People line up in front of politician houses every year. Growing up in Lagos back then, area boys used to come to my dad's house to collect their sallah money and they would always create a big scene until our dad settled them 😁 Such behavior is not unusual and has nothing to do with religion.

That was why I opined that the Mayor of London may not be a philanthropist.

Zakat can be given in any form not necessarily through beggars though. One can organize widows, orphans, etc to reach in form of zakat, however in this context, those guys have been visiting and have been getting for more than 25yrs. Don’t be surprised some have introduced other family .
