Poverty mentality

Adversely, the poor won’t have enough financial resource to haul and hoard.

Whereas In Nigeria, a lot of communities have been without public electricity for many years and the citizens are moving forward without qualms. The people have adapted to suffering

Nigerians are resilient people , this is what we've faced for decades yet no panic .
One thing I have observed is that the west and other parts of Europe has no back up plan in case their energy systems are compromised.

That's human nature...!

In extreme and austere situations, civilization and culture go out the window.

It becomes a matter of survive or die!

We no get time for panic buying in Nigeria. Day to day normal happenings in our country na issue of national security and emergencies in Europe and America. Even if 1,000 people die overnight in a community, that won't stop people to go out for their daily bread.

Life has dealt with us to a point that average nigerians are not afraid of evil by the day and terrors by the night. We are used to it. Lastly, it is those who has enough money dey go on buying spree because of power outage.

Mark Zuckerberg self chop am for Lagos. It was so black that he thought he was blind.

I was expecting this senseless comment.

Is there light in Nigeria in the first place to start with?
I thought I was the only one that saw that very senseless comment. For some of these guys everything bad is and should be normal - darkness, insecurity, hunger, …, and no one should raise an eyebrow. Justifying backwardness with a once in a lifetime mishap in another location on same planet! SMH!🤦🏽‍♂️

We never had light in the first place.
I'm somewhere in Kwara North, locals told me that they had power last in 2019, how can we be proud of a Nation like this? A whole Local Government Area
Their own is still better, Ogbia the headquarters of Ogbia local government home to Oleibiri where the first oil was discovered in Nigeria and home to GEJ last had light in 2015.

If it happened in Nigeria, someone would go on Twitter to sing songs of lamentation to blame the government for the collapse of the national grid.

His party is collapsing, but he can't deal with it.
power outage in Nigeria happens everyday. How do you read pls. grin

In sane countries like these, any blackout in electrical supply must have a tangible and understandably legitimate reason for it to occur.
But here in Nigeria, endemic corruption, ineptitude and incompetence are the major causes of blackouts.

The supermarkets will be smiling to the bank and wishing the lights never comes back on.
Power failure that we just shrug off causing panic elsewhere. What a world we live in.
meobizy(f): 5:23am On Apr 29
Sometimes humans need a reason to appreciate their comfortable lives. I bet the country never knew what power outages felt like before this event. There will always be off-grid locations which exist without electricity. Why those are a thing, I will never know.

It's happening everyday here since you were born but yhe difference is we no longer see it as emergency but normal si we no longer panic. How many blackout and national grio collapse have we witnessed in the past one year? How many hours of light do the average Nigerian have per day? You dey talk like say Nigeria is now America with 24hrs uninterrupted electricity grin una funny no b small.
