was born in a manger, where animals were kept.

-On the day of his dedication, his parents could only afford doves, rather than lamb required by Moses.

- He commended the poor widow, for giving her mites

- He told people in Luke 9:56-62, that the son of man doesn't have where to lay his head.

-Though Jesus was rich, he became poor, so we can become rich.

2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that sthough he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.

-He never despised the poor.

Jesus was not born rich and was never rich and never decided to became poor so that we can become rich

He never had any economic value

His father was a poor carpenter and he took after his father trade but got bored of it and started studying religious books to start a religious revolution

He never in his adult life work or even earn salaries, never did any hard work, he was dependent on his followers for food and money.

He lived all his life taking from people and also giving people what he took from them

He was smart, know how to build followership, had a mission, live through life and died at 33 years old

Indeed, he loves the poor because they have nothing and are receptive to Him the most.

Having things can keep us away from God.

So how did Jesus get the treasury and what was it used for?

Basicend:

Jesus was not/never poor.

He commanded only the things the he needed at a time. Signalling to us that God supplies based on necessity. That is the highest height of kingdom power and authority.

He is the Lord and has unlimited command and access to all.

Lastly, Jesus does hate poverty or the poor. He loves all.
Explain 2 Corinthians 8:9 in relation to the bolded above.
