Yorubas fought for return to democratic rule during the dark days of Nigeria under Military junta. You must have heard about NADECO and the June 12 struggle. Yorubas (including maybe few Igbos) fought that battle to save Nigeria.

I listened to the IBB address and I can't understand the length and grace people accorded the so-called remorse he was said to have made. To me, TRUE remorse cannot be divorced from repentance and the proof of it is RESTITUTION! Did he repent? No! Did he offer restitution? No! Then, where is his remorse that people trumpet about?

If I heard him well, he said he took responsibilities for the June 12 issue but was quick to say that he took the decision in the interest of the nation which is the survival of the nation.
