Barring unforseen circumstances, I think Tinubu has won 2027 elections already. Tinubu is STRATEGIC, he will start this strategic project this 2025. By 2026, he will start another strategic project and all thise projects will now be competing for attention on social media. As he8doing his own in Abuja, Lagos will also be starting and COMMISSIONING BIG PROJECTS. What a time to be alive.

E go teh ooo

52 months is 4.3yrs.

But it's a wonderful initiative.

I have always wondered why in the 65yrs of Nigeria 's existence, there is no such rail infrastructure that connects Lagos to Abuja.

But it's better late than never

If u check dem never pay shishi for d train or even award contracts for d rail.

For even thinking in that direction, I doff my hat for Tinubu, Obi can never think towards that direction. The refineries are working, Dangote refinery is also working in the LFTZ that Tinubu created. Damn, Tinubu's hand all over the place while haters keep leaving their enclaves in night buses to Tinubu's Lagos. Many things dey happen.

You address the safety concerns not run away from such projects. That's what leaders with clear vision do, they see success where others see roadblocks.

Yes, some people are wired to stop and turn back at any obstacle. They focus on the obstacles and lose sight of the opportunity. That's why real leaders and visionaries are rare.

My argument is not exaggerated oga

Majority would pick train high speed over bus for so many reasons and pay more even...

Bus to these areas now cost over 35k so why won't they pay 50k for train instead of 120k for plane
How will kanoo that connecta Niger and Chad from Abuja in addition to Kaduna that connects north central and east command less traffic than SE that connects far less. The (road) connection between Mombasa and most of east Africa already covers what SE/SS is suppose to link onto in centeal Africa.

Your point is valid in principle and logic but greatly exaggerated to win inter regional strife in Nigeria.

And steady electricity. This is very important cos it's going to change everything in Nigeria. And it seems like it's rocket science to give us steady electricity.

No govt both past and present has achieved any meaningful progress on this.

We need to be patient for electricity. Buhari's idea (i.e DECENTRALIZATION OF POWER GENERATION) will help electricity supply in Nigeria. Unfortunately, Tinubu was the one who came up with the idea when he wanted to start power generation with ENRON when he was Governor of Lagos state, but Obasanjo killed the idea.

Already states like Oyo and Ogun states will be commissioning their power plants later THIS YEAR.

You can't leave power generation 100% in the hand of FG and expect them to supply the country.

Finally a rail line that can make sense because if you put ticket at ₦50, 000 people would massively buy it... In fact it can do 20 trips daily and still be 80% filled most times

The other one is Lagos to Eastern Region rail.. Benin, warri ,port Harcourt With Branch off to Onitsha and owerri ... Even if you put ticket here at ₦50, 000 it would be 90% filled

Outside this there is no other rail system you can put the price at 20k and get 50% filled train

This is economics not sentiments
eastern region don't longer exist cause south south was maltreated by your people, so don't tag us as one. Be bold to call your region without attaching yourself to south south. Thunder will fire you anytime you add us together. If we were one, Isaac Boro will not have declared Niger delta republic that the foolish Aguyi Ironsi and the coword Ojukwu killed his boys and got him jail because they believe in one Nigerian at that time, because they were incharge of the country but after Ironsi was killed, Ojukwu later declared Biafra republic and think Nigeria will take it lightly with him.

This is a very good project but I think the government should focus on completing the rail projects and fixing the roads that are been rehabilitated across Nigeria for now.

Many folks don’t understand the issue before commenting. They are not using government money to do this. Most of the big projects are private sector financing with little government money as counterpart funds. Thats why they are starting and hurrying up to finish. If they are government financed, it will take time to approve it, some kickbacks will take place and contractors will delay hoping to demand for more money. But in this case there is no kickbacks and no delays because money is coming from private pockets. And the earlier they complete the projects the quicker they get their money back by operating the projects.

Coastal highway ed through the back of my house. I've never seen a road constructed with so much speed. They are even working at night. It is crazy. So many things may be wrong with Nigeria but when we see good things, it cost nothing to acknowledge

How many lanes are they constructing now? What was approved and what is being done? Is it the same 10-lanes approved?

Pa Vitalis, as you have been told in the past - government goes well beyond Alaba market economics of simple profit making.

Government decisions on providing train services often consider more than just economic viability. While financial sustainability is important, governments also take into social benefits, public needs, and strategic importance.

Una no believe am. OBIDENSE wouldn't have thought of such project. He said the coastal highway was unnecessary because government should complete other road projects, thats3when I thought to myself, so am even smarter than this guy. Commercial motorists will not be happy about this development. They will be sent out of business shortly in no time.

At least more security guaranteed to a large extent

Looking forward to when trains will begin running ecowas route. E.g Lagos-Ghana

For your information, my property and thousands others were saved because they realigned it and reduced the lane. I guess you would prefer they destroy my property just to maintain the 10 lane. I got a notice of demolition around March last year but my property was eventually saved.

Secondly, they paid compensation to everyone whose property were eventually demolished. Could you believed even a mallam with container was given about 2 million naira for damages? I mentioned the mallam because I personally know him. The baale in that area made so much money because he was issuing receipts to all the property owners and even people with containers. As long as you go with that receipt , you get huge compensation for your property depending on the structure you have on it.( These people have no C of O) yet they are all compensated.

This is my personal experience.

Vandalization of the tracks won't allow that thing work in Nigeria for more than 3 days..

Instead we should focus on the ones that our power would reach.. Standard gauge and be serious with it.. for once

YUP. Tbh this should have been the dreams of our leaders in the past since the sixties, build massive infrastructure such that future leaders just innovate and maintain. I wonder what happened
