I went to the South West for the first time in my life last week and all the way from ore to my stop at ibadan, Police just dey extort drivers. And they were so many on the road. I'm sure my driver spent at least 1K settling police men at various points. The police at Edo were not like this at all. But from Ore onwards, it was a different story. And even when I continued from ibadan to ilorin, the extortion continued

Civil recants are worse than those leading them. They are extortionists. People should be able to make use of the corridor if it is free of BRT at that moment, otherwise, government should demarcate it completely for s to know it’s a BRT corridor. Do they enforce such law in the night when there’s traffic or even during the day when there’s a stand-still, due to traffic? And that’s the time they should have arrested lots of vehicles because they are impeding roads for BRT buses to . In Singapore, where we copied BRT initiatives, they completely demarcate their own lanes and gave exit route at intervals. In Europe, vehicles ply and drive on trams’ rails and nobody arrests them. So, if the lane is free and there’s no traffic, other vehicles should be allowed to drive freely on our roads. |

This is seriously unfair, masses are suffering, coupled with the high cost of fuel. Somebody would still extort you. It's better I take a public transport than to drive now. Cos its not getting better at all.

helinues:You made a valid and reasonable point. I always say it that an average Nigerian is corrupt. Some of them want a better country but are not ready to obey the law. The government is also seriously failing in her responsibilities to the people. To get drivers license in Nigeria is the easiest thing even for someone without a driving experience. If govt try to implement certain laws to bring sanity, na the same citizen go complain say govt is not considerate. See, it will take so many years for Nigeria to get it right. Our differences in culture, ethnic and religion is a major setback for us as a nation. |

Lukuluku69: This exactly is my approach. I only drive to my office in VI and when necessary, I drive to the airport, park there travel and return to carry my vehicle. I have stopped trying going to other parts of Lagos i'd joyfully drive down to go and share beer with friends before now. Those vampires are generally belligerent and unreasonable always with their criminal approach to extortion. 1 Like |

Realdeals: The reason they made that road one-way and without any road sign is a misery. A lawyer or a well-meaning individual need to help us sue Lagos task force especially those anti one way team b to count. Someone once told me he asked lastma if he can this particular road and the lastma told him yes only to get arrested by Lagos task force (anti one way team b)

I'm not sure coming from Iyana Ipaja as you've shown in the image is One-way. Most arrest are made from those coming from Ile-epo and wants to by traffic at Iyana Ipaja and burst out at Arigbanla on Ipaja road. No one will ordinarily the route if you are not conversant with it. Whois:

Realdeals: Care to point it via map? Thanks Update: Seen you've added it to the map. To God those task force arrest any vehicle that enter the road from the express. They said the second road "Sholabomi crescent" is not considered one-way, you can enter from the express.

This particular location heading towards ikorodu is a trap as there is no clearly marked area that shows it’s a brt lane . I was a victim last year September on my way to ikorodu. All my plea fell on deaf ear. My car was towed to their office at ketu . I had to pay 70k before my was was released to me. Lagos state government needs to look into this as quick as possible .

It's a deliberate action. Government has encouraged this bad habit from law enforcement to stay on the road and cause more problems for commuters as if the daily problems are not enough. Even if people gang up and deal with these officers in an area, it would only embolden them because there is no correction from the top and they believe they are above the law. What a shame! This is not law and order. It's chaos upon chaos. |
