Once lexus is there, every other car comes second in reliability rating. If I hadn't seen the lexus, then camry it is.

Elxandre:Four cylinder engines ain't poor. Being poor depends on the engine size. 1.1,1.2,1.4,1.6,1.8 till 2.7 litres are mostly 4 cylinders, but don't function the same way. This Camry shown here has its 2.4 litres and is not bad in speed and performance for a modest human being. In fact, if a speed demon handles it, even a V6 won't catch up. So soundness of engine and driver's experience also count in driving. If fuelling ain't a problem for him, he should get the Camry or Lexus. 3 Likes |

Toyota Camry is a good one, fuel efficient and easy maintenance. I'm using 2017 though.

1Alex:My brothers.. Middleclass Nigerians have really bad taste in cars.. I really don't blame them though, in Nigeria, as a middleclass, even with your small money, you're still mentally poor.. Na for Nigeria you go see people dey argue say AC dey consume fuel. It's all poverty of the mind. 10 Likes |

2cribz: This advice is not very bright as it leaves alot to be desired. Why should I go for a 1996 model in order to learn about cars? Well, may be your advice is for the middle class. When you're big, go for what you want. Considering my age, my first car wasn't even 2006 model and believe me I've learnt alot about car. So much that my curiosity led me to driving trucks but just for the fun. I'm not a pro truck driver. |

Siberia01: What he's saying makes sense. As a first time car owner . You need to learn the ropes, Cars have minds of their own. Get a small car like he said not necessarily 96 Camry, you can buy a Civic 08-10, etc Drive it. It will teach you a lot about car maintenance without breaking the bank. You will learn how to handle a vehicle without too much financial baggage.. you'll get the feel of car ownership. After some time you can now whichever car fits your pocket size not your budget size. Don't allow clout or peer pressure push you to buy vehicles that may be too advanced for your naive inexperienced mind with parts/maintenance that may prove too expensive in the long run. Learn from small and climb up. 5 Likes 1 Share |

flexyrule: It depends on your line of argument. Do you mean that Nigerians complain too much? I'll say yes. In the UK precisely Scotland where I stay, the line of thinking is different and it's true that the average Nigerian is mentally poor which I also agree. But the fact is that AC consumes fuel. May be not much but this is fact. Without doing your research via Google, you can put it to test with your own ride. Drive same distance without AC and same distance with AC fully powered on and check your fuel consumption level. May be not by much but AC do consume more fuel...this is fact! 8 Likes |
