The assembly was bombed by unknown individuals and the Governor decided to reconstruct it. The news made it seem like the Governor ordered the demolition of a good building

He is an idiot. A selfish idiot for that matter.
Its people.like you that are the problem we have in the world. Which developed country practices politics of godfatherism?
Wike had no business buying no form for nobody. He clearly stiffled and disenfranchised rivers people in 2023. Help kee him there

Blame the politicians who thought they could trust a godfather, use them to get to the top and try to rubbish them. If you call Wike an Idiot, what will you now call Fubara? Why didn’t Fubara resign if he was truly concerned about rivers and not his personal pocket?

"Found a way to sort it out?"
Like resuming slavery duties to wike?
What's wike's business with rivers state?
What was Fubara’s sins that warranted impeachment?

We will all be here to watch the music unfold. Just wishing yaradua was still alive
When they jumped in bed together was I there?

The state government had attributed the demolition of the complex to structural defects arising from explosion and fire outbreak.

Joseph Johnson, the state commissioner for information said the incident rendered the building unfit for human use, adding that there were visible cracks on the walls and the entire structure looked frail and unsafe for legislative business.

Mr Johnson said that professional advice was sought on the integrity of the building, after Governor Fubara inspection visit to determine the level of damage.

“After the assessment of the integrity of the complex, experts warned the government that continuing to use the building in its present state would be disastrous.

“The government had tried all cost-saving measures towards the repair of the complex until it bowed to the superior view of rebuilding the complex to a more befitting edifice,” he said.

Since you were not there, why not try to find out exactly why are having problem. Or are you not wondering why the exact origin of the problem is yet to be made public

I had to go back to watch the comments from the Mr. John Samuel - the political stakeholder from Okrika, and I must confess that dirty politics can make people to say and do utterly despicable/reprehensible things. He argued that if the Assembly Complex was not conducive, then the Governor has every right to demolish the entire place. It didn't even augur to him for the slightest moment that if the aim was to maintain the infrastructure, then instead of outright demolishing, the Governor could SIMPLY refurbish the complex.
Anyways, all that is history now as we are all aware today what brash decisions like this tearing down of structures meant for institutions has escalated into.

What was Saint Wike's relationship with the ones who brought him to the top?
So who is wike that fubara will resign because of him.
So appointing all commissioners for him was not enough, who has ever done that

Section 305 3c of the constitution...The President shall have power to issue a state of emergency only when:
There is breakdown of public order or public safety in any part of the federation to such extent that it requires extraordinary measures to restore peace and order.

What exactly can we say are Extraordinary Measures

I believe this is very broad, and may include suspension of elected officers in that state.

Unrelated to the topic.
All our politicians are wicked and selfish, look at millions of Naira was raised down

Only two things out of many are enough reason to impeach him. This suspension is better if he likes himself

If Fubara was also appointed, who is he to have a problem with the appointed commissioners? Wike is the one that brought Fubara into governorship, if you don’t like the appointment and it’s something you couldn’t work with, you resign instead of demolishing Rivers house of assembly built by taxpayers money.

Fubara bombed it through his thugs to prevent his impeachment, he then demolished it to prevent his enemies reconvening in it. He then failed to rebuild it 14 months after, thus allowing his 3-men HOA to hold their monitored sessions in the government house.

He was going further, using his goons, to start bombing the FG commonwealth assets of pipeline installations. And you are expecting the FG to leave him to destroy the nation's source of income, just he because he has a beef and a breach of contract issues with his former master. Where is that done?

Even Obaseki did not go that far, if my memory serves me correctly, Obaseki only used trips of sand to block the assembly complex and maybe also removed the roof. Not even Wike in all his madness has ever demolished a government property. Private individuals maybe but not a monument like this.

The demolition of this building is in itself a crime and sufficient for him not to hold a position of power. There is no way they will not spend more than 1 billion to rebuild that complex, money that could have been better used for something else. This kind of person would have started destroying pipelines if he was not taken out.

If he is not arrested in the coming days for his involvement in the 2 pipelines bombing so far, he should count himself lucky,

Latakia:
He wanted to copy Obaseki style that prevented 17 lawmakers from performing their duty after he demolish Edo state House of Assembly. But unfortunately Tinubu no be Buhari.

infact I used to be his ardent er thinking he was a true Democrat but I lost all affection for him when he carried out the demolition of the house of assembly, who gave him that advice ffs, again he should have been completely subservient to Wike and now be his own man in his second term, that way he will have succeeded in dismantling wikes structure and build his own and would have eventually become the next godfather of rivers politics, he was not patient and wise
Now I'm beginning to be happy 😊😁 again, we actually have intelligent people on this platform. God bless you sir for your simple and honest input.

I keep saying this, the destruction of this HOA complex was absolutely unnecessary. It was an abuse of power. I know this building very well up to a few days before demolition, nothing was wrong with that structure.
It was a beautiful edifice.
Why destroy it in bid to show the extent of your power?

Walahi...you people are not intelligent

When will you face the substance of the matter instead of whipping up stupid sentiments?

Is wike the house of assembly?
Was it wike that asked him to demolish the HOA?

By the way,who are Amaechi boys in rivers that could fight wike then?

Albeit i am pro fubara but let's tell ourselves the truth, Fubara eff up by demolishing that building and still to this day didn't erect any in place of it.

He really took his political beef too far and look where it's got him-6 months suspension.

On the other hand, Tinubu has an ulterior political motive for declaring state of emergency in rivers state. There are governors that had done worse than Fubara but never received such heavy punitive measure.

Tinubu tried to intervene into the matter on two different occasions but Fubara was showing strong head while the elders in their state said President shouldn’t involve in their issue.
Firstly, Mr president went to Edo in order to resolve their issues but fubara & the those instigating him didn’t adhere to Mr president candid advice over the matter & 2ndly, Mr President invited them over to FTC & made it clear to those on attendance to go and settle whatever is causing chaos in their state but Fubara was showing strong head & rubbing shoulders with the authority.
Hence, where did Mr president miss it 🤷‍♀️

Nigerians are very hypocritical.
They were even silent about it.
A governor demolishing the HOA is am impeachment offence.
Let TINUBU try and demolish the National Assembly against the senate will and see the outcome.

Nigerians only the bad in politicians they hate.Once they love you,if you like start killing their children, they will remain mum.
