How is freedom of movement related to this post?

Dangote got the opportunity in a peaceful environment free from radicals to settle his investments,

Instead of being appreciative with this rare opportunity but he chooses to repay his accommodative hosts with neglection

You people will say Yorubas are tribalistic but now read your comment again. If they come for you, you will start crying victim mentality.

Useless NLC

And if U are with NLC go and sit down too,

May we continue to reap the rewards of tribalism in Nigeria. It’s too late to blame Dangote or Tinubu for anything right now because others did what they’re doing right now.

Now, what’s in Dangote’s mind and his reasons? Why would angry workers from other tribes work for my $28 billion company for Allah’s sake? What if they set it on fire 🔥 one night or damage it severely? So, let’s continue with our tribal madness and keep spewing hatred even here. Nonsense 😡

DMerciful:
The rationale behind it is that an Aboki owns the refinery and can employ his people. Go look for Yoruba companies!
It is against labor laws, discriminatory practices. Employment is what a location enjoys, a location that is giving Dangote billions daily...as long as it is in Lagos, residents of Lagos who have lived here, pay rent, pay taxes should enjoy it, not bringing in people with different mentality and orientation in droves into Lagos, this is a security risk...those people will be allowed to roam Lagos State, no documentation, no skills, they will turn into crime and constitute nuisance...I expect Lagos State government to go to that facility and vet all those people, ensure they are housed and guaranteed or removed from Lagos. Even in America you can't do this.
Chucks13: 12:26pm On May 17
This is what NLC was created for, fighting for the plight of workers regardless their employment status than NLC fighting to become a political party chairman.

I NLC on this 100%. The recruiter must tell us why going to Katsin to import workers tagged Laboures? And pls what are Labourers coming to do in crude oil sector, are they recruited to be carry barrels of oil bare hands or on heir heads or what?

The recruiter has so many questions to answer you can't be playing with the entire country under employment pretence.

My question is why going all the way to Katsine to bring 89 young men not 80, not 90 not 100 why he number 89 and for what purpose? All what police are saying are fake, null and void. And why the word "Labourer" in oil producing company?

Yes Dangote should employ indigenous people...it is a grave security risk, and reeks of nepotism to be importing workers from North... what is the rationale behind it?
Anyhow things.

Dangote should stop this nonsense, in fact NLC should force him to return all the wicked Indians he brought to do the jobs that Nigerians can do perfectly.
If he must bring foreigners, he should bring expert Demarks, Germans, British or Americans to manage his facilities; not cheap and very wicked Indians that are treating Nigerians like slaves in their own country.
He should learn from his neighbor, the owners of Lekki Free Port that engaged Demarks, these are people with human feelings, they treat Nigerians like King and Queens (even labourers are well treated).
Dangote, everything is not about money, engaging cheap labourers from Katsina, and cheap labour from India is not right please.

They can vet them but every Nigerian has the right to stay anywhere in Nigeria.

If Nigeria allows quota system, then nothing is off the table. The current govt is disproportionately flooded by Yorubas because they control the presidency without respect for constitutionally enshrined federal character but you want labor law thats subservient to the constitution to be obeyed.

What goes around, comes around

I just hope they won't politicize this issue.
If they get away with this, they'll bring in more of them and that's how they'll form a cluster and start their sinister moves.

Am equally surprised as to how Yorubas are dead silent on this issue which is unusual when it comes to igbos

They used to be, but not now. In labour, like wheelbarrow pushing, the Hausa/Fulani charges the most, followed by Igbos, and the considerable Benue/Tiv people.

Additionally, the Hausa/Fulani have become the least industrious group in Nigeria today. The tribes from the Middle Belt are now recognized as the most hardworking when it comes to menial jobs."
Who did the recognition?
Godsonkemz(m): 12:39pm On May 17
Redeploying of northerners from northern state to southern state in their great number posses security risk. It's possible to find amongst them terrorists, fulani killerherdsmen, bandits infiltrated.
As potential terrorists, they possess a serious security risk to the host community. Don't mind police allaying fears to the public.
Elliotwaveforec: 12:40pm On May 17
Hausas are the strongest and fittest when it comes to labour works; they're the most physically endowed! Come to Badagry where a road project is going on, 90 percent of them are Hausas doing the menial jobs, and they're doing a good job.

Take a look at those so-called "workers", they are not of Northern Nigeria Origin, they all look like meceneries from Niger, Mali and other sub-saharan African countries.
These are the real Bandits. Dangote has confirmed my fears.

Chai! Naija is doomed oh! And the south-west people think igbos are their problems and want to take over their Lagos.
Guestmale: 12:44pm On May 17
Misplaced priority, which fight is NLC really fighting because the full meaning of NLC is Nigerian Labour Congress are these young men not Nigerians and and if it is on security fear what of numerous numbers of young northerners that has been entering Lagos on daily basis to do one menial work or the other, who has been monitoring them or was it because these ones were seen together at Dangote's factory.

The Constitution, which overrides any labour law, says there is freedom of movement for any Nigerian within Nigeria and also the freedom of any Nigerian to work in any place within Nigeria.

Where in the constitution was that stated? The last time I checked It is freedom of movement and not freedom to bring in mass labourers from another state...not the same thing.

Beremx:
NLC should stop sounding like the MURIC professor who uses religious sentiments to talk nonsense. I'm sure the agberos in Lagos are too lazy to work as labourers in Dangote refinery hence the reason why Dangote brought in his brothers for employment. Those northern guys are very hardworking and sincere.

Nonsense

It is the same you that will be crying Lagos is no longer secured when an Islamic fanatic decide to arm these boys with sophisticated weapons. "We will deep the Quran into the Atlantic ocean" comes to mind, maybe it is about to go down....they are just testing the microphone.

I don't agree with NLC on this.

If the labourers were foreigners, then they have a case,

They should rather strive to fight management for recruiting Indians in management and middle level grade positions even though qualified Nigerians are handy to handle the jobs. Not Nigerian labourers from Katsina state who are under threat of insurgency.

They deserve life. Employment. Not castigation.

Also, Location must enjoy job opportunities, the state you cite your business where you are earning from should benefit employment opportunities for its residents from you not bringing in people from other regions.

Labour is very correct on this, it is against good sense.
There are so many indigenes from Lagos state working in the factory. Go and find out.

I don't see anything wrong bringing those boys, except they're found to be security risk.

cool When the indians were here NLC was blind ...I thought they were even fighting to ensure Nigeria Citizens from Kaduna get better wages ..but see their Tribal faces saying absolute rubbish . When Davido's father recruited locally and they use local knowledge to steal his Turbine that can't be hidden in a bag, will he recruit locally again. The constitution allows for freedom of movement, and this people already changed location. I doubt 89 people is 30% , most likely they are even recruited by a contractor, which indemnify the company from any NLC rules.
