Wow, so this Dele guy bleeped up this much, I thought it was just a case of minor defamation but the allegations of bribing judges is criminal defamation not civil

These are serious allegations that can lead to reputational damages of those involved and a judicial review of all the cases

He ought to be denied bail and charged to court asap for him to present all his evidence to the world

These are serious allegations which any respected lawyer or person will not take kindly to.
He should provide all the evidences to proof these allegations.

In Nigeria, if you call a murderer a murderer, he cries defamation. Defamation is very hard to prove except the judge is in collusion with the plaintiff.
Using defamation and the courts to silence genuine concerns is the norn in Tinubu's regime.

No need to whip up sentiments...those are heavy allegations...

If he has his facts, he should prove it at the court.

I love this, this leaky basket mouth will rot in the darkest part of jail. The manner at which he runs his mouth, I knew one day, he would run it enter a trap. You come enter Afe Babalola's trap.
Thank Goodness, no be FG arrest him, those bitter people would have been insulting Mr President.
All these defamatory statements he wrote in his book, where will he get evidence to proof them?, I don't pity him and his bitter ers.

God bless Nigeria.

Is it not shameful to you that a citizen like you can order the Nigerian Police to pick you up in your house over a civil matter?

Are you not worried?

If you cannot proof this allegations, I'm seeing you, using your 2 legs walking to prison yard, for a while, by the same corrupt judiciary you labelled in your book. This time around, they would dispense the judgement accordingly.

I need to get a copy of this book

6k for a copy. People are buying and giving it out for free on X.

Many "elders" are yet to understand this generation. Nobody trusts public institutions anymore. Trying to use these institutions in a crude manner to prove your case against a perceived victim will hardly end well.

"If found guilty"? How do you find a person guilty? By sending policemen to abduct him, move him from Lagos to Ekiti State because of Afe Babalola? Where was the so called crime committed?

The bolded speaks of the seeming stupidity in Dele's actions. A wise man once said, as a regular Nigerian, the more you know about Nigeria, the quieter you become.
SmartPolician:
Dele says he has facts aka proof! Why was he then arrested and thrown behind bars? How can he even depend on the judiciary he calls corrupt to save him?

The biggest protest in Nigeria was against police brutality. The next one will be against the judiciary.

Those who don't want peaceful revolution are making violent revolution inevitable.

Peter Obi and other LP should get involved in this matter. Rich men should stop oppressing people in this country.

"The story I intend to tell is wrapped around the above facts and have been carefully espoused to highlight only the facts of the matter. Afterall, of what use is a lawyer without his facts?"

Alright then, Mr Farotimi, all you wrote are very deep and I do hope you have those FACTS..

Now you have been arrested, and from what I have read that you wrote, I think Afe Babalola and everyone you have mentioned, including the Supreme Court, do have rights to write petitions against you, especially, if they know what you wrote is untrue.

Now, present your FACTS and be free...then, sue them again for assault!

He was abducted by the police. How can he present those facts, sir?

Very cowardly and irresponsible to get the man arrested.

What happened to seeking redress through a court of law?

This a very dangerous precedence...

Those who are clapping for impunity should do well to that what men sow will either be reaped by them or their children...

Getting giddy with the trappings of power should not make any reasonable person forget the impermanence/transience that typify power...

The table will definitely turn one day and the corrupt people you're blindly ing today, will become the victims of lies and truths, even if the law spare them nature won't because karma is real. Until then keep basking in the euphoria of winning the war against the light. Dele Farotimi will come out and come out stronger than before 💯

Dele should not have mentioned anybody’s name. It is already well known that all top lawyers in Nigeria bribe judges and that no judge refuses any bribe.

In fact I’m beginning to feel that we all should just embrace the corruption as part of our national culture. So let’s all Ganduje for 2031 with the slogan Embrace Corruption 2031.

Ok.

People should not be using the police to arrest anyone who defamed them.
Let them sue such person to court.

My only problem in this situation is that the same people condemning this situation here were ok with the same thing when pastorprenual fraudsters used the police to arrest Kemi Olunloyo, that woman was in prison for about 6 months.
Many others have also used the same tactics yo deal with their perceived enemies.

You cannot and be quiet when it is used against those that you don't like then cry and wail when used against those that you .

I don't it period.

Unless the laws specifically says it is ok.

Every society have their own laws.
But I don't using the police to go after your enemies unless they have made terroristic or violent threats against such person.
But lawyers have said there is a criminal side to defamation in our laws in which case you can report to the police for investigation and prosecution. You can chose to face the civil side by suing just as the falanas did. But are Nigerians still not accusing falana of oppressing vdm throught the judiciary?

The video we all saw on front page shows he was arrested.

This will definitely be a bailable case...he will be able to present his facts.

If he wins..then, he should sue for damages

Do this people really think that everyone is so kind like Tinubu to let their defamations slide and even reward them with appointments?
