She's right, the money is enough to start a business without renting a shop. I don't know about other states but in Lagos, neighbourhood shops now go between 8-10k per month. Shops in busy areas, bus-stops and market places go for much higher and most landlords ask for 2 years rent upfront. The spending won't be on rent alone, she'll need to furnish the shop with chair, table, counters, shelves etc and make it look attractive to customers. She's only telling you the reality of things but you're here poverty shaming her. You strike me as the toxic abusive husband who will treat your wife like you're doing her a favour by marrying her. How I wish she can open her eyes and see how better she'll be far away from you.

I asked a lady I want to marry that if i give her 1m to start a business.
Hmmm she told me 1m cant start any business with a shop.

He asked her to start a business - she is the one who talked about starting a business with a shop. In this day and age are there no businesses you can think of that won't require you to get a shop??

He brought a solution. She brought a problem.

Take a good look at Matthew 25:14-30.

It pays to start small and grow organically in business. Many new generation businesses are crashing because they want CEO chair and table inside a chop selling noodles and groundnut oil.

There is one in my area. She opens when she likes. I looked towards her shop yesterday and thought to myself, this woman's husband must be rich. 😃😃😃

95% of those shops imho are just something the man does to keep his wife occupied. ask any man whose wife has a shop when last they did actual audit of the shop records. in fact if you do it, madam may start to para.

there is no way any such shop can actually grow , especially as there are likely 10 more within a 100m radius

Depending on the mature of business, 1M is not Money in this economy. Let her learn a skill it will be better off. I know how much I spent buying my wife machines and even rent and recapitalizing. Don't be fooled by women haters.

Don't say that. How many people who hawk have goods worth a million naira? It all depends on the business. There are businesses that she can start with that 1 million and still rent a shop. There are others that won't suffice. So she should have researched on what she can do with the 1 million. Again she can start small and scale up later on.

I was telling someone the other time that Nigeria will still create billionaires that started business with less that 100k

Fraud money has make alot of people lose there senses.

Anyone who say one 1m is small today is clearly into fraud.
No one with legitimate income will ever see 1m as small money despite whatever is happening currently in the current.

If she apply for 1million loan today for business does she no how much she will pay has interest.

See my brother we that understand value of money and how it pay to grow business aren't much.

She's right Oga. 1 million in this economy is nothing. Unless you plan not to have a physical shop.

Someone that gave you 1m to start business, can still invest more when you do well with the 1m . That's the wisdom you and his ex girlfriend lack..

You no even fit save 1naira ,make person add to ,for you to start. They gave you 1m now,u could open your mouth to say it's not enough. Go and find who will give you 100m to start,so that you go throw way the money within 1year.

You must be kidding.

1million naira to start a business too small?

Wait, who needs more than 500k to start a business in this generation?

If you don't know how to sell online, stop everything you are doing and learn it with 500k and see if you can't be making 10k profit everyday.

Well, except you married a dumb social media controlled Gen Z still doing tik tok or Snapchat.

Wrong assumption. Not everyone is an entrepreneur. Most reasons why many businesses fail is because non-business people are running business. And not everyone has an orientation like the Igbos give their young from small on how to do business. If you really want to help her, get her a job. If she rejects both then, the man dating her is not just going to be achieveless, he sentenced himself to damnation

Not every part of Lagos is expensive.

What happens to starting small??

1m is more than enough to start a business in lagos but ladies want do show off business.

I no a lady who makes over 500k every month on her nylon business and this cost 200k capital to start.
you want to compare a new business with an already established business with clientele and ready market? How nah?

Majority of girls from poor homes have a very low IQ and that's probably why their parents were poor.
"1m can't start any business with a shop"
A girl that uttered such statement even if you give her 10m she would tell you it's not enough.
Anyone who can't manage or start business with 1m they never worked for or had by themselves won't be able to run a successful business. They would squander any amount given.
Stay off Nigerian girls from poor homes with low IQ.

You’re looking at 1million with old value. Even the Nigerian budget has been set in 1500 per dollar, ing for inflation, hence 1 million of 2 years ago @ 500 per dollar can’t give you thesame purchasing power with 1 million @ 1500 per dollar. You get me?

Proud over nothing......1m is small money.

No one who genuinely clean hustle money will ever say 1m is small.

If your mentality is yahoo boys are the only ones seeing money then Bro you are not in a beta environment,

My "mechanic" has over 1m in his , Fact! so whats the problem if not poverty

in 2006 i did diploma in unilag with about 500k paid cash , 19yrs after you think i will give credence to 1m wink amidst this economic reality

thats why i said upbring and exposure matters alot as to how people view and handle issues.

i dont have 1m in my , but i wont disparage a gurl for saying 1m cant rent and stock a shop inside this economic

She's right...

1m presently in Nigeria can't do no shiit angry.

Here in Ughelli where I'm,only store rent+ wicked agents fees go collect half of that 1m.......So she's definitely right bro..
Why are you paying agent fees?
Agent fees for what?
Na agent build house?
My house here, I rent it out directly.
Why will I rent out a house of mine to a tenant and still allow the tenant to pay 10% to a jobless stranger who is just walking about and claiming to be an agent?

E nor go better for agents, ALL OF THEM.

One thing I noticed is most people with profile hiding their gender all oppose the op, that’s a sign of low IQ.
The country is had yes but you can definitely start up a business with 1m, shop rent inclusive.
I’ve seen countless people spent so much on shop interior buying unnecessary things to beautify the shop and end up stocking the shop with goods less than 200k, these set of people and those opposing the op are one family…

So someone with no business experience a multi million naira shop should be open for her??

With 1m she can conveniently start Palm oil business in gallons and grow it.

Start small , hustle hard and grow.

Most business started that way.....ask around.

The last time I was searching for a house to rent, could you believe I paid about 20k+ to 4 different agents as registration form....But at the end,the houses they all took me to were nothing to write home about.. Meaning I paid money for services that weren't rendered......

The dude is right, you are not smart wt all. A broke lady waiting for 20 million before she starts w business will never succeed in life. Lets reverse the scenario, if you as a broke guy a lady that wants ro marry you offers you 1 million to start a business would your response be this? I guess if your frontal lobe is working currently you will see how weird it is to churn out the above. Entitled people don't usually go far, come out from that Whatsapp group.

N/B nobody owes you nothing in life, you are an adult reason like one and accept ability and responsibilities for yourself, people been benevolent is just an addition and not a right.
