SPOTTED: Ministry of works budgets N2bn to buy vehicles for SSAs in 2025

by Rahmotullah Lawal

The federal ministry of works has allocated N2 billion for the purchase of vehicles for senior special assistants (SSAs).

President Bola Tinubu, on December 13, presented a record N49.7 trillion as the proposed budget for 2025 to a t session of the upper and lower legislative chambers.

Tinubu said the proposal aligns with the renewed hope agenda and reflects the istration’s commitment to stabilising the economy, improving lives, and repositioning the country for greater performance.

In the appropriation bill, the vehicle expenses are included in the 2025 executive budget of the federal ministry of works.

The federal ministry of works highlighted significant allocations to its various agencies, with the ministry itself receiving the largest share—a total budget of N1.07 trillion, including N5.64 billion for personnel costs, N1.86 billion for overheads, and a substantial N1.065 trillion allocated for capital projects.

According to the budget breakdown, the federal road maintenance agency was allocated N64.88 billion, which includes N4.92 billion for personnel costs, N33.47 billion for overheads, and N26.49 billion for capital projects.

The regional centre for training in aerospace survey was allocated N510.09 million, entirely for capital projects, with no funds set aside for personnel or overhead costs.

Overall, the ministry and its agencies were allocated N1.14 trillion, with the majority of the funds directed towards capital development.

As usual stupid leaders in power. From the president down to the list which is councilors, bunch of corrupt mdfks.

Every 4 years senators get new bullet proof SUVs. These cars are government properties but they go away with them every 4 years and buy another one. We are not ready for good governance yet in Nigeria. We have a very very long way to go.

They all earn monthly salary, so they should buy cars from their personal income but not our resources.

They should buy tokunbo cars for their staff. Only vehicles that can be brand new are those used for projects. That budget should be slashed to smallest ratio available.

There’s no money to subsidize petrol to make it affordable for the common man, which would invariably lead to lower transport costs, reduced prices for basic food items, goods, and services, and a decrease in the inflation rate.

Yet, there’s money for cars for SSAs, an All-Black Armored Cadillac Escalade SUV for Tinubu, a new aircraft, a new yacht, frivolous travels around the world, and medical checkups in hospitals in the UK and

Thunder 🔥 on Tinubu, the APC, and his hordes of unreasonable ers and mandate-standers.

I think our problem is our media. Now I know and I think the owner of this forum is also a problem because he and his crew love to present topics in a way that person will come and argue or insult themselves so that they can make their money.
News are just posted anyhow without the root of such stuffs so that people will just make comments and that's why we see that anything you see online never seems to affect or change anything. It's more like a forum where they keep entertaining you so that you can keep commenting for their money to flow.
