Nigeria is not ready for full digitization .
We need to solve the problem of power first.
Clean cheap electricity means more electrical equipments and access to use( in this case computers)

Go to universities. Many of the students in departments 100 and 200 don't even have their own laptop or they have a bullshit sardine can of a laptop that cannot even do basic operations .

Funny as it may seem , most people actually don't know how to use a computer and worse still is our inconsiderate organization and how they arrange exams.

To use computer should be optional and not mandatory because many schools do not even have computers of their own.
Yes the student can learn but they need to have access to computers to learn it.

I cannot have to write paper exams and first have to learn to use biro or pen or paper separately. Use of pen or biro or paper ought to have been part of me already long long before the exams.

If Jamb wants to go full computer based then schools too should start including the use of computers even from junior secondary classes.

And also the time 6:30am is totally inconsiderate.
How on earth in Lagos especially will you schedule an exam for 6:30am ..kilode?

Already that is a recipe for stress and tension.

I think first is they should consider having proper standard teachers in the board who understand the plight of the masses and especially the students.

Even Jamb sef should make their result remain valid for at least 3 - 5 years . Knowing that the number of seats(ission) available in ALL nigerian schools is less than half the total number of candidates that enrol for the exam.

There are just so many issues that ALL stakeholders have a blame in it.

JAMB is a destiny killer. I later realised this when I gained ission to study at the University Of South Africa without written any entrance exam apart from my WAEC result.

That was the moment i realised that my destiny could have died with the Nigeria education settings if i were still waiting to JAMB and post UTME.

It is high time we see beyond this organised institutions and the motives behind there establishment.

Fact. We don't need Jamb especially as the reason it came about has failed entirely. It is a bottleneck that's having pseudo-progress but it is getting worse and mediocrity has taken over. Fake tears and apologies can't fix this rot. He is right on this.

We need intelligent brains of the highest level to converge and restructure this education sector of Nigeria. The best brains definitely are not at the helm. They're not even proactive. They didn't even in all their board meetings that setting exams for 6am for kids was a security risk all rounda. That oversight alone indicts the entire body called jamb.

And as if that wasn't enough, they are ordering a resit under 48hours for an exam that will decide the year of a youth? So 48hrs is enough to study for such an exam after the depression they initially caused. Who are these guys at the helm really? Who are they??

One thing I hate about this man. Is he just condemn without providing a solution. He can't be a good leader.

UncleAyo:
Me think, these will help:

1. Increase JAMB Frequency
The t issions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination should be conducted 2 to 3 times a year. This gives students multiple opportunities to succeed, reduces the pressure of a one-time exam, and aligns with global best practices.

2. Extend JAMB Result Validity
A JAMB result should be valid for at least 2 to 3 years. This will reduce the financial burden on families and give students more time to prepare for university ission processes.

3. Discourage Post-UTME Exams
Post-UTME exams should be phased out. Instead, JAMB should be strengthened to serve as a centralized, standardized, and credible assessment. Strict penalties should be enforced to curb exam malpractice.

4. Remove Limits on Institutional Applications
Students should be able to apply to as many institutions as they choose, just like in many developed countries. This allows for better matching between students and universities, increasing ission chances and reducing bottlenecks.

5. Revise University Grading System
The grading scale should be reviewed. For example, a score of 60% (not the common 70%) and above could be considered an “A”, encouraging realistic and fair academic expectations while promoting critical thinking over rote learning.

6. Link Lecturer Evaluation to Student Performance
Lecturers should be evaluated and promoted based on measurable student outcomes, teaching effectiveness, innovation, and —not just academic publications. This will encourage better teaching and student .

7. Integrate AI Across All Courses
Universities should incorporate Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies into all fields of study—medicine, agriculture, education, law, etc.—to better prepare students for the future workforce.

8. Record and All Classes
All lectures should be recorded in video format and made available to students immediately after each class. This improves learning flexibility and helps students review complex topics at their own pace.

9. Government Grants for IT and Skill Development
The government should provide targeted grants and sponsorships to IT skill acquisition for out-of-school youths and adult workers. This will boost national productivity and reduce unemployment.

10. Upgrade Curriculum for Relevance
Tertiary institutions should update their curriculum regularly to reflect current industry demands and global trends. Courses should prioritize hands-on experience, internships, and soft skills development.

11. Strengthen Student Services
Counseling, career guidance, mentorship, and mental health services should be made readily available in all institutions to holistic student development.

12. Continuous and effective workers skill upgrade measures through online course and offline mediums.

Personally, I wish I had not participated in the NYSC program.

untruthful, huge malpractice at WAEC, then we have JAMB to screen candidates, we want egalitarian society where we wont have low scoring personel earning medicine course, again, thats why i dont want JAMB scrapped

I agree with him. I almost lost my life during my NYSC in the north. The driver and another enger died on the spot. I will never forget that day in my life. I thank God I am alive today

These two organizations are time wasters of Nigerian youth. One will stay at home for years writing Jamb, while those who know road and have long keg have entered school, same with NYSC waiting to be mobilized and wasting one year serving.

Meanwhile abroad at 25 most people who want to go to school have graduated and are working and usually married, their counterpart in Nigeria are still writing Jamb and trying to go for NYSC.

So you see your age mates abroad retire early and starts traveling the world on Vacation while in Nigeria at 40 people are still claiming youth. These are because of these Jamb and NYSC delays

A visionary leader like Peter Obi will bring transformative and innovative ideas to these institutions that were conceived by our founding fathers and make them viable.
These institutions seems to be failing simply because of of a clueless leadership.
In the US, 90-92.9 is A-, while 93-100 is A. So, what you're suggesting about our grading system will only engender mediocrity and erode international competitiveness!
Opebiman: 12:28am On May 15
O and A levels that are riddled with mal practices?

Segzy19:
They can modify NYSC like letting people serve within their region and they can only serve outside their region only if they chose to.. The program itself can be enriched to make it more meaningful

They won't scrap it
A lot of economics and trades are tied to it.
Imagine the number of people that will become jobless; thousands and the ripple effects

Transporters make money moving corp around to various locations

Some people basically rely on the mammy markets as means of livelihood, although it is exploitative

How about those who produce the uniforms and Nysc kits... It's huge millions to them...

JAMB can be scrapped... O and A levels are enough for university ission....

Why should any student forget all he/she read for in just a few days ... 48 hrs is enough to revise and sit back . If you spent 3 weeks to write an exam and failed Nd you know you did not fail, you shouldn't have a problem taking a resit in 48 hrs.

You want JAMB scrap but you cannot propose one single replacement.. JAMB was created to actual structure the ission giving process in Nigeria.

Post UTME and NECO should be scrapped as it is corruption filled and unnecessary.

WAEC should CBT

Kundus đź’Ş to you sowore, jamb should be scrapped and it's headquarters should be turned to a music studio, fashion institute, crypto trading institute, tik tok innovation center, YouTube productivity institute, military drone development institute, etc.
Jamb days has ed,
NUC courses should all be scrapped in all Nigerian universities, except few modifications or reviews in courses such as medicine, dentistry, surgery and stem courses only.

Leave NYSC for people that want to participate in it. If people don't go to collect that "alawee", what would they do?

You talked of almost losing your life, everyone that died did so because NYSC? No any other cause? Even in your community, things don't happen - they happen only because of NYSC.

People achieved things from NYSC. Made friends that changed their lives, people got their life partner from there, but it's the negative you people .

My neigbour almost lost his life too. Their bus was attacked by herdsmen and they were kidnapped. What saved him was his Quran and Alfa status. The Fulani herdsmen spared his life because he was an Alfa (Islamic Scholar).
