Without ports it’s hard to determine where someone is from, however, it’s a foolish idea not to accept your own deported citizens. The US government may be forced to do something else drastic, like drop them off at the illegal entry points they supposedly entered from

Update: Rejecting your own countrymen is a disgrace to any nation. If they’re treated unfairly by another country, the least you can do is accept them and resettle them, you have no right to tell another country how to apply their own immigration rules.

A sensible nairalander here.

The country (US) still did well to transport them properly and safely back to their country.

What if US had just dropped them to one of the desert or forest they ed through to enter their country illegally.

Mexico also did the same thing. I was so surprised to see the news. Like for real, you allowed these people to through your country to US but you don't want them back to follow the route in which they entered another country illegally

And to think of it based on international laws, did you know that the US could sue Mexico for allowing such breach of inflow to their neighbor.

Immigration is one way a country generate revenue. And you don't expect a sensible government to allow such kind of illegal immigrants. You want do come into our country and enjoy all the benefits, fine, doing it legally and pay all the necessary fees. Simple

The US is about to enter into it's century of humiliation.

No one respects them anymore, talkless of fear. The world now sees through their hypocrisy. How hard they've fallen.

Their greatest undoing was fighting a proxy war against Russia. I believe Russia was placed in this world by God to check the excesses of western powers, especially the US.

The US no longer lead in the technological sphere. China is at least 40 years ahead. Even experts in the US say this.
the U.S are biting more than they can chew. A beautiful one there coming from these foreign leaders. They can’t treat migrants like criminals, I mean it unheard of. So degrading… How I wish our African leaders could have the moral for this kind of stunt. No be only to dey harass our nabors like Niger who are trying to be themselves. Imagine ecowas have yet not said anything. These so called illegal migrants according to the U.S are the ones developing and sustaining some part of their economy by keeping balls rolling…

I ask please, Mexico shares a common border with the US, are they not allowed Visa free entry into the US? Why can't US use heavy tax borden on illegal Immigrants to achieve this crude style of rejection. If those guys paid taxes, is there any need to return them. US economy is likely to nose dive if care is not taken. Most countries need to reciprocate this insult and begin to look inward by developing their nation to the liveable state for their people. Japa will die down in Nigeria now.

Without ports? No problem. Country of origin is determined on arrival when travel documents are checked and cleared. Throw away the port? No problem. Finger prints are used to determine name and details. Once all those are cleared, the immigrant is sent back to his country of origin. If the lost port is fake or with fake nationality, the immigrant is returned to the originating country.

Since the US airplanes are not permitted to land with the deported persons, they will be returned to holding facilities in the USA and badly treated. That’s far more dehumanizing.

Much as the actions of the present istration of Trump are harmful and painful, South American governments must fix their own countries and stop the miles long human trains pushing to get into the USA. That also goes for other countries and their leaders. Fix your country, fix your economy.

Even though the Americans stand to lose a lot in of labour, there is a certain feeling of threat to their existence that they possibly want to checkmate.

Some Asians whose citizens daily flock to the USA never grant citizenship to people of other countries. The same goes for some middle eastern countries. Trump’s decision to make America great again must not only be viewed from the selfish angle. With the recent experiences from extremist groups in the USA, if making his country safer and better would work for him and his ers, so be it.

For us Nigerians, it is time to fix our country. We must ensure that we have leaders with integrity and clear intentions to make our societies better. Capital flight for example, must be discouraged with better wages and infrastructures must be fixed. We must ensure nationwide security and food sufficiency. That’s the way great countries were made in the first place.

Many of those migrants crossed the borders with no ports, they didn’t go through the regular entry channels, that’s why it could be tricky to know their identities or countries of origin.

Also, if their countries are refusing entry to planes, obviously they won’t cooperate to reveal their identities if they have fingerprints back home.

Your other point is important. Refusing them entry back home means subjecting them to possible more dehumanizing, because they’ll probably languish in jails with criminal gangs. I wonder how they feel knowing they don’t have a place to go other than stay in jail.

He has lost the world's respect. Same goes for Elon Musk.

The world is about to teach him that USA is just one nation amongst others.

All the muscle Trump is flexing ends in his backyard. He will face serious rejections in the rest of the country.

this is mass deportation we are talking about. Were they sleeping ever since? Should it now be taken like an international affair thereby severing ties.? Other countries as well value their citizens. They are all criminals, I pity average people that relies on nairaland for international news. The president wants USA to send em in commercial plane instead of a military plane. What difference does it make. USA will close it's Visa embassy in Colombia. Trump is golfing at the moment, when he get his time dem go cut their funding. There is a protocol for deportation. All those countries are asking is for USA to follow the protocol.

What protocol? In this regards, there is no protocol.

What about following protocol to enter a country legally.

The US has done well by returning them properly and safely back to their country.

What if they just dropped them at the border which they followed into the US.

On international Laws sef, they US have the right to sue Mexico for allowing such breach, allowing them through their country to enter US.

They did not spend the money necessary to enter a country. Yet still the same country is spending money to deport them safely.

It was the noise and shouts from the neighborhood that woke me up that morning.

I looked beside me and my wife was nowhere to be found.
I checked the time, and it was 4:32 am.

The noise kept increasing, and I took a little time to listen…
I discovered that some people were actually crying.

I checked the restroom, but my wife was not there.

"Where is this woman?" I muttered to myself before I left for the sitting room.

I was shocked when I saw neighbors and friends in our sitting room mourning, wailing, and crying.

About four women were holding my wife as she kept crying uncontrollably.

"What is going on here?
No one seems to notice my presence." I got furious and shouted at them all, "Can someone explain to me the meaning of all this? What is going on here!"

No one answered…

I looked closely and saw my picture sitting on a table with a book and a pen before it. My heart began to race, and I ran back to the bedroom! I froze as I saw myself lying motionless on the bed!

Is this a dream or death? I ran back to the sitting room to grab my wife. It was then I noticed something most unusual!

My hands went through her as if she was a wind!

I shouted in fear, "Darling, what is going on?!"

No response from her or anyone. The wailing and mourning continued.

I broke down in tears because it now dawned on me that I have departed from this world.
At that realization, I felt a hand on my shoulder… I looked towards the direction and saw a being that words cannot describe. His presence generated some heat around me.

From that moment, I was no longer in control.

"Follow me," he ordered, and I did. We moved with a speed that cannot be described. Our legs were not touching the ground.

The more we went, the more heat I felt. I asked him, "Where are you taking me to, sir?"

His response almost melted my entire being! He said with a tone of finality, "You are going to hell, the eternal home of the enemies of God."

"I am a believer in Christ Jesus," I protested.

"Yesterday, your daughter was pleading for your forgiveness, and you swore never to forgive her.

Your wife was pleading with you in tears to forgive your own daughter, but you said over your dead body.

Have you not read that if you do not forgive men their sins, your Heavenly Father will not forgive you?

"Please, can you give me a chance to go right my wrong?" I pleaded.

"I am afraid it is now too late. The state you enter eternity is the state you remain," he replied.

I shouted, "God! Have mercy on me!!!"

Suddenly, everything and everywhere were still and silent.

I started feeling pains at the back of my head and body.
I heard the voice of my wife from afar shouting, "Jesus, Jesus."

The voice was coming closer to me with time.

Then, I heard my daughter singing a worship song, "No other name like the name of Jesus…"

Suddenly, I felt like I was on a bed and started feeling some hands on my body. I sneezed and opened my eyes!

My wife shouted, "Praise the Lord," but my daughter continued with her worship song. I saw two medical doctors and some nurses.
It was Bedfast Military Hospital.

The doctor smiled at me and said, "You are welcome. We thank God that you finally come around." My wife held me tight, and my daughter knelt down in tears.

"Daddy, I am so sorry for breaking your heart. Forgive me."

I held her hand to my chest and apologized to her for failing her when she needed my love the most as a father. "I am so sorry for letting you down, Jumoke. I too need your forgiveness."
"I forgive you from all of my heart."

For over 30 minutes, I wept without control…

It was in the midst of my tears that I was told how I got to the hospital. I fell down at the bathtub, landed my head on the floor, and ed out.

So, all I saw was a dream, vision, or revelation. I can’t even tell, but I learned a lesson I could not have learned any other way!

My daughter got pregnant four years ago and brought shame to the family and my reputation.

I swore never to forgive her till I die. For four years, she has been pleading, but I refused to listen. She needed my fatherhood desperately at the time, but I denied her.

So, I could have ended my journey in hell. I could have messed up the salvation of my soul because of unforgiveness.
Thank you, Lord, for your mercy. Thank you, Lord, for giving me a chance to make amends.

Thank you, Jesus!

Friends can you take time to ruminate? If you happen to die now, is there anything that will stop you from making heaven?
Settle it now. Sort it out now!
For it is appointed unto men to die once and after that judgment.

"No repentance in the grave. You have only one life".

Forgive your spouse, children, friends, neighbors and colleagues' misdeeds.
God bless you in Jesus name.
*AMEEEEEEEEEN* .🙏

I recommend Christ to you, my friend and brethren...
