PLEASE HELP MY PEOPLE..

My Whatsapp just got hacked one hour ago.
I am currently logged out.. but i enabled two steps verification.

The hacker has sent message to my email via whatsapp for reset.

Please how do i regain my whatsapp back immediately with my number?

PLEASE TECH GURUS...

Don't block your sim.

Dont uninstall or reinstall whatsapp.

All of the above wont help.

Currently, you're logged out and the hacker is also not logged in because you have 2step verification enabled.

Whatever you do, do not click on that reset link you received in your email as that would disable your 2 step verification and give the hacker complete access to your whatsapp .

What you need to do as soon as possible is to open whatsapp on your phone and your phone number. In case you get a prompt that the verification code has been sent to your other device, just click on need help and select use SMS for verification.

Your whatsapp can't be hacker without your permission. and as such you aren't giving us full details but then no to worry as you will get it back with this.

put your WhatsApp sim in a small phone, and from your Android try and back, and go to setting and click on forget , a text will be sent to your number, input the number and after scroll down to where you will be ask to input your email then put it.

NOTE : if you have tried it multiple times , WhatsApp will have extend the time you can re- to maybe 12hrs or so, you have to wait till the exact time before you re do it again.

Make sure you come back to attest to this free solution once you get it back by clinking on this comment.

Just re- your number, when they ask for verification, request for a phonecall to generate
a code instead of them sending you the code, input the code and you have your whatsapp back.

My brother, the first thing to do (including when people lose their phone) is to call telecom network and get your SIM blocked asap.

Next switch to a new number and update all your s about the ongoing scam. Then Google to recover your email. They'll block him from everywhere.

Gmail will ask you certain security questions if you got like 70%, they'll be convinced. But always, always block your Sim card first. Some people lose their phones and they start rushing to the bank. No, block your Sim card asap.

It becomes easier if you activated a recovery email id for your primary email and if you use authenticator (rather than phone number) for your 2-way authentication process

Also going forward l, beyond ing your phone, also your Sim, WhatsApp, s, bank apps etc. Mounting several gates makes it difficult for scammers. Additionally always use long s (shorter ones are easier to hack) and use lots of special characters. Of course, make it unpredictable.

How do you your s and bank Apps?

Be very careful with installing apps on your phone. Basically, if it's not from Google playstore then don't even touch it.

Did you tell the whole story?

What about the part you revealed your verification code?

It is impossible for a whatssap to be hacked if you had not given your verification code in error.

If you feel otherwise, educate me please.

The emboldened statement in your post is not entirely true.
Take it from someone who is well informed about this subject. cool

How Do Attackers Hijack WhatsApp s in This New ‘WhatsApp Verification Code Scam’?

Now it’s time to know how an attacker uses your phone number to deactivate your WhatsApp on your phone and stops you from getting back in. You will say you have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled on your WhatsApp . And you may not believe WhatsApp’s two-factor authentication does not prevent the attack. We are here to share the story of how this WhatsApp attack works.

First, the attacker will get your phone number. The attacker has multiple ways to get your phone number and other information:
1. Dark Web 2. Social media sites 3. Social engineering attacks 4. Phishing, and 5. On the WhatsApp app itself. You might be aware of what security researchers recently revealed about the Facebook data breach, which lets 533 million Facebook s’ phone numbers and personal data be leaked online.

2. You might know that whenever you install the WhatsApp app on your phone, it asks you to enter your phone number. In the next step, it sends a six-digit verification code to your phone number for verification. Attackers use this verification process as a weakness. The attacker will install the WhatsApp app on his phone and enter your phone number. Then you will receive a six-digit verification code or a call from WhatsApp.

3. The attacker repeatedly enters an incorrect verification code. You will repeatedly receive verification codes from WhatsApp when the attacker attempts with the wrong codes on this WhatsApp.

4. WhatsApp has a limitation policy to stop brute-forcing it. Under this policy, WhatsApp limits the attacker. After a few attempts, the attacker’s WhatsApp says: “Resend SMS/Call me in 12 hours,” and stops generating new codes to your phone number and blocks the code entry on the app for the next 12 hours. However, there is no change in your WhatsApp function. It will continue to work as before. Nothing much you can do to stop all this.

5. The real game starts now. Anything will happen in these 12 hours of time. It purely depends on your action. If you report these verification messages to WhatsApp and ignore all those messages, then you are safe. If you ever try reinstalling and reing WhatsApp on your phone, there is a high chance of losing your WhatsApp .

6. By the time you complete your re-verification process on your phone. The attacker will use his email ID (stolen or compromised) to write a complaint to @whatsapp.com, saying to deactivate your number.

7. WhatsApp will send an auto-generated email to the attacker’s email ID asking to enter a new phone number. WhatsApp doesn’t have any mechanism to confirm that it wasn’t you who requested the deactivation request and completed the deactivation process. All these happen with the automatic process without your knowledge.

8. After a couple of hours, your WhatsApp stops working on your phone, and you see a notification: “Your phone number is no longer ed with WhatsApp on this phone. This might be because you ed it on another phone. If you didn’t do this, your phone number to to your .”

9. At this point in time, if you try reactivating your phone number, your app will say, “You’ve tried to your number recently. Wait before requesting an SMS or a call.”. However, you will not receive the verification code or call your phone number as your phone is subjected to 12 hours of restriction. You can’t request a new code until the completion of 12 hours, and your recent code will also not work. Your is frozen.

10. After 12 hours of freeze, you can re your with the six-digit verification code. But there is a twist at this point in time. The attacker, rather than writing to WhatsApp to deactivate, could repeat the process after elapsing 12 hours. You will receive a few more verification messages again if the attacker does so.

11. The attacker tries repeating the process for the third time, and WhatsApp will breaks down this time and says”, You have guessed too many times; try again after -1 seconds”. The app blocks both the attacker and you from requesting and entering the new code.

12. In this race, if the attacker reaches WhatsApp before you, you are too late. You don’t have any stone left to hit the attacker. You will have to WhatsApp and find someone who can help.

It's very easy. Can you still your two way verification pin? to your WhatsApp. You'll see a message telling you that your has been ed on another device. It'll ask you whether to proceed or delete the new . Click on delete the new . And Start the registration again. You'll be asked to provide your two way verification pin. Just ignore their messages on your email. You'll get your back now with your messages intact

I am currently logged out.. but i enabled two steps verification.

The hacker has sent message to my email via whatsapp for reset.

Please how do i regain my whatsapp back immediately with my number?

This might take you weeks to achieve but make sure you don't attend to the verification request coming to your mail. The hackers will hang on for weeks which will make your to be locked for days after which it'll keep reoccurring because the b*st*rd won't give up easily.
Through your email verification, you'll be able to gain control after weeks.

If your WhatsApp has been hacked, you can recover it by following these steps š:

1. Sign into WhatsApp with your phone number.
2. Re- by entering the 6-digit code sent to you via SMS or phone call.
3. Once you've re-ed, the hacker will be automatically logged out of your .

Note that WhatsApp can only be ed with one phone number at a time š.

Additionally, if the hacker has enabled two-step verification, you may need to wait 7 days to sign in without the verification PIN š.

To protect your from future hacking, consider enabling two-step verification and configuring other security options such as a code, fingerprint access, or chat lock š.

Also, be cautious not to share your WhatsApp registration code with anyone, including friends and family š.

If you suspect someone is using your , notify your s and report the issue to WhatsApp š.

WhatsApp on Android now allows you to use two different s within the same app. And no, I'm not talking about having separate WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business apps. This means you can now use two numbers simultaneously on a single instance of WhatsApp.

See below details for your perusal....

Can someone hack my WhatsApp without my verification code?
If someone is trying to take over your , they need the SMS verification code sent to your phone number to do so. Without this code, any attempting to your number can't complete the verification process and use your phone number on WhatsApp. This means you remain in control of your WhatsApp .

AND

How long does it take to recover a hacked WhatsApp ?

7 days

Lost access to your WhatsApp

You might also be asked to enter a two-step verification PIN. If you don't know it, the individual using your might have enabled two-step verification. You must wait 7 days before you can sign in without the two-step verification PIN.

I think the 7 days is a long time ago

Even when the count down starts

Just trick your phone to believe you are hours ahead and you will be able to retrieve your .
