princemillla: Even common toothpick used in the USA, is primarily sourced from China. The majority factory in Maine USA that use to produce toothpicks closed in 2003. It cheaper to produce toothpicks now in China, I would doubt if the other major toothpick factory in Minnesota packed up soon. The point is, not that USA cannot produce these things, the cost would just be too high and will lead to hyper inflation. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Trump only ended up in disgracing US, possibly he thought china will not respond like other countries 6 Likes 1 Share |

The haters of trump will say thay China won. The haters of China will say Trump won. But the truth is a renegotiation of trades arrangements will be good for both countries.. If am your biggest buyer and I complain that the cost of doing business is not favourable to me, a smart seller will reconsider such arrangements. The trade war could have bankrupted both country. Forget all those talks that one country has an edge the truth is US China relationship have made both countries bigger economy. What keeps u on business is your biggest supplier and your biggest buyer if either cuts you off u are in trouble.. If could taken US and China many years to effectively replace each other economically,if those years something funny economically could have happened to each one of them 4 Likes |

linearity: Yes for sure this pattern was why iPhone was being assembled in China till today. Heard, they're moving fractions of it to India for assembled and recod has it that Indian assembled iPhone r bad. Most industries moved out of USA which was primarily the reason for this tarrifs. But can it be achieved overbite no. More reason I respect china in this whole tarrifs war. They maintained a mature stance. |

Odidigboigbo: You are not getting the gist sir. China isn't moved instead it has moved on. All what china gets frm USA is now being sourced from other nation like Brazil, Australia even Canada But USA, they r practically out of items with their ports literally empty from Seattled to other heavy-duty ports. I bet u China isn't moved by this trade war but USA. 1 Like 1 Share |

princemillla:You are mostly right but The US is a net exporter of pork and the largest exporter of food in the world, The US is not dependent on China for food China is a Net importer of food like the USA is but China buys more food from the USA net These are things that can be easily fact checked 3 Likes |

NOETHNICITY:That is why Americans prefer basketball to Football They are easily bored like children . They cannot seat down for 90 minutes to watch a game with no goals. So for Trump his tariffs were just a short term excitement. He moves on to the next play since that did not work. China on the other hand is playing the long game thing even beyond Trump's presidency ends 1 Like |

bentenny:what did USA benefit from this negotiations? If Trump wanted to negotiate with any country on earth, all he had to do was ask they'll come to negotiate. Instead he humiliated his country, begged for months for China to talk him after China already replaced USA import with Australia and Brazil produce 1 Like 1 Share |

If there's a 30% duty on Chinese goods entering the US, it isn't fair. .it would also adversely affect the US economy. The US economy will be in a recessionary state throughout the Trump presidency due to these tariffs. 2 Likes |

Odidigboigbo:did China ever say they were not going to negotiate or sign any agreement with the US? Trump said USA had 1trn dollars trade deficit with China and that's what he wanted to erase. Guess what, the deficit is going to rise even higher now that China are buying things they used to buy from USA from Brazil and Australia now. So tell me, what was the negotiations, what did Trump gain except public mockery? 1 Like 1 Share |

bentenny: I wonder why people think that China has won this war. Far from it. Both countries have been bleeding very badly. Check and see how China's economy has suffered deeper level of deflation forcing factories to close and people disposing houses and machinery lower than cost price. China does not have free press like you have in the West, which means that the bleeding in China has been grossly under-reported. At any rate, this 90-day truce does not mean a lot. It is just a window for big buyers like Walmart to quickly buy and stock up. There are TENS of thousands of people inside China that are employed to manage Walmart logistics (just Walmart) and that means that their jobs are secured for a few more months. There are many such companies like Walmart who employ thousands of people inside China. DT and his istration may have gone about this matter in a crude way, but the truth is that dependence on China was going to kill many US's companies in the long run. The major fallout for the US is that many countries will not trust them even when new deals are made. DT is showing that US is ready to take a self-centered route to only work with those who are going to promote US's interests. Again, when you look at that, there is really no trust in international relationships. People only pretend to trust. As they say, the truth is that there are no permanent friends among nations, only permanent interests. The US once bombed Vietnam, but they are trade partners today! 3 Likes |

Odidigboigbo:US is actually the one who made this statement not China meaning that trump in trying to take short cuts and by American system that has worked for more than 300 years actually relinquished the drivers sit to China, something that had never happened in US history. I doubt China will soft pedal like you think after seeing the effects on US economy and stock markets unless they want to be magnanimous and cover trump disastrous blunder |
