It may be selective or injustice to you. But if you are a rank and file in the job, you have to be very careful. Those you are saying have stay away from work are superior officers, maybe office men, if you are ops,MOPOL, tactical,SPU,SIS, anti terrorist or IGP X squad and been attached to beat, if anything should go wrong, one is in soup, it is a dismissal offence depending on days,weeks or months been absent from duty. it's called abscondment. It's a serious offence under the Public Service Rules and can lead to dismissal. Unless you have the backing of à superior or à godfather, don't go AWOL.
