Ipobfraud: Low IQ chief has spoken. Niger state isn't close to any Southern state in of development. Go and check the per capita income, HDI, Literacy rate, and Gini coefficient of Niger state and tell me a state in Southern Nigeria that it can rival. 1 Like |

gidgiddy: Man, stay humble and learn. Ibom is an Efik-Ibibio word. It was used to name several Efik-Ibibio settlements and Arochukwu was one of them. Atp, I'm tired of bantering with non-Aro people because every Aro man knows this about their land. |

zero8zero: The same Spanish people who according to your logic have grabbed numerous lands in the new world? Based on your logic, every single ethnicity on the face of the earth is land grabber because they all stole/conquered lands in one way or the other. |

Uchasa:It makes them land grabbers. You can't gloss over it. |

zero8zero: Lmao. What more do I expect from a Tinubu er like you? Based on your logic, the Yorubas of the Old Oyo empire were equally land grabbers because they waged expansionist campaigns, same applies to the Igalas who made incursions Southwards and the Hausa-Fulanis. Good read! 1 Like |

Uchasa: So hundreds of years ago, the area now known as Arochukwu was called 'Ibom', and Igbos invaded, drove Ibibios out, took over the place and called it Arochukwu? That the narrative you want people to believe? Igbos don't operate that way, there's no history of Igbos fighting to drive out an Indigenous population and take it over their land. What I believe happend was that Aros wanted to settle on a virgin land, Ibibios laid claim to it, and there was a battle, Aros won and kept the land. There's no way Aros would have gone through the trouble to driving out Indigenous people of a land hundreds of years ago when there was still plenty of virgin lands owned by nobody 1 Like |

Uchasa: Stop writing rubbish. At no point did Arochukwu belong to Ibibio people. The people Aros had dealings with were Eburutu( Efiks) and not Ibibios. The both groups lived side by side until the Eburutu people left. 1 Like |

NaMe4: Obinkita has nothing to do with Obong Okon Ita, try harder. Arochukwu have been in that land since dawn of time. They had issues with their non Igbo neighbours. Fight ensued which they got help from other Igbos and Akpas and won. |

viodemus: Please Igbos have no such thing as siblings in Nigeria. What we have are "neighbours". Some of us should start being stoic and stop with the stupid brother/sibling stuff with folks that only see you as enemies or potential enemies. Unu ga amulu ako, n'unu adaghi Iberibe. Siblings nonsense! 1 Like |

zero8zero: What is there to rewrite? Arochukwu history leans more to relationship with Efiks, not Ibibios. Ibibio -Aro way never happened. |
pazienza(m): 4:32pm On Jan 09 |
unclenna: This exactly what happened. I made a post on this sometime ago These Minorities used the opportunity of Igbos losing the Biafra war to seize lands their Igbo benefactors gave to them to fish on in pre colonial era as customary tenants. The Hausa-Fulani and Yoruba with Ijaw gang up after the war, happily ceded these lands to these minorities as punitive action against Igbos post 1970. https://nairaland.unblockandhide.com/3678818/interesting-history-ututu-people-abia/1 If Ukwuani people were not quick to deny Igbo tag, their lands in Ndokwa East that they gave to Isoko settlers in pre colonial era as customary tenants, would have been ceded to Isoko North and Isoko South too as part of the Igbo post civil war punitive action. Their Igbo denial is why those Isoko settlers now claiming Indigenous in lands their ancestors begged for and were given to them as acts of humanity, are still stuck in Ndokwa East LGA of Ukwuani region, and why Ndokwa/Ukwuani people will retain control of those lands forever. The same thing played out in PH. Lands Ikwerre people gave to Obulom people as act of kindness in precolonial times when t Obulom people left their Abua brothers after losing a war, Obulom people ed Ijaw franchise under Okirika auspices after the civil war and started dragging that land with Ikwerres, while refusing to accept their customary tenants agreement with Ikwerre ancestors that gave them the land. If Ikwerre people have not denied being Igbo. The Hausa-Fulani and Yoruba with Ijaw gang up after the civil war would have ceded those lands to Obulom people who are now flying under Okirika Ijaw political franchise! Isu, Ututu people in Arochukwu LGA lost hectares of lands they gave to Efik neighbours to fish at in precolonial times immediately after the civil war, because they were Igbos and didn't have Ukwuani and Ikwerre opportunity to deny their Igbo tag so as to get justice. For this reason, the FG hurriedly and painfully gifted their lands to Efiks and moved these lands to Odukpani LGA. This is why I hate IPOB and why I boil with anger when a mentally challenged Igbo person speak of Biafra with Minorities! These people took advantage of us in our weakest moments and tried to take as much from us as they could. They are not our siblings or brothers. They are our neighbours, aggressive and expansionist ones for that matter. 1 Like |

gidgiddy: Lmao. What do you mean by Igbos don't operate that way? Prior to the coming of Northern European imperialists, was there anything like an Igbo identity let alone a common mode of operation? Why do you think there are scores of Igboid subgroups like mine who reject the Igbo tag? In the past, the people referred to as Igbos today were very heterogenous. Some Igboid communities had a centralized leadership system with Obis, Ezes, and Igwes holding absolute power while some Igboid communities were acephalous and decentralized. Many Igboid dialects were not even mutually intelligible and their cultures were very different from each other. Even the theories behind the existence of the "Igbo" people are so much that nobody knows their actual origins, yet you think under these complex circumstances "Igbo" people had a common mode of operation? Mister man, go and make some research about the origin of Arochukwu then you will understand why an Aro man is more closely related to the Akwa-cross people than an "Igbo" man from Anambra. There's so much to your history that you don't know. |
Uchasa(m): 5:55pm On Jan 09 |
pazienza: Mister man, go and read Aro history. Present-day Arochukwu was inhabited by a Proto-Ibibio group until the Aros and Abam people arrived and waged a campaign that culminated in the Aro-Ibibio wars. Go and read and stop arguing! |
