Zionmdde: Blame the politicians who thought they could trust a godfather, use them to get to the top and try to rubbish them. If you call Wike an Idiot, what will you now call Fubara? Why didn’t Fubara resign if he was truly concerned about rivers and not his personal pocket? 1 Like |

The state government had attributed the demolition of the complex to structural defects arising from explosion and fire outbreak. Joseph Johnson, the state commissioner for information said the incident rendered the building unfit for human use, adding that there were visible cracks on the walls and the entire structure looked frail and unsafe for legislative business. Mr Johnson said that professional advice was sought on the integrity of the building, after Governor Fubara inspection visit to determine the level of damage. “After the assessment of the integrity of the complex, experts warned the government that continuing to use the building in its present state would be disastrous. “The government had tried all cost-saving measures towards the repair of the complex until it bowed to the superior view of rebuilding the complex to a more befitting edifice,” he said. https://www.timesng.com/news/more-news/701807-fubara-awards-n19-6b-contract-for-reconstruction-of-demolished-rivers-assembly-complex.html?tztc=1 |

I had to go back to watch the comments from the Mr. John Samuel - the political stakeholder from Okrika, and I must confess that dirty politics can make people to say and do utterly despicable/reprehensible things. He argued that if the Assembly Complex was not conducive, then the Governor has every right to demolish the entire place. It didn't even augur to him for the slightest moment that if the aim was to maintain the infrastructure, then instead of outright demolishing, the Governor could SIMPLY refurbish the complex. Anyways, all that is history now as we are all aware today what brash decisions like this tearing down of structures meant for institutions has escalated into. 4 Likes 1 Share |

hopexter:What was Saint Wike's relationship with the ones who brought him to the top? So who is wike that fubara will resign because of him. So appointing all commissioners for him was not enough, who has ever done that |

Zionmdde: If Fubara was also appointed, who is he to have a problem with the appointed commissioners? Wike is the one that brought Fubara into governorship, if you don’t like the appointment and it’s something you couldn’t work with, you resign instead of demolishing Rivers house of assembly built by taxpayers money. 2 Likes |

Abagworo: Fubara bombed it through his thugs to prevent his impeachment, he then demolished it to prevent his enemies reconvening in it. He then failed to rebuild it 14 months after, thus allowing his 3-men HOA to hold their monitored sessions in the government house. He was going further, using his goons, to start bombing the FG commonwealth assets of pipeline installations. And you are expecting the FG to leave him to destroy the nation's source of income, just he because he has a beef and a breach of contract issues with his former master. Where is that done? 3 Likes |

Even Obaseki did not go that far, if my memory serves me correctly, Obaseki only used trips of sand to block the assembly complex and maybe also removed the roof. Not even Wike in all his madness has ever demolished a government property. Private individuals maybe but not a monument like this. The demolition of this building is in itself a crime and sufficient for him not to hold a position of power. There is no way they will not spend more than 1 billion to rebuild that complex, money that could have been better used for something else. This kind of person would have started destroying pipelines if he was not taken out. If he is not arrested in the coming days for his involvement in the 2 pipelines bombing so far, he should count himself lucky, Latakia: 3 Likes |

killuminati: is wike not demolishing properties worth billions in abuja for selfish interests? The governor can revoke the c of o or demolish any building for valid reasons and he can build a new one also. |

Dapagun:I keep saying this, the destruction of this HOA complex was absolutely unnecessary. It was an abuse of power. I know this building very well up to a few days before demolition, nothing was wrong with that structure. It was a beautiful edifice. Why destroy it in bid to show the extent of your power? 4 Likes |

ohosi4real:Walahi...you people are not intelligent When will you face the substance of the matter instead of whipping up stupid sentiments? Is wike the house of assembly? Was it wike that asked him to demolish the HOA? By the way,who are Amaechi boys in rivers that could fight wike then? |

Akalia: Tinubu tried to intervene into the matter on two different occasions but Fubara was showing strong head while the elders in their state said President shouldn’t involve in their issue. Firstly, Mr president went to Edo in order to resolve their issues but fubara & the those instigating him didn’t adhere to Mr president candid advice over the matter & 2ndly, Mr President invited them over to FTC & made it clear to those on attendance to go and settle whatever is causing chaos in their state but Fubara was showing strong head & rubbing shoulders with the authority. Hence, where did Mr president miss it 🤷♀️ 2 Likes |
