Dear Nigeria and Nigerians, we're not your ene.mies. in fact, we're by default "glad tidings for us, glad tidings for you. Look beyond the lies they told you . In general, have you we sold anything to you beyond kindness?

Stop spewing rubbish. It's too early.

In summary they repackaged mimikos award winning work in ondo state back then and called it groundbreaking.Something the whole world celebrated, mimikos even got a world bank appointment I think.... Cant how that went

Unserious country, that mimikos model sounds even better than this and with more detail, they mapped and clustered all expectant women, gave all of them mobile phones and has dedicated health workers attached to them from their lgas and the results were phenomenal.

It died out after him.something the country should have scaled up and adopted meticulously in all states.

These ones have come again too. Everyone wants to achieve accolade for ground breaking. We have heard o groundbreakers.... What we want to hear next is our this is now the new status quo for Nigeria moving forward.

Awon groundbreakers....

Funny thing, Nigeria problem can only be solved by God.....I was in general hospital NYANYA one day, one woman was advised for CS, he said she will born like Hebrew women... The problem of Nigeria can not solve by any researcher

Who else is dis appointed that after reading the long epistle could not figure out the scientific machine or model that will be used in curbing maternal mortality?

What they wrote up there is complete gibberish

This

Aside from the limited sample-size they used, Lagos is not representative of the national situation regarding accessibility of prenatal care to poor Nigerians (who constitute the overwhelming majority of our population)

This news item is pure propaganda

This is really commendable. I urge you to please extend this to other parts of Nigeria especially rural areas that have limited accessibility to heath care. This will bring a relief to our women dying daily just to bring another being to the world. Qudos to you people.

Excellent development.

Kudos to all the scientists involved in this breakthrough.

Don't expect to see it on CNN or BBC or any western media though.

They don't do ''African scientists achieve important medical breakthrough....''

They do ''Somalians flee from bomb blast...''

Or ''Boko Haram attacks Nigerian army base..''

Or........never mind. You get the drift.

I wish we can always keep emotions aside in certain issues.

Western media doesn’t owe any African any obligation to report our good news. We owe ourselves that.

Now, how many of our local media has reported this development? Even NTA; our state owned tv station has not even made a headline of it. Why then should CNN do it for you?

Why should anyone even report it when the treatment or findings is vague? You think medicine is social studies where you do guess work?
In medicine, your license is the easiest to revoke if you do any how.

A lot of work has to be put in research and development of this project. Then get it standardized before wishing CNN to broadcast it for you.

What they wrote up there is complete gibberish

Is not gibberish is using past data, to curb maternity rate, as at today in our modern world data is the most powerful tool, even AI is nothing without data.

So they followup with past data, asking the why questions, that is why they keep pleading or insisting on because data programming is one of the most difficult task.

Hmmm. Commendable but vague. I have so many questions

Were you expecting a full explanation peer reviewed model here?

They've given you enough to follow it up and give a less vague comment.

Actually yes. At least something that makes sense scientifically and not this statement that feels like it was written by a junior researcher. A few links to the pilot study, preprints or previous works would have helped

What they wrote up there is complete gibberish

If you read and understand, you won't be talking the rubbish you are saying. The headline never mentioned any machine. It simply says 'model'. That should be understandable enough but you won't understand because you read with beef in your mind in the first place. It's a commendable thing that mortality rate drastically reduced. That's the good news but it is bitter to you. Enemy of progress.

Do you mean smelling Lagos ?
I tit the small alone will be killing the pregnant mothers according to how obidient n ipob shout online.

deji17:
This is Lagos number. What is the situation in other parts of the country particularly the rural areas?
UpaIweka: 9:01am On May 18
You shoukd be more worried about what givs jn your region are doing than the FG.

Originalsly:
What is ground breaking about maternity care? It's embarrassing to learn that maternity care is not available nationwide in 2025. This is simply a promotion of this maternity care provider ... boasting about meeting the minimum requirement of maternity care ...4 visits. They should state cost. What is the FG doing about providing education ... easily accessible and if not free... affordable centers with qualified staff? Chest beaters everywhere.

And what is the transparency and integrity issue you found in the news? Before the development of the model, it is stated that Nigeria ed for 29% of world mortality rate.

However after the development, they were able to achieve a whopping 99% childbirth success rate. This may in Lagos alone though but it noteworthy because it is thousands in number.

The figures are there to see and it's not a crime to doubt but only that you must doubt with your own verified figures. You are disputing but you don't have your own figures to prove that what the news says is wrong. That is how to counter an argument, not just with unfounded accusations. Stop making your education look like waste.

The same smelling Lagos that gave your Obi its highest number of votes?!!!

The same Lagos that Both Azikiwe and Ojukwu wanted with their blood?!!!

The same Lagos that is London to you the easterner?s!!!

The same Lagos your people cry over anytime things work against them?!!!

The same Lagos they started crying over when Yorubas said they should leave.

A very shameless people you are.
