Nigeria have to accept the new norm. The new norm is that price won’t decrease, government just needs to ensure the people wages increase so they can at least have a better living.

If the wage is 30k minimum before and he get that to 85k, that’s going to 3 fold, it’s something to appreciate.

Now use this same way to advise Alex Otti who is still paying 18k, or Abia civil servant are not human beings too?

85k na him you call money for this era? Be like you no know how expensive basic things are.

If I may ask, does this mean every employee salary will be increased with 85k ?
Or this effect is for the newly recruited employees.

This is loud.....

But the taxes and high cost of living alongside inflation will render the minimum wage useless......

After all, how many percentage of Lagosians are civil servants...

But we appreciate his efforts and so far, Lagos state remains the center of excellence....
What do you have to say about Alex OTI that is negotiating 18k in Abia

Minimum wage supposed to be over 200k based on current inflation

Under GEJ, minimum wage is 18k but it will buy 2 bags of rice at 7k - 7,500 that you will still have some balance left

Today, a bag of rice goes for 100k which means minimum wage cannot even buy 1 bag of rice

18k naira in 2015 = $83 (blackmarket)

80k naira today = $47

The real value of money is the purchasing power of money
Nah you nah kill our currency by making it look as if it is a subsidiary of dollar.
Naira is naira while dollar is dollar, and so no one is expected to bow for the other in a sane society but since you all cannot survive without foreign goods, this is bane of the whole process.

Or this effect is for the newly recruited employees.

The category that’ll get 85k are the least ranked staff. Others will be increased by certain percentages. 85k won’t be added to every staff salary.

Calculate it in a month ,then check if the ridiculous 85k is worth it.. They should return the economy back to the way it was,and stop all these dramas they are acting.. They will increase salary today, increase fuel tomorrow, increase band A next tomorrow, increase gas few hours later.. Who is fooling who?

This Is Why Lagos Is Progressing More Than Your State

Lagos stopped being the capital of Nigeria thirty-three years ago in 1991, yet today, Lagos's contribution to Nigeria's GDP is more than double what it was in 1991. Lagos is responsible for 30% of Nigeria's GDP, though it s for less than 10% of our population.

Please face-check me: In 1991, Nigeria's total GDP was $59.53 billion, and Lagos was responsible for only 10% of that. Today, the GDP of Lagos is $108 billion. Lagos's economy grew faster than the national economy after it stopped being the federal capital. Think about that.

If Lagos was progressing economically because it was the federal capital, as some people who claim to have 'developed' Lagos posit, then why is Abuja not competing with Lagos in of contribution to the economy? After all, it had been the capital for thirty-three years.

Rivers, Edo, and other states also have ports. Why are they not like Lagos?

Lagos is progressing because of leadership, not because it is a former federal capital or hosts a port. Without good leadership, Lagos would be just like any other state that has a port.

For example, in these times when oil income is dwindling and states are struggling, Lagos is not complaining. Instead, they are building cutting-edge technology.

They just commissioned the Red Line metro railways to add to the already existing Blue Line, and they are preparing for the Green line. Their public infrastructure does not depend on PHCN. Lagos built and operates six functional Independent Power Projects that powers their infrastructure and utilities.

Lagos has been paying ₦70,000 minimum wage since February, and they built their own port and Free Trade Zone and are now about to build their airport.

So, stop making excuses for your state and putting all the blame on President Tinubu and the Federal Government. You should be thanking Tinubu for making more money available to your state government.

Before subsidy removal, Nasarawa was receiving ₦4.3 billion monthly. After subsidy removal, Nasarawa is receiving ₦12.3 billion monthly. Enugu's monthly allocation went from ₦3.4 billion to ₦6.7 billion.

Anambra State is receiving almost 70% more revenue under Tinubu than under Abacha. Ditto for many other states.

This year, the thirty six states are projected to receive ₦5.6 trillion. Last year, they got ₦3.3 trillion. And their wage bill has not increased. It remains the same. In addition to this, their Internally Generated Revenue has also increased. Their VAT revenue has also risen.

So tell me, why should you be facing economic hardship when your Governor receives double the allocation he used to receive? Leave Tinubu alone for a minute and ask your Governor to learn from Lagos and bring development to the grassroots.

Hmmm, Ododo of Kogi state has set the pace. All the remaining governors on the run.

Meanwhile tell former OTP (One Term President) who was recently baptized to yet OTP (One Term pain) that we shall witness the post era of his government.

How all of us Nigerians fell into this ♾️ (handcuffs) is still amazing.

Meanwhile 5 months down the line, Tinubu is still struggling to design the template for paying Federal government workers.

They are not reducing fuel. Wake up to the current reality.

I can agree they increase the wage more and put more money in the hand of people to be able to afford things. But you see that subsidy on fuel? E don go patapata.

Double your hustle, complain online as usual, but make sure you are also getting money to better your life.

These govs think they are smart. Just like fed govt added only 40k across board, they will add 40, 45, 55 across board and tell you they are paying minimum wage. Even tinubu has not started paying all workers 70k
