Being debt free doesn’t translate to anything. The US has the highest amount of public debt yet they are doing well for themselves and are seen as model to other countries. Tell the leaders the truth and stop all those eye service 1 Like |

DejiPlug: In fairness Oyedepo is not a fan of tinubu at all. Someone that openly ed Obi in the last election. He has also been critical of APC In the past. But then again, Oyedepo also bought himself a jet, and a hangar to keep it in. People who live in glass houses.... 1 Like |

AbuTwins: Because clerics live in the country with the rest of us, so naturally they have to be interested in politics. At the end, clerics use the same public services or rely on them to some extent. Oyedepo is a businessman (and a pastor) and his businesses struggled under the APC economic crisis. So, naturally, he has an interest in who becomes president, especially if he feels the guy would do a better job. ON no do I back Tinubu or Obi or atiku, so this comment is not defending or attacking any one. It is just to show you why clerics may be interested in politics Recently, one Imam asked muslims to vote for Sharia compliant politicans. Without commenting on the merits of sharia as a legal system for a very religiously and culturaly diverse nation like Nigeria, the imam may have made such a call (again, I do not claim to know his mind)..because he feels that sharia may help curb some of the massive lawlessness among muslim nigerians...if they had to face a religious law maybe they would stop stealing and start working hard. Yes, someone may call the above idea flawed (and as a christian, I prefer we have a secular system of justice instead of one that is religious based because Nigeria is too diverse for a christian or muslim theocracy..or even a Pagan one...and anyway pagan beliefs are too diverse, and secularism, whilst imperfect , is the least bad of a whole lot)....but it shows a guy who is concerned about what is going on in society. Oyedepo too in addition to his business interests has a lot of parishoners who are suffering economically. He may have felt that a change in government means a change in economic policy, which would benefit most if not all of his parishoners. Hence his for Obi Expecting clerics not to have interest in politics is impossible. We don't have to agree with their ideas for the nation (just as most people won't agree with my proposition for government that all hard drug sellers and couriers should be shot on the spot) but we should not deny them their right to making their voices heard. And no, not every parishoner listens to what their big man pastor says. AM sure a lot of Living faith still voted for APC anyway, and still APC. Politics is not always as it seems. Or would we rather have clerics that were not interested in what was going on around them? That is not realistic. 3 Likes |

No country is totally debt free. The question is the monies borrowed are they used for the purpose it is borrowed for or looted. Most advanced countries with grade 'A' infrastructures did it with borrowed funds and taxes and good leaders. Not until our institutions work and leaders in those institutions the executives, legislators and judiciary are held able, we are in for a long thing. |

Only fools are against this man's harmless wish for Nigeria. Must we see negativity when a pastor is concerned? What this man has achieved in his 70 years of existence, some of you will not dare 1% even if you live 70 millions years. What I have learned from this man and applied to my life, I have not learnt it from any Nigerian alive or dead. No matter your negative opinions about him, he will be our role model for life. We know what we enjoy following him. Giving him tithe is never enough. I earn my money and I personally decide how to spend it. Get a fvck out foolish people. 1 Like 1 Share |
