The political tension in Osun State took a new dimension on Monday, with the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) urging the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency in the state after some people were reportedly killed.

Should they not call for Oyetola's sack and prosecution instead
press9jatv:
The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, on Friday, urged security agencies in Osun State to take action and ensure that local government officials elected in the October 15, 2022, election resume their respective duty posts as soon as possible.
The Court of Appeal, Akure Division, recently upheld the appeal filed by the chairmen and councillors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, dismissing the suit filed by the Peoples Democratic Party against the election as presumptive.
Speaking in Osogbo during a meeting with the elected chairmen and councillors, Oyetola assured them that they would return to their offices, relying solely on the rule of law.
The former Osun governor, who was accompanied at the meeting by the state APC Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, former Deputy Governor Benedict Alabi, Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, Bola Oyebamiji, and others, warned against acts of lawlessness.

Bobloco:
The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has declared that the sacked Osun State Local Government Chairmen and Councillors can’t force their way back into office because a substantive judgment of the Appeal Court has since sealed their fate.
National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Debo Ologunagba, said this in a statement, in Abuja, on Monday.
He cautioned the affected local government political leaders to perish the thought of forcing themselves back into office as such will amount to a futile venture with dire consequences.
Ologunagba said, “The PDP also charges the All Progressives Congress (APC) to accept the reality and end its resort to self-help, misrepresentations, vituperations, violence and killing with the aim to trigger crisis and destabilize the State, having realized that it has irredeemably lost.
“The PDP asserts that the fate of the ousted Local Government Chairmen and Councilors was sealed by the Judgment of the Court to Appeal which nullified the unconstitutional attempt by the then Governor Gboyega Oyetola to illegally plant them as Local Government officers in the guise of an election.
“Having been roundly rejected by the people of Osun State in the Saturday, July 16, 2022, governorship election, the then Governor Oyetola and the APC ought to have known that attempting to side-step the laws and manipulate the process to illegally foist APC and apologists as Local Government Chairmen and Counselors was an exercise in futility which was bound to fail ultimately.
“The APC is the architect of its misfortune. It should have known that disregarding and refusing to comply with the provisions of the Constitution and the Osun State Local Government Election Laws with respect to the requirement on notices, processes and procedures of conducting local government elections is destined to be fatal and irreparable.
“We counsel the Osun State APC to stop playing to the gallery by trying to bring in the exulted office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria into disrepute by hopelessly dropping the President’s name at public spaces in their desperate but pathetic and unrealizable attempt to garner undeserved sympathy.
“The APC should note that our nation operates a federal system of government with clearly entrenched devolution of powers among the federating units as well as the various sub-national tiers of government.
“It should therefore desist from the fruitless attempt to drag President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government into the issue of local government election which, under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), is within the purview of the State and has no connection whatsoever with the Federal Government.”
The PDP further said, “If the APC believes that it is truly popular in Osun State as it claims, it should rather get ready for election as already scheduled by the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) instead of holding unto an imaginary strand of straw and instigating violence and killings in the State.
“Our Party strongly condemns the violence and killing of some youths today by APC thugs and calls on the Inspector General of Police to hold APC leaders in Osun State responsible and bring them to book for this heinous crime.
“The PDP calls on the people of Osun State to remain calm, law-abiding and get ready for the Local Government Election as they continue to Governor Ademola Adeleke in his outstanding delivery of monumental life-enhancing projects and programs in the State.”

The A-looter Poverty Congress, APC is worse than demonic.
Have they not made everything worse than when PDP was in office, despite their promise of change 10 years ago? Did they mean shege back then
Emergingnation:
Flashback: How Bola Tinubu spoke highly of Buhari in 2015, named PDP ‘Poverty Development Party
National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu had during the presidential campaign in 2015, referred to President Muhammadu Buhari as the only solution for the security and economic challenges facing Nigeria.
During a mega presidential rally, the former governor of Lagos State recalled how some powerful nations in the world returned to army generals when they were challenged, saying “Major General Buhari would revive Nigeria’s economy”.
He named the current opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP as the “Poverty Development Party saying they had nothing to offer.
His words at the time were; “Every nation has a period of their own challenges, when America was challenged, they turned to one great man, their ex-military general, General Eisenhower. When the French were challenged, they turned to their general, Charles de Gaulle.
“When Britain was challenged, they turned to their general. Today, Nigeria is economically and physically challenged so we turn to General Muhammadu Buhari. He is the right man for the job. If you talk about military experience, he has it abundantly, he has courage, simplicity, he has it abundantly.
“If you talk about great determination, a combination of vision and ability to perform, honesty and integrity, he has it abundantly.
“I laugh when the incapable government, ‘Poverty Development Party’ PDP were talking. They have nothing again to say, they now want to question the qualifications of General Buhari and look for his certificate”.
Following the manifestos in 2015 which projected the APC presidential candidate as a ‘saviour’, Buhari defeated the then incumbent president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan with Nigerians expecting a total change in security and economy.

Just less than 10 people killed in 48 hours , they talking of state of emergency. I can see the tactics APC wants to take over the state by force . But I just the Imoles. They will resist by force .

The appeal court's verdict is is biased. Oyetola rushed and conducted a.LG election at the last minute as governor, which he refused to do throughout his tenure despite the outcry,.just to create tension and unnecessary stress for the incoming governor. Adeleke had done the right thing by removing them. Oyetola a very foolish man and that's the confirmation of his incompetence as governor. I wonder why people are ing this madness.Meanwhile, it's too early to cry cos the supreme court is still there to explore.
Our people are just setting bad precedents for themselves. Power is transient. If presidency gets to another tribe tomorrow and we're being marginalised, they must not protest because the Internet can't lie. They're keeping quiet over that they're supposed to condemn now. Its alright.

Yoruba don't put people in their place and it's going to cost and consume them now in Osun where there are no more Yoruba, they had to make yanmiri the governor. Osun people no get commonsense, you will learn through pain. What will it take for Yoruba to understand that all you owe Adelekes is respect, they should have no place in our politics, they are NOT Yoruba and their loyalties are divided. I pray that Yoruba will wise up one day. I begging them here before the elections to keep the leadership of Osun in Yoruba's hand, but they ignored me. Adeleke will bring busloads of ibos to come and terrorize them in Osun. Have you heard of ibos herdsmen? They're fulani herdsmen on steroids.

I don't need to argue with you. A biased mind will not see what is good in another person. You didn't mention the construction works going on in Osogbo, Ile-fe, Ede and other cities in the state. You forget to mention the clearing of outstanding salaries. With what you wrote, I can say you are not living in osun or you decided to be economical with the truth. On the issue of Ido osun airport relocation, I condemn that but politicians will always do what favour them. Be truthful for once.
