No matter how you try to twist it to suit your narrative, the Ajayi man that said what he said and you that is defending him,, it is illiteracy that is your problem. Capital punishment has no two meaning, it means death sentence. When they say go to school, they didn't mean you should just go see the 4 walls of the university, learn something from school.
Illiterate defending his fellow illiterate.
Bro, what Ajayi said was bodly written out in this article, but you're still arguing blindly... Is this a joke?

Capital punishment does not have any meaning in NYSC context. It means capital punishment, i.e., decapitation.
The presidential aide was wrong, and an apology would not be out of order.
As for those asking about the NYSC rules flouted, NYSC bye-laws are publicly available. Go to the website and read where it talks about insubordination to constituted authority. You can ask what constitutes insubordination.
Assuming you argue that calling the boss of her institution terrible does not amount to insubordination, when she was asked to delete the video, did she obey immediately?
She claimed to have been threatened. How many have asked her to explain what constitutes a threat?
She wasn't threatened. She is playing the victim here, just like Senator you know who.
They said she posted a video that NYSC considered to be in bad taste. Ordinarily, Tinubu would not even care. He himself said he didn't read social media because they abused hell out of him. When NYSC asked her to delete the video, it was probably more to protect her and ensure there is discipline in the scheme. By telling a lie that she was victimized, she has blown a simple case that has given her negative publicity. She'd enjoy the fame, then what next?
These social media urchins want to blow. Are they ready to manage the "blowing"? Temporary social media fame is like gas that escapes when you open fizzy drinks. Once it goes, it will never come back, except you continue doing more things to produce more gas. Do you want this type of depressing life?
Do not let the likes of Omoyele Sowore, Deji Adeyanju and Inibehe Effiong deceive you. They'd milk your foolishness to enhance their public image and leave you to dry to move on to the next exciting public matter.
Is right to free speech and expression also considered an insubordination? What makes the silly nysc official think she has right to order her to takedown the video ?
She is lucky the girl is even respectful. My kind of person for insult her ancestors .

This writer will have to show us his source for the new definition he's attempting to give to the phrase "capital punishment" because every dictionary and legal site I see online defines it as "death penalty"
Ajayi has come out to clarify his stance but to claim that what he said was not a misspeak is turning logic on its head and makes you worse than the man who made the mistake initially
The best rebuttal in my opinion should be that there's no provision for capital punishment under NYSC laws not this shamefully nonsensical writeup

Being a presidential aide Mr Ajayi ought to have understood the media terrain and be very careful in using words. Anyways, I believe that he has learnt some lessons.

No, school is not a scam. Many of us are just so much in a rush to be heard and expose our own limitations. The presidential aide had no business talking about this matter. He is even giving the girl more relevance to go and seek asylum abroad that the Nigerian government threatened her life. It is NYSC matter. NYSC have their media people and PR experts. That a presidential aide put his mouth tells us the amount of time on their hands.

Have you all seen where we all learnt how to indirectly yab people in a way that doesn't violate NL rules? Weh done teacher
My question though, is there anywhere in the bye law where "capital punishment" was specified.
If it was not used in the bye law, that means we will have to rely on the meaning of the phrase where it was written which is military law
Capital punishment is a specific phrase that cannot be used in any other context asides the military context
OK, as a mod, what is NL capital punishment based on its list of rules?
Man is not smart

Not only NYSC ...... Even civil/public servants don't just go to media or podcasts or post carelessly on their page or directly criticise the government that you're serving under....
There are avenues to channel tour grievances through and not publicly.
That is the reason why Nigeria is in this bad state. Not criticizing openly is a very big problem for this country and we can see how messy we get for being cowards. During Jonathan's regime, the criticisms were open and that was what made APC win the election. But these days, open criticisms are few to come by because of people who wants to kill you or destroy you hanging around, even though they are all hungry. Don't be surprised if you hear of the salaries of those NYSC officials asking her to take down the videos. They could be earning less than 200k like that o. Mumus everywhere.

The corper was wrong. The aide was wrong. Simple. It is not everything that should be dragged.
However, bat is a terrible president. That is a glaring fact.
The cost of living is crazy, that is a fact.
Please how can you say that cost of living is crazy, when government data shows that inflation is crashing down as terrible T-Pain promised for petrol price and dollar rate before he hit the ground running 22 months ago
Please mind how you tarnish the propaganda image of this government o.
treesun:
Nigeria’s inflation fell to 33.40 percent in July 2024 from 34.19 percent in June on a year-on-year basis.
This is the first time the country’s inflation has cooled down since December 2022 when it stood at 21.34 percent.
The National Bureau of Statistics disclosed this in its latest Consumer Price Index and Inflation for July released on Thursday.
This represents a 0.79 percent decline compared to the 34.19 percent recorded in June 2024.
The decline was in line with the expectations of Financial analysts who projected that the country’s inflation would cool off from July to August.
“The picture is that the rate of increase in price level has begun to slow. Hence we are projecting that information will begin to decline from July to August”, the Chief Executive Officer of Financial Derivatives said in June.
CBN governor, Olayemi Cardoso had earlier assured that the Monetary Policy Committee would do everything to tame inflation.
As part of measures to ensure inflation is tame, CBN through MPC has continued to raise interest rates.
The latest was in July when it raised the rate by 50 basis points to 26.75 percent from 26.25 percent in May.
Additionally, the Nigerian government had recently introduced fiscal measures including zero import duties on selected staple foods to tackle inflation.
Also, recall that Defence Headquarters recently said that it had deployed its troops to farmsz especially in the North East and North Central to ensure a hitch-free farming season in Nigeria.

Goodluck was a simple man that's why we don't want such leaders anymore......
There are channels to go through to make your grievance known. You write letters and the government takes it up....
Infact, you can't take up cases to court directly..... against the agency you're serving.
The government has set everything under control for workers to air their mind through and it works if you follow protocols.

He’d rather the one that graduated in 1970 from school founded in 1974.
Instead of going from GEJ to like Fashola or better this one went to NEPA certificate

You must be an American. Channels in this country are like a one ended pipe o. They are closed at the other end. Your grievances ing through channels don't always and will never get to come out till like forever if you through those channels. We followed the right channel for our father's pension fund to be paid. It didn't get done. They claimed he was dead even before he was near death. They kept eating his money while he was alive. You were lucky your own channel came through after like two years. 99% others didn't get that lucky.
