Nigerians, continue to dey do una self and then be shouting Tinubu. Same with food retailers, they don't want to bring down prices despite prices coming down. This country enh. And they will not hesitate to immediately increase their price if there's a little increase but to bring it down, na wahala.

Shut up there abeg!
When your Tinubu was dragging the price up with his useless policies, didn't he realize the negative attitude of Nigerians?

You are coming to nonsense.

Transporters, market sellers are the problems of this country but effective and efficient government should bring out price regulatory agency with a task force to combat market sellers or transporters hiking prices

Actually, one of the major problems we have in this country is greed. Not from government, but from the people themselves, so I’m not surprised

Nigerians are the most wicked people on earth, they take advantage of everything to unleash wickedness.

When prices of anything increase in this country, it's reflect on everything. But once the price reduced, we start giving excuses on why it cannot reflect.... We just like to take undue advantage of everything. Everybody wants to oppress everybody

Its like Nigerians secretly pray for inflation so they can use the opportunity to massively inflate the prices of products otherwise how do you explain their bland refusal to ensure price reduction?

It's no longer economies determined by market forces but by insatiable greed.

The wavery and unpredictability of the refinery prices is why the transport services are being reluctant.

Most service outlets and transporters will wait and study the trends well before getting convinced to change their price.

Govt now see that it has a lot to do with consistency about this thing (they have to keep FX rate stable consistently, since they don't have a say over international oil price).

Greed is the bane of the average Nigerian, unfortunately. Even when things have eased up a bit, most traders, transporters, landlords and marketers still maintain their high prices, some even up them further. God help us

It's either people commenting don't know how to read or they're sponsored by Tinubu to continue blame shifting victim blaming campaign that he has been doing since he rigged himself in

This is very unbelievable.

Mr. OP, I know fully well that the cost of transport from Egbeda to Ikeja was never 100 naira, not to talk of your imaginary 200 or 300 naira. The cost of transport to Ikeja from Egbeda is 800 naira presently and it is easily verifiable. The said 200 is paid by those going to Dopemu roundabout from Egbeda. By the way, the transport fare to Ikeja was 500 naira even as of 2023. You can all. Don’t paint a wrong picture here please. Petrol price reduced in Lagos, yet transport cost remains high. It is the same with other states, except that you are being lazy to do a proper job.

I wonder how you did not do you homework well before this report of Anambra state. Some of you fellows appear to be very obsessed with matters of Abambra state. Petrol was never 1,600. I wonder how you got that. Even in December when it. Was celebration time, petrol price did not exceed 1,200 per liter.

What you call the reduction in interstate transport is the norm for this period. Transporters hiked their prices during the Christmas holidays. Now that the season is over, they have reverted to the prices before Christmas. God is good for example charged between 30k and 35k, depending on the bus operated, before Christmas.

Please give us an honest report from other states. Lagos and Anambra are not the only states in Nigeria.

God is Good charged me 43K to Aba just last weekend.

NNPCL is started with public funds and the Nigerian people are still owners in the company. NNPCL should double up on their capacity in of refining, the crude is owned by Nigerians, NNPCL and FG must work together create filling stations everywhere and refine more, so they can force the price down.

NNPCL should know that it was created for the good of Nigerians and ensure stable supply Nd good pricing for Nigerians. It is not about only making profit, NNPCL should be working for the good and interest of the Nigerian people by reducing fuel price, simply by controlling the market with more refining capacity, more distribution hubs/filling stations nationwide.
NNPC is a limited liability company.
Fem no send anybody.

Former NNPC was a corporation owned by FG with stake at least 51%.

The transformation of NNPC to limited liability was a fraud in itself.

Good evening

😆 ...see who is calling others dullards.. ; 🤣

It is easy to know those who do not have the basic understanding of primary school economics/commerce or to know of pricing dynamics in elementary management ing.

A comment like the one below sells such a person out easily and puts him/her naked to the discerning.

So, the cost of spare parts determines the price of transportation fare?. I asked again, where do Nigeria get these bunch of dullards?.

I was very disappointed the day a CNG-operated keke Marwa charged me the same fare (₦600) that his petrol-operated counterparts were charging for the same route in Lagos.

Some of these transporters can be so greedy & inconsiderate.

Don't be surprised Nigerians, e dey happen for abroad too, it is human nature to be greedy. What needs to happen is that government enact and enforce laws against this greed, something like an anti price gourging law or monopoly law. This is what was done in California during Covid and plenty of business owners were fined or jailed......It takes madness to cure madness grin grin
Blazetrailer: 9:03pm On Mar 08
Wrong. Former NNPC was owned 100% by Nigerians via the Federal government. NNPC in turn held a majority stake in all oil JVs on behalf of Nigerians

Current NNPCL is still a government linked company(google GLC) established via an act of parliament. In a way it is still owned by the Nigerian public represented by the FG as a majority shareholder, much like Crown Corporations in UK/Canada and Government partnership enterprises in the US.

Just a a point of correction.

I agree with you though,on the less than transparent approach of the PIB and the obvious shenanigans surrounding it.

Still on Tinubu. When Tinubu was sworn in, Golf 3 was around 1.3 million. Fast forward to today, same car is now selling for more than 4.5 million

Make life easy for Nigerians, why? Nigerians themselves enjoy suffering. It’s one of two options; make things easy for them and they’ll abuse the situation or make things difficult for them and they’ll act humble. I know the decision I’ll take.

Again.
It can't come down that easily.
It takes time to effect.
It will go down if the price remains consistently lower or the same.

Some others will reduce to drive patronage and others will follow suit.

If u are running a business
You can deduce
Not holding brief for greedy traders though
