Garba Koko, a member of the house of representatives, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Tajudeen Abbas, speaker of the house, announced Koko’s defection in a letter read on the floor of the lower legislative chamber on Wednesday.

Koko represents Besse/Maiyama Yema federal constituency of Kebbi state.

The legislator said he resolved to dump the PDP over the “prolonged and protracted” crisis in the party.

However, Kingsley Chinda, the minority leader, countered Koko, saying there is no protracted crisis in the PDP.

“It is important to correct the erroneous impression. There is no protracted problem in PDP,”
he said.

Chinda said all political parties in the country, including the APC and Labour Party (LP), have one form of internal wrangling or the other.

He asked the speaker to declare the seat of the defected lawmaker vacant in line with section 68 of the 1999 constitution which outlines the conditions under which a member can lose their seat.

“The house should implement the constitution by declaring the seat vacant. Let us not continue to set a bad precedent,” he said.

Responding, Abbas said only the court has such powers.

The defection comes about 24 hours after Amos Magaji from Kaduna announced his defection from the PDP to the APC.

In recent weeks, a number of lawmakers have defected from the PDP and LP to the APC.

On October 2, Chris Nkwonta, who represents Ukwa east/Ukwa west federal constituency of Abia state, left the PDP for APC.

On October 30, Sulaiman Abubakar, who represents Gummi/Bukkuyum federal constituency of Zamfara, ditched the PDP for the APC.

On December 5, four LP and one PDP lawmaker in the green chamber defected to the APC.

So, even after boasting of over 70% of all elected officials in the country, some clowns still believe APC has lost relevance and would be relegated in 2027....Thats silly reasoning

I just dey laugh.
Kenneth Okonkwo
Doyin Okupe
Those 2 were the closest advisers to Obi last election. Who are they ing today?

Daniel Bwala
Reno Omokri
Who were they ing last election?

Now, I see the stupid Obidients ing Elrufai and I laugh.

Before the 2023 election, did you ever see Wike criticize Tinubu?
Fayose criticized Buhari only when Buhari and Tinubu had issues. But did you ever see him criticize Tinubu?
As an Obidient, ask yourself. Have you ever seen Peter Obi criticize Tinubu?

Peter Obi is just a tool to keep SE votes from aligning with the North.
If you want to argue, tell Obi to disclose those who funded his campaign last election.

Nigeria politicians are not stable. So let discuss something more important...

This is Seven signs of high cholesterol that can show up during sleep - including dizziness and pain

High cholesterol often doesn't have any symptoms, which is why it is often known as a 'silent killer'

Some symptoms are easier to spot in bed at night.
While high cholesterol often doesn't have noticeable symptoms, there are some warning signs that you could experience that may have you thinking about speaking to a doctor. Particularly at night, some red flags become more apparent when we lay still with little on our minds.

Chest pain is one of the biggest and most common problems you can face when dealing with heightened cholesterol. The sensation is due to a build-up of artery-clogging plaque that restricts blood flow to the heart and increases someone's risk of a heart attack.

Experiencing chest pain can be a scary feeling that is often easier to spot while lying down in bed. People could also suffer from dizziness when changing positions in bed if they are struggling with high cholesterol.

The feeling of light-headedness is due to reduced blood flow to the brain. A lack of blood flow through clogged arteries can also lead to feelings of restlessness, especially in your legs, reports the Mirror.

You may be more prone to restless leg syndrome (RLS) in the bedroom when dealing with high cholesterol. Research suggests a link between increased cholesterol levels and the risk of developing RLS, with studies showing that individuals diagnosed with the condition often have higher total LDL cholesterol levels (known as the 'bad' cholesterol) compared to those without the condition.

"Responding, Abbas said only the court has such powers."

Hmmm..

The sentence above ..does it make any sense Is this not the only legal and logical way to go about declaring the seats of defected lawmakers vacant

I know it doesn't go down well with some people concerning Rivers Assembly...they don't want law...they want wuruwuru

Some people be drooling over this news as if it's anything new.

The truth is politicians for financial and other reasons usually port to the ruling party

Let LP or PDP or SDP win presidency today and see the politicians moving there in droves

As it is now, we don't have any opposition party in this country, just two old thieves who lost in 2023 masquerading as opposition leaders.

I am waiting to see what they will say after the forthcoming Anambra state elections.
Let's see how much influence Peter has in his home state.
They are joking with PBAT
