The 25th anniversary of Madonna University took place in 2024, marking a significant milestone for the institution.

Madonna University celebrated its 25th anniversary with a week-long event from March 18th to 24th, 2024, at its main campus in Elele, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Established in 1999 by Very Reverend (Prof) E. M. P. Edeh (OFR), Madonna University holds the distinction of being Nigeria’s first private and Catholic university, renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and moral integrity. 

The anniversary festivities were graced by numerous dignitaries, notably Mr. Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State and Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, and Hon. Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and a proud alumnus of the institution. Alumni from various state chapters, including the Lagos Chapter led by Chairman Prince Olisaemeka Idigo and PRO Ms. Kofon Ekanem, gathered to reminisce and reconnect.
